A10-page excerpt from a proposed full-length graphic novel about the struggle and perseverance of Chinese-Americans, as told through historical events surrounding the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake. The story explores three intertwined narratives depicting the assertion of the Chinese-Americans’ to their rights (Look Tin Eli) despite the pressures imposed on the Chinese community —of exclusion (Abe Reuf) or conformity (Donaldina Cameron)— by their countrymen.
