Japanese Highlights Tour 8 Days/7 Nights

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN TOKYO, KYOTO Meet your assistant at Narita Airport and transfer to your Kyoto hotel on a shared coach. Relax at the hotel and enjoy walkable Japanese-style restaurants in the area. DAY 2: KYOTO Today, visit some of Kyoto’s most famous sights and lesser-known treasures with a professional guide and private coach. Start off the day at Nijo Castle, built by the founder of the Edo Shogunate, the ornamental walled castle grounds are surrounded by stunning gardens. Then on to Japan’s most well-known rock garden Ryoan-ji, and get a glimpse of Zen Buddhist tradition as you gaze onto the famously precisely arranged stones. Next, venture to Kinkakuji, the Golden Pavilion. Today’s lunch will be at traditional Machiya house

DAY 5: KAMAKURA, YOKOHAMA, TOKYO After early breakfast, board your private bus for a long and exciting day to the bustling capital Tokyo. Enroute visit Kamakura stopping at the Great Buddha statue and Hasedera temple. Continue your journey to Yokohama, a seaside town for a local lunch before visiting the temple that offers fire ceremony, a unique ritual in the local custom. Followed by visit to Kirin beer brewery to see Japans’ arguable the famous beer brand. Onto Tokyo, which will be your base for the next 3 nights. Night at your leisure.

This afternoon, take a stroll in Kyoto’s most charming district, Higashiyama. Begin with Kiyomizu Temple, famous for its incredible views of the city from the 13meter high veranda! Marvel at the unique architecture of the main hall, built without the use of any kind of joiners.

DAY 6: TOKYO Today after a breakfast, board your private day coach with guide. Enjoy a stroll at the peaceful Hamariyku garden followed by a Japanese green tea. Then a short cruise along the sumida river to see the Tokyo from different angle. Next, head over to Asakusa - home of the grand temple of Senso-ji! Enjoy sushi or ramen for lunch at the local restaurant. Continue your journey to Tokyo National Museum. Afterward, stroll around the famous Ueno park and through the bustling Ameyoko market.

DAY 3: KYOTO Today, consider another day of wandering Kyoto’s mesmerizing streets, or enjoy a day trip to nearby Nara, Hiroshima or Osaka.

DAY 7: TOKYO Free day at leisure on your final night to Tokyo: Final night dinner on a boat by the river.

DAY 4: IZU PENINSULA Leave the frenzy of the city behind and ride the famous Shinkansen bullet train to Shimuzu, and then a hour long ferry to a small town Toi. If the weather is clear, you will have a great view of Mt. Fuji. Upon arrival, short drive to your home for a night. you will be staying at a luxurious ryokan, a traditional Japanese inn set in a beautiful woodland grove, with an impressive selection of natural hot spring baths. Kaiseki dinner will be included.

DAY 8: TOKYO Bid farewell to the bustling metropolis as you head to the airport on your coach

PAYMENT INFORMATION Price: Land tour is $4789 per person sharing double room. Deposits: In order to reserve your spot on this once in a lifetime tour of Japan, initial deposit of $2500 is due at booking. If booking air with Kamapeque Tours & Travel, air must be paid in full at time of deposit. Final payment due 60 days before departure. All payments and deposits are non-refundable.
