LIVE MUSIC & SHOWS
Virtuoso mandolin player and ethereal tone-true vocalist Sierra Hull publically entered the bluegrass world as a teen prodigy on the Grand Ole Opry stage with Grammy-winning artist Alison Krauss. Her newest album (produced by Bèla Fleck) introduces Sierra as a composer and lyricist with a genre-transcending soundscape claiming bluegrass at its roots, but finding its wings in original music that rings with both harmony and dissonance. 8:00 p.m. Early Bird through 8/17: $20. Regular: $25
Cornmeal is the rockin’ slam-grass hoedown with high energy bluegrass you’re looking for. Both traditional and unconventional, it’s grounded in mainstay influences from David Grisman to John Hartford, yet unafraid to venture into a hybridized dance-grass styling that also includes the Talking Heads, Paul Simon and the Grateful Dead. A jam approach to their exploratory live performances whips audiences into a limb-rousing frenzy with expert musicianship, lightning fast tempos and impeccable harmonies. 8:00 p.m. Regular: $20

Their beautifully haunting penchant for yearning high harmonies, rollicking banjo-driven duets, serious chops, and good-natured fun earned them a Grammy for Best Bluegrass in 2013. 8:00 p.m. Early Bird through 9/17: $35.
