COACH TIPS I

COACH TIPS II KSA Technical Director, Oriol, also wants to share material with you all! It is a short video analysis of Martin Odegaard, a player of Real Sociedad with throw-ins. A good clearance from a throw-in can initiate a quick attack play and that is what the video demonstrates.

U16 coach Emiliano wanted to share with our players and families this very interesting article about positional play under Pep Guardiola. The article by The Tactical Room explains the philosophy that the successful Catalan coach uses and leads to his success, looking deeply into his second season with Bayern Munich. Great for all football lovers, read it, and tell us your thoughts. We would love to discuss it with you! https://www.martiperarnau.com/juego-de-posicion-under-pep-guardiola/

In addition, the person who analyzes it, Dario Cotelo, has many more videos on twitter analyzing different plays of players and teams in the league from which you can learn a lot from. Oriol highly recommends looking through his profile or similar threads. h t t p s : / / t w i t t e r. c o m / d a r i o _ c o t e l o / s t a tus/1250804532415795201?s=12

Q&A PLAYERS & STAFF The best way to create relationship with people is through getting to know them personally! We want you to get a better insight to our players and staff and will showcase some here.

PLAYER: Omari Bain - Team and position: - KSA Juvenil. Forward. - Favorite Food: - My mom’s cooking - Dream: - Play football professionally - Favorite thing to do in Barcelona: - Spend time with my friends playing football. - Favorite team: - FC Barcelona! - Favorite Teammate: - Mandem - Favorite KSA memory: - Being undefeated in the group stage of the Madrid tournament - Background: - Omari was born in The Bahamas on November 13, 2002. In his first season at Kaptiva Sports Academy he has exceeded all expectations both personally and on a sporting and academic level. He is a happy, fun, supportive, respectful, humble boy and a regarded as a close friend by many. At the sporting level, he has been a key component of our juvenil team and their goals, among many other qualities on the field, he has been a helping hand (and foot) to many goals. He is a team player, a reference and an example for his teammates and one of our captains. In his rookie year he has been perfectly integrated into both the environment and the city; Sant Cugat, as in the academy. For the past two seasons, he’s had an interest in joining KSA but due to external factors, he could not fulfill his dream, until now. This is why he has made the most of his experience and enjoyed his first season at Kaptiva. We are very happy that he renewed for next season and look forward to his second season donning the purple!

STAFF: Aina Conca Ruzafa - Role: - Director of Operations of Kaptiva Sports - What do you do in KSA? - I make sure that the KSA staff team feels accompanied, listened to and connected with the rest of Kaptiva's departments. My goal is for the KSA team to be happy and content so that they can also pass it on to all our players. - Birthplace: - Alcoi (Alicante) - Favorite Team: - When I was little I followed Barça because my father was a super fan… but truthfully over the years, I have stopped following football. I watch other sports I tend to feel more preference to. - Do you do any sports: - Yes! I was a professional swimmer for more than 12 years, and now I still enjoy the water (especially swimming in the sea). I also practice yoga, running in the mountains, trekking, tennis, skiing, mountain biking and whatever comes up ... - What did you want to be as a child? - I wanted to be a professional swimmer. I grew up in a small town that did not have a pool and it was not an easy dream, but with the support of my parents, with a lot of effort and enthusiasm, at 14 I got a scholarship to train with the Spanish National Team at the CAR in Madrid, and I left home since then. For more than 12 years I have been combining high performance swimming (an average of 5 hours in the water + 2 hours of gym per day) with studies (Business Administration + Master in creativity and innovation) achieving many of the challenges I dreamed of when I was little. - Favorite Food: - Baked Rice (Typical Valencia dish) - Best moment in Kaptiva: - There are so many that it is difficult to keep one ... I won’t say with the achievements of Kaptiva, which are many but rather that moment I repeatedly have is of complicity, joy and happiness that I feel when I see that all of us work in the same direction. We all enjoy, laugh and fulfill our objectives. That moment is magical and luckily in this company it is repeated many times!

- Personal Moment: - The “goal of my life” was in summer of 2003. That year, in April and at the age of 16, I was expelled by a coach from the group because he said I had no aptitude to be on the National Team. I was young and I didn't want to go back to my town because I couldn't train there and that meant giving up swimming. The CAR director allowed me to continue in Madrid, studying and training alone, on my own, and I did so for 4 months. In July, the Absolute Spain Championship arrived and I was one of the youngest swimmers to participate. To the surprise of many, I qualified for the final of the 400 styles and I will always remember that afternoon at the Picornell Olympic Pool. I jumped into the pool, I left behind all the bad thoughts that coach had instilled in me, and I trusted myself, I swam as if I was best, with heart, with confidence and with head. I had visualized myself many times (during those 4 months training alone) swimming that final, I dreamed that I touched the first wall before the gaze of that coach who had wanted me away from the pools. I touched the wall, I looked at the scoreboard, and when I discovered that I had won and that the dream had come true I was in disbelief. The tears of emotion, the screams of joy of those who had believed in me, and the happiness of having overcome that great obstacle all came at once and it truly “the goal of my life". - Any other?: - Obviously, another one that inspired me back in the day was linked to the world of swimming. I was a big fan of a swimmer named María Peláez, I was a huge fan and would write letters to her and she would respond! Years later we were rivals, but above all, we were and are very close friends. My parents took me to see her at a European Championship and this happened there... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0sE_m7dWkc At 4:47 in the shot of the crowd you can see a very young Aina clapping very excited! I will always remember it, and even 23 years later when I remember it, it still gives me goosebumps!
