foreword
Form is a basic substance in architectural design. Therefore, understanding its character and behaviour is essential as a spine in designing. This portfolio contains ten selected works of learning how form, shape, and their alliance play with the surroundings in the world of architecture.

composition Shapes, integrated with their dimensions and quantity, together they built a rhythm to breed a composition. The process started with a grid, to enclose the rectangular within its context. Its dimension was their main actor on this orchestra. The goal was to create a balance within the rectangular shapes. The project was originally black on white paper. Inverted to increase the deepness of the media.
the depth of fields During the first lectures, our brain was trained to be more delicate on the basic form of shapes. The composition tells us about the creation of shapes by dividing the media into two basic monochrome tints. Black and white simply made the deepness on the paper look ovbious. Therefore, the four rectangular stood as an individual marks. The project was originally black on white paper. Inverted to increase the deepness of the media.

shades of light The four different types of cubes help us to understand how light works around forms. The games of solid-void on cubes creates variaton of shading. Imagine a sun lights toward the cubes at the same angle. Same amount of lights but different type of shading.
transformation A form is not created by a snap of fingers. There is a process involving dimensions when it comes to forming a form. Start with a dot, the very basic type of form. Tell the dots to make a linier queue to form a line. Then multiply the line to one direction to make a plane. Finish it by pulling up the plane to create a cube, a common three-dimensional form we all know.
playing grids watercolored
Grids. The constellation of lines as the guides of form composing. On this project another design element has been introduced; space. The spaces was formed from certain position on axes guided by grids.

abstract duplicating A crumbled piece of paper. Redescribe the level of depth on pencil on paper.
shifting elements These are how the elements of forms behave.
composing the plane A three-dimensional form was created by a single two-dimensional plane. Using the transforming principles, a three dimensional space was formed.
A solid cone was formed by layers of circles. The transformation doesn’t disturb the basic shape of the cone. Substraction is the main tool for this whirling form. Along with other works by other students from the class, together we created a composition which we could see a variaton of solid transformation.
