Llangollen and a horse drawn boat trip

We take in some of the best scenery and pretty villages of the Cotswolds as we travel to the historic town of Cirencester; where there is time to explore and to have lunch. Perhaps visit the Corinium Museum to learn about the history of the Cotswolds and admire the exhibits. We continue to a picturesque Cotswolds hotel, where we enjoy a delicious afternoon tea. Llangollen became important because of its prominent position on the main London to Holyhead coaching road which was improved by Thomas Telford in 1815. The Canal was also constructed around this time and brought considerable changes to Llangollen during the early part of the 19th century. Parts of this canal have now been designated as a World Heritage Site. There is time to explore and have lunch before we join our narrow boat for a two hour trip along the canal which carries us through the beautiful Vale of Llangollen. Sit back and relax as the horse drawn boat glides silently through the Welsh mountains. Includes: Horse drawn boat cruise
