T 1) Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m at first a singer and a singing teacher, I’m 32 years old. I live in Lyon, France since 2008. I’m also a self-taught photographer and a writer. 2) Where is home for you?
Nowhere. Even if I think that Franche-Comté ( East France) is my most possible home. I think that “searching home” is one of my motto in photography. Home is everywhere you don’t need to feint.
7) Lighting. Do you use flashes or natural lighting? Both. I love natural light because of the poetry it brings. But when you have a 12 hours shooting to do, and a strange-mood weather, it’s not easy to make it. 8) Your photography is quite creative, is there anyone or anything that has been inspirational to you? Expressionist Cinema, Preraphaelism, Mannerism... Religious art, even if I have nothing to do with god. The idea of searching perfection in codes is something I’m fascinated by. I also love starting with matter ( candles wax, for ex.) and imagining a story around that. I love analogies, and playing with them. The story of Vofa deals with the different steps a normed person have to go through to meet her essence and feel freedom. Sometimes, this freedom can be found in madness. Vofa is like a wandering ghost (it also means ghost in Icelandic). A ghost that is kept closed in a location, afraid to see what’s after this. It’s also an analysis of purity, and all what it’s “forced” to to stay pure. 9) Do you have a favorite location to shoot at? (like a secret location? magical location?) My attic. Kino Maniak was shot in it. It’s not easy to stand up, because the roof is not high, and when you wear some heels, your head can easily hurt! But I made a couple of shoots in it, and it’s magical. I used to recreate a forest in it. 10) Now a few fun random questions:
3) What first got you into photography?
What is your favorite…
I think I’ve always wanted to draw, but i’m not patient enough. I always played with cameras like anybody else, but about 4 years ago, I was fed up with trying to create images without meaning nor technique. So I started to learn by myself, and now, i’m rethinking my vision of photography.
Color: Even it’s not a color : Black.
4) How would you describe your style? Uneasy to say. I think my style is a mix between painting and photography, with a deep aura of sentivity and melancholia. I always try to show pure things with one dirty detail. The problem is that my vision of work is becoming less pure, and I would really go to something more existential and analytic. 5) What equipment do you prefer to use? I’m keen on my 100mm macro lens, which is really perfect for emotional portraits, and my 5DII.
Animal: All animals. Every animal deserve to be respected and loved. Season: I love Winter, when it’s snowy. Movie: The Exorcist from W. Friedkin. “Staging the (un)real: An experience that typically involves a sensation of floating outside one’s body, and in some cases, perceiving one’s physical body from a place outside one’s body. Can be induced by brain traumas, sensory deprivation, near-death experiences, dissociative and psychedelic drugs, dehydration, sleep, and electrical stimulation of the brain A type of hallucination that can be caused by various neurological and psychological factors. Some sort of evidence that a soul, spirit or subtle body can detach itself from the body and visit distant locations. A lucid-dream state.”

Rachel Thalia Fisher is a young photographer based in New York City. She
finds
inspiration
in
simplicity- the shapes and shadows of morning light creeping through the blinds, a half remembered reflection, or a shiver of some forgotten place; and tends to create images of a world she can only dream about, but longs to go to. www.rachelthalia.com www.facebook.com/rachelthaliaphotography Art Photography | Syracuse University 2014

Bridge of the Sea Q: Where is home for you? A: Home has many trees and cats. Q: What first got you into photography? A: A little red point and shoot camera I received as a gift when I was younger. I’ve been shooting nonstop ever since. Q: How would you describe your style? A: I’m not sure yet, I feel as if I’m still developing a style. Q: What equipment do you prefer to use? A: Pentax. Q: Where do you find your inspiration? A: Dance, people, places, random objects I find. Q: Lighting. Do you use flashes or natural lighting? Do you prefer one over the other? A: I adore shooting outside, so I shoot with natural light. I rarely use the flash on my camera, and I don’t own any external flashes. Although, I have nothing against using them. Q: Is there anyone or anything that has been inspirational to you? A: Oh yes! All of the artist friends in my life constantly inspire me. Q: Where can our readers find you on the web? A: You can find me at my website, where I also sell prints: www.alliwynn.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/AlliWynnArt?ref=hl Instagram: alliwynnart Twitter: alliwynnart deviantart: http://allwynn.deviantart.com/ Kai’outi Magazine Page 71

Lunar I reached for the moon, but slipped into a starless void. Little Reaper The little reaper in my sleep is chasing me with blade to reap my little dreams. To come inside the soul and cut me off and start the flow of little liquid sighs. The reapers blade digs deep and pain grows to bring me out of the peaceful night time realm. In deep grey waters I am submerged, there is a light slow to break through. And I stare up towards surface, a jolt like a shot starts life, my body starts to move. Now with speed I race up, the crushing pressure now too much for me to bear. I break the waves and into the world I come, gasping in the still of night. The dream is done, the reaper gone, and all my wounds are white.

Hi my name Janay Growdon Rose I am a clothing designer, window dresser, builder, musician, flea marketer, and big time day dreamer. I live part time on a boat at 5th Ave. marina in Oakland and also in a house on a creek in Virgilia, CA. I have been a window dresser for 18 years at many shops in the Bay Area as well as wasteland stores in LA. I’d call the stores to warn them I was coming saying “this is the window lady” I’m coming to change your window display and that is how I named my fashion designs. I like jobs where I can make beauty and hide in the background. Many people don’t even make the connection of the two worlds of the window lady. Craft tool I can’t live without is definitely a sewing machine. In rough days it takes the pain away to sew beautiful pieces made from all recycled materials. A friend if mine named Vinnie Flores and I redid a box on the end of a dock and made it into a tea house ten years ago. Many birthdays a memorials have been celebrated there. Many others of since added more art to it over the years. Too bad developers are going to tear it down to make condos. That was probably my favorite creation because it is a great place to meditate and play music by the water. I find inspiration in the recycled materials I can get my hands on. The materials tell me what to do. I drape most everything so my sewing is very spontaneous. Androgyny is also a big inspiration and extremes combined. I love when a piece has many elements that are from different era’s and different materials. Lace, metal, ties, fur, rhinestones, fringe, wood etc. The creations end up as a sort of love spell when these once discarded materials are mixed together. Readers can find me on Facebook www.facebook.com/TheWindowLady#thewindowlady in Instagram and also the window lady on etsy. Since I do a lot of local flea markets I mostly sell in person. I sew all of my own garments so it is difficult to list a ton on etsy. Now I have less windows and more time to sew so hope to be putting more online soon. I sell at first Friday in Oakland, Treasure Island Flea Market, Alameda Point antiques faire space V22, jack of all trades flea market and also meet by appointment in Virgilia at a old gas station, and also a old gas station at 5th Ave. marina (where my boat is). How I managed to find two abandoned gas stations for pop up shops in the north and the south is a mystery. I would tell others to not listen to rules (there is no right way to do anything). Recycle for the future it will give you the best karma and endless ideas. Play and keep experimenting. I’ve decided to sew my own garments which keeps me small but I’d rather I made everything on my rack then have it made by someone else or Bali. Customers can feel the vibe of integrity in the window lady items because I make it all myself. I’ve chosen to target the working class over the red carpet. They would maybe be surprised that I grew up in a tiny town called Westwood CA with 23 people in my graduating class. Or maybe they would be surprised to hear that I only went to Burning Man to protest against the large amounts of waste that Burning Man creates. The protest did help and they now save some building materials for the habitat for humanity. I like to garden, swim, play piano, and daydream that someday I will have a theme room motel inspired by the Madonna inn. Also love going to yard sales and flea markets with my sweetheart Jaco.
