PLACE TO TRAVEL
As a good french guy I’m obviously gonna speak about my country. I could give you thousands of places to visit but here and now I’m gonna propose you visit my city, Lyon. The French “Capitale de la gastronomie” ! I’ve been living in this city for the past 5 years and I still love it with all my heart. Lyon’s gastronomy is world-famous, you can go to the “Bouchons Lyonnais” in Croix-Rousse, the best traditional food you will ever taste I promise ! And after that you will be not that far from Fourvière who offers you one the best view on the city and a splendid basilica. After you can go to the gallo-romain theater, one of the relics of ancient ages, where every year (if covid allows us) a two months festival with a concert practically every night takes place. A little bit further into the city you can lose yourself in the little streets of the old town and appreciate the architecture, the smell of burned sugar coming from the candy stores and the smell of fresh beer coming from the many bars in the streets. I can go for hours giving you a tour like that but I prefer to let you discover the city by yourself, from the Bellecour square to the Tête d’or park. The climate in summer is usually hot but with the two rivers crossing the city (the Saône and the Rhône) you can spend your time on the river sides and enjoy the fresh air. At the night you can always go on the Rhône’s border near Guillotière where you will find between 1 000 and 2 000 people drinking and singing until the morning, with sometimes bands, acrobats, fire spitters and other artists who likes to come to create a little free show for this “audience”.
