Zoetic Atlas As scientific knowledge of tracking information increases, people are shifting from disconcerted understanding of human performance to mortal mapping. The term ‘zoetic’ is defined as “of or pertaining to life”, therefore Zoetic Atlas is a trend prevalent in the past, present, and future, specifically portrayed through archaeology, geo-location, and physiology. Society’s changing value of success is exhibited through these subjects because people are constantly challenged to find answers and a sense of accomplishment in plotting their next move. Mapping does not only exist in the typical, obvious sense through geography, but also translates into other fields, such as the human body and evidencies of history. These examples are being applied to mapping through the development of products and media designed to aid and better understand current as well as future world issues of how societies function.

Former Fallacy Historic discoveries are vital to answering our questions regarding the past, which in turn affect the future. According to Epoch Times, the first archaeological blueprints of Noah’s Arc were recently discovered. The fascination of examining ancient artifacts is an example of satisfying the humanistic need for concrete answers in subjects that some might consider fictional. By understanding antiquities, people begin to search for solutions where there previously have been misconceptions.

Current Location Mapping occurs everyday through present day technologies such as GPS. NPR states in an article discussing Beirut bombings that a new app called ‘I Am Alive’ has been created using geo-location to easily tweet for help if a bombing occurs and the user is trapped. From the original use of navigating from point A to B to finding answers that will assist humankind in the most unsettling of situations, mapping networks are now being used for a variety of needs.

ProspecTECH Fitness monitors are being created to map the human body to gain more information on improving athletic performance. According to Engadget, new cameras have been invented that gauge angles of the body and the speed of ball movement, which in turn increase an athlete’s potential. Controversy is evident due to varying opinions of the ethics of this technology, and how it could skew natural athletic skills. The ability to outline the way the body moves will pave the way for new technological improvements in athletics as well as in the field of medicine.
