Concept development

While doing research, a few areas in the current institutional furniture design were identified which needed improvement. Keeping this in mind concepts were developed to include certain additional features. The institutional furniture was sought to incorporate modularity, have options of customization so that personalization can be done as per need. Furthermore, the furniture’s aesthetic appeal, comfort and adaptability to Indian classroom scenario were focused on. The materials specified by the client were plywood and square pipe. Using these materials the goal was to make the furniture affordable, easy to mass produce, easy to maintain and simple to install.
