FRI JUL 27 Josh Blue

THU JUL 5 Travis Meadows

Unconventional classical pianist Alpin Hong executes his repertoire from Rachmaninoff to Gershwin like a rock star. With youthful vivacity, Alpin translates the history, importance and validity of the classical piano arising from a deep understanding and love of his art. Armed with a Masters from the Julliard School of Music, Alpin flaunts technical prowess on even the most strenuous pieces, wooing fans with his stunning technique, emotional range and rare humor. His excitement is contagious. Alpin makes classical music hip. In this community collaborative concert, Alpin is accompanied by a performance from the Crested Butte School of Dance. 10:00 a.m. Special Children’s Performance. Free. 7:00 p.m. Ticketed Performance. Adult: $25. 18 & under: $15

This outdoor concert in the wide-open meadows of a local ranch features a Nashville underground musician, true artist and unforgettable performer. Travis raises chills with his raspy-voiced storytelling and heartrending confessionals. His rawness rises up from a deep well of honesty, chiseled through pain and loss, death and rebirth. Travis’ songs have been recorded by country music icons and rockers alike such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hank Williams Jr. and Wynonna Judd. Warming up the crowd for Travis are Missy Chamberland, Evelyn Roper, Chris Coady and Bill Dowell. Cash bar available. 7:00 p.m. $20 VIP tickets through Tour de Forks are $225. See the Culinary & Vintner Arts section of this program for more details.

SAT JUN 23 Patty Larkin Patty Larkin redefines the boundaries of folk-urban pop music with her inventive guitar wizardry and uncompromising vocals and lyrics. Hers are richly contemplative tracks about solitude and togetherness, open vistas and spiritual quests. Her alto voice can be breathy and confiding, or tinged with the blues, delicate yet expressive. She is not only a virtuosic slide guitarist, but an imaginative and versatile vocalist, and riveting performer. 8:00 p.m. Early Bird through 6/16: $20. Regular: $25

SAT JUN 30 The Artisanals Indie rock group The Artisanals are chock full of Charleston, South Carolina’s latest music luminaries with sonic influences ranging from the dream-pop work of George Harrison to the stone-cold radio hits of bands like the Killers. Sporting 70’s style harmonies and songs that run stylistically from that of Tom Petty to Bruce Springsteen, The Artisanals touch on everything from anthemic choruses to acoustic interludes. 3:00 p.m. Free The Artisinals show is in conjunction with the inaugural CB Chalk Walk — a temporary community public art-making event with the Art Studio of the Center for the Arts. Please see the Art Studio pages in this program for more information.

MON JUL 23 Red dirt country heroes Jason Boland and the Stragglers pen honky-tonk tunes as whipsmart as they are body-moving.
