#StartupU: Spring 2015 Leadership Certificate Program March 2 - April 25, 2015 | Nominate or apply by February 23. Open to juniors or seniors with minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA. Are you ready to “StartUpU,” supercharging your life and career? In this new Leadership Certificate Program, upper class students will transform their thinking of themselves as their own business, defining their personal business model and mapping the way they can leverage their strengths and talents to grow personally and professionally. The program is based on Tim Clark's "Business Model You," (2012, Wiley) supplemented by current readings. Each student will receive:  A copy of the book, Business Model You.  A canvas and supplies to create their personal business model.  An opportunity to present their personal business model at Spears Fest (April 15).  A chance to present a learning activity to fellow students at the Student Women's Leadership Symposium (April 25).  A custom pin as part of a formal pinning ceremony (April 25). The program offers the following action-based learning objectives and activities:  Apply “Business Model Thinking” to be able to prepare and adapt to ever-changing world and job markets.  Create (versus find) a dream job through strong self-knowledge, pinpointing career and life sweet spots.  Develop a purpose statement.  Understand personal worth and value.  Test your personal business model in the market. The total program contact hours is estimated at 20. Academic credit hours are not provided through this program.
