We cross the South Downs to enjoy the views at Beachy Head, reaching Birling Gap. We return via the scenic Seven Sisters to Alfriston, one of the oldest and prettiest villages in Sussex. F R I DAY Departing Henley at 8.00am, we skirt London and cross the Thames via the Queen Elizabeth Bridge. Arriving in Rochester, we are immediately in Charles Dickens country. Rochester High Street was often used in his novels and you will be enthralled by the history and heritage that the town possesses: • Follow in the footsteps of Dickens – Why not take a guided walking tour? • Visit the cathedral and castle, both of which have Dickens connections • Enjoy a relaxing Medway cruise. Our coach transfers to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay. S AT U R DAY We suggest that your join our coach for the short transfer to nearby Chatham where a visit to the Historic Royal Docks is highly recommended. There is a wide variety of fascinating attractions here: • Tour a submarine and a Royal Navy destroyer • Watch rope makers at work • Visit the Lifeboat Museum At 3.30pm it’s time to leave and make our way home, arriving in Henley at 7.00pm.

We head for Wales, pausing at the re-developed Cardiff Bay waterfront area before arriving at our hotel during the afternoon where we are free to explore the sights which include: • Excellent shopping • Narrow street & lanes • Art Galleries & theatres • Castle • One of the smallest public houses in Britain • The most westerly amphitheatre in the Roman empire. Then relax and enjoy dinner in the comfort of your hotel. S AT U R DAY Join us on an excursion as we visit the seaside resort of Saundersfoot with time to explore the little harbour before leaving for the short ride to Tenby. With the old town walls, interesting little side streets and alleyways to explore and superb beaches it is difficult to find a more picturesque setting. Our return takes us via Pendine Sands. S U N DAY Departing our resort after breakfast we return via the scenic Wye Valley passing Tintern Abbey with spectacular views of the River Wye, returning to Henley around 6.00pm.

S AT U R DAY Departing after breakfast we drive to Esholt, a village previously used for some of the exterior location filming of Yorkshire TV’s popular ‘soap’ “Emmerdale Farm” including the pub. Formerly known as the ‘Woolpack’. Later we continue to the beautiful village of Haworth. Famous for its connections with the Bronte Sisters, where they lived in the local Parsonage. Our homeward journey commences around 4.00pm and our return to Henley is around 7.00pm.

Our break will be centred on the busy Lakeland resort and old market town of Keswick. The Skiddaw Hotel (###) Keswick Enjoying an excellent location in the market square, the hotel provides superb standards and friendly service. Bedrooms are en-suite with TV, telephone, hairdryer and hospitality tray. Facilities include a restaurant, bar, pleasant lounge on the first floor and a lift serves all floors.

Depart Henley at 8.00am. We journey north to the famous spa town of Harrogate where attractions include: • A superb selection of shops and boutiques • Experience the world famous Betty’s Tea Rooms • Visit the town’s Turkish Baths and Spa to unwind • Browse the antiques and unusual gifts in the stylish Montpellier Quarter. We continue to our hotel in time for dinner and our overnight stay. DAY T WO After breakfast explore the delights of York which include: • The Magnificent York Minster • The Jorvik Centre • The National Railway Museum • The fascinating Castle Museum • The famous Shambles and web of narrow streets and alleyways. Depart York at 4.00pm we commence our journey homeward arriving around 8.00pm.

Departing Henley at 8.00am, we travel north pausing at Richmond where we have time for lunch and some sightseeing before we continue on to our hotel in Hexham arriving in time for dinner and our two night stay. M ON DAY After breakfast discover the delights of Hexham which include: • Hexham Abbey • Hexham Old Gaol – the oldest purpose built prison in England. In the afternoon we journey through the Kielder Forest to Kielder Water, Europe’s largest man-made reservoir. Enjoy the wild landscape before we head across the route of Hadrian’s Wall en-route back to Hexham. T U ES DAY Departing our hotel after breakfast we journey to the border town of Carlisle. Rich in culture and history there’s much to explore including: • The Norman Castle & Roman remains • Imposing Cathedral We commence our journey home after lunch arriving in Henley around 7.00pm.

F R IDAY Depart Henley at 8.00am we travel north directly to Keswick, making a convenient stop for coffee enroute. Arriving around noon we are free to explore and enjoy the atmosphere of this pretty market town. • Take a stroll to the shore of tranquil Derwentwater for stunning lakeside views • Visit the Keswick Museum & Art Gallery • Later we check into our hotel in time for dinner and our two night stay. S AT U R DAY After breakfast we join the coach for a full days excursion through the Lake District. We enjoy a scenic drive over Kirkstone Pass to Ambleside and then on to Bowness for lunch and perhaps enjoy a leisurely Lake Windermere cruise. We return to Keswick through pretty Grasmere and along the shore of Thirlmere. Dinner in our hotel. S U N DAY After breakfast we drive to Cockermouth, famous as being the birthplace of Poet William Wordsworth. Departing after lunch we head homeward where our return to Henley is around 8.00pm.

DIRECTIONS: Our premises are situated one mile north of Henley, on the A3400, travelling towards Birmingham. On arrival, enter via the ‘Entrance’ gateway and follow the signs for ‘Great Breaks Parking’. For passengers being dropped off and collected at the end of the break, there is ample space for this. Travel in comfort – All coaches used on Great Breaks will be from our top class touring fleet, equipped with air conditioning, reclining seats and toilet. No smoking – Enjoy a great atmosphere! Please remember that we operate a no smoking policy on all coaches.

Booking conditions Enquiries – just contact our office at Liveridge Hill, Henley-in-Arden (on the Birmingham Road, A3400 north of Henley) or an appointed Travel Agent. Great Break Bookings – For a provisional booking, a simple telephone call is all that is needed. We will hold places for you without obligation for 7 days. (Please note; provisional bookings will be cancelled automatically if payment is not received within 7 days). Confirmation of Booking – In order to confirm your booking we require payment in full within 7 days. Once received we will send you your Great Break confirmation, receipt of payment, the number and location of seats booked and pick up times. Methods of Payment – All normal methods of payment, including cash, cheque, by debit and credit card and by telephone or by post are acceptable.

PLEASE MAKE CHEQUES PAYABLE TO: ‘JOHNSONS COACH TRAVEL’. Please note there is a 2% charge for payments made by credit card. Reductions – There are no reductions for children on Great Breaks. Cancellation by the Company – Should circumstances arise where, due to less than 20 bookings, we are forced to cancel a ‘Great Break’ holiday all monies paid by all passengers for that particular excursion will be refunded and following that the Company shall be exempt from any further liability. Cancellation by the Passenger – You may cancel your ‘Great Break’ holiday at any time and provided that we receive notice of cancellation within 56 days (8 weeks) of the departure date, then we will refund you the value of the break, less a £20 cancellation charge and the value of your travel insurance premium. No refunds can be given for cancellations made less than 56 days prior to departure. You may be able to claim back the cost of your ‘Great Break’ (less the insurance premium and the insurance excess charge) through your travel insurance which can be purchased at the time of booking. For all other terms and conditions please refer to the Trading Charter which is published in our main Summer 2013 Coach Holiday brochure. Travel Insurance – is not included in the cost of our Great Breaks, but is available from just £13.50. Alterations – The company reserves the right to alter or cancel any of the Great Breaks listed in this brochure and to alter the size and specification of the vehicle used.
