Manager of Karisma Foundation | Our passion is to help!

Since 2012, she joined Karisma Hotels and Resorts, initially in the Talent and Culture department, specifically in Training and Development, while the Foundation project was being developed.

In 2015, the Foundation officially began operations under an operating model that has had a significant impact.

Over the course of nine years, the Foundation has established itself as a key ally for public bodies, such as the state Ministry of Health.

This is the second period that its agreement with the Ministry of Health will be renewed to address the most urgent health needs in the communities.

In addition, agreements have been renewed with municipal presidents and they have established a network of medical specialists who rely on the Foundation to bring help where it is most needed.

One of the most important challenges was the implementation of the mobile medical unit, a project supported by the government and the Mexican Diabetes Association, with a solid methodology that generates tangible change.

This project has received the backing of the IMSS and the Ministry of Health, validating the work done.

Salary Review Policy 2024

An approved process for the company:

For Karisma it is important to have policies that support the welfare of our employees, as an example, in terms of compensation we would like to announce how our annual salary review policy operates.

Salary Review

This policy seeks to maintain competitiveness in each destination in which we participate according to three important pillars:

Target

• Economic situation of each destination, including government decrees, inflation, tax changes, among others.

• Company financial results, in order to be able to allocate economic resources in each review exercise.

• In non-unionised positions, which are administrative or on the company’s Operating or Executive Committee, Merit is also considered.

How?

The company defines merit as everything the employee does to support results:

• Contribute ideas/projects that support company results.

• Ideas that support cost reduction.

• Contribute ideas that improve processes.

• Support processes in other operations such as Task Force.

All these factors are assessed by the leaders of each area in the first quarter of each year.

• The salary review is carried out at company level with the Talent and Culture area together with the Finance area of each business unit.

• For unionised positions, reviews are carried out in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement that has been established with each union.

The implementation of our policies promotes an environment with fairness and transparency, we do exercises that allow us to reach our goal and continue to build a great place to work.

Karisma Hotels & Resorts will develop in Bergantín, a 300-room hotel and water park in Puerto Plata.

PUERTO PLATA - Karisma Hotels & Resorts signed a memorandum of understanding with the Punta Bergantín Trust to develop a 300-room project and a water park.

The project will include restaurants, bars, meeting space, wellness, health and fitness facilities, swimming pools, social areas and other amenities.

“Today is a truly special day for Karisma Hotels and for me, as a Dominican, full of pride.

We are excited to announce this magnificent project, which for its characteristics will be unique in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean,”

Said Jorge Luis Feliz, president of Karisma Dominican Republic.

He explained that it is “an innovative initiative that combines condominiums and hotel, designed especially for families, with one of “our globally recognised brands”.

Jorge Feliz assured that this development “will capture the unique essence of the beautiful region of Puerto Plata, with a solid commitment to offer unforgettable experiences to our guests”, and contribute to the social and economic development of the area of Punta Bergantín, in Puerto Plata.

“This investment in Punta Bergantín is a true testament to our commitment to the growth and promotion of tourism in the Dominican Republic, both nationally and internationally”.

Karisma Hotels & Resorts is a renowned collection of luxury hotels that owns and manages a portfolio of properties in Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe.

Its brands include Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts, Margaritaville Island Reserve, part of the Island Reserve®️ Inclusive Collection by Karisma and Azul Beach Resorts by Karisma.

Its properties have been recognised with major international tourism awards, including Condé Nast Traveler’s “100 Best Hotels in the World”, Condé Nast Traveler’s “Top 30 Hotels in Cancun”, TripAdvisor®️ Traveler’s Choice “Best Hotels for Romance”, and AAA’s Five Diamond Award and Four Diamond Award.

Bergantín is an initiative of the Dominican Government, managed by Grupo Reservas and the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic.

Its objective, explains the trust’s statement, is to “put Puerto Plata back on the world’s tourism map, relying on the power of its beauty, the quality of its natural beauty, and most especially, its community and its people”.

This initiative explains the Punta Bergantín Trust “has a comprehensive development approach and proposes to house at least 4,500 new hotel rooms, 2,000 residential and mixeduse tourist units, a golf club, public access beach clubs and the creation of a thematic village unique in the region, as well as a film studio and an innovation centre”.

This project, says the agreement, “pays tribute to Puerto Plata as the first tourist destination in the country, and recognises this region’s contribution as a leader and pioneer in placing the Dominican Republic as one of the first tourist centres in Latin America, and the world”.
