Connecting to the future, strategic transformation
Miguel Ortíz Millán, Chief Strategy Officer at Karisma Hotels & Resorts, shares with us about digital transformation in today’s business world.
He highlights that the strategy area is responsible for aligning the company’s sales and marketing efforts with those of technology and information management in the same direction; maximising sales and profits.
Revenue and distribution, where today we compete against hundreds of hotels, and monitor the competitiveness of our rates through electronic rate shopping by means of robots.
We define through BI (Business Intelligence) which is the CompSet (or Competitive Set of Hotels) against which we compete.
This is a lot of work and can only be understood through the alignment of technology and sales strategy. To have the best rate and react to market opportunities.
Magazine
Electronic distribution channels are in charge of delivering the fare to thousands of agencies and wholesalers in various parts of the world.
The effort would be impossible without thinking about technology.
Today we have two major Channel Manager technologies and we are on the road to adding more platforms that allow more clients to connect to the Karisma Hotels & Resorts world.
We are centralising our rates and promotions, as well as their automatic distribution between Revenue-Our Hotels and CCI, to stay ahead of the competition through Salesforce and the new Middleware.
For Retail Travel Agencies, we are enabling a platform for booking and payment of commissions and incentives.
This allows us to work with many travel professionals that we were previously unable to serve in all parts of the world.

Karisma Hotels & Resorts stand | at the Acapulco 2024 tourism trade fair.
In our Direct Channels, our website, our social networks, our app.
We are improving totally technological concepts hand in hand with a commercial strategy; usability, traffic generation, presence in search engines and social networks, payment gateways, booking engines, anti-fraud processes, just to mention the most important ones.
Social Media is a clear example of how our landscape is transforming. Today we all use one of them, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram or TikTok. Here we have started a project to lead the social space.
Generating our own content, as well as making alliances with bloggers and influencers.
It is no longer the future, it is the present and we will be leaders very soon.
The strategy includes Prestige Travelers and the travel club, our apps and many internal procedures that we are looking to make more efficient.
Our goal is Omni-channel, which is why the commercial processes go hand in hand with digital processing.
Playing in all channels in the right way is the Digital Transformation Strategy, where today Karisma Hotels & Resorts is shaping up to be a leader once again.
