Get ready for the next installment of tremendous theatre from local community group Growl Theatre.

The group are busy in rehearsals for their next production, ‘Rope’ by Patrick Hamilton, directed by Brendan James & Charles Langford . Here is a quick synopsis of what is in store: A brilliantly tense play from Patrick Hamilton, the author of Gaslight, which was performed by Growl Theatre in 2022. Believing themselves to be intellectually superior to their contemporaries, two flatmates murder their friend purely to see if they can get away with it.

They then throw a cocktail party, serving food from the top of the trunk where they have hidden his body. Tension and suspicions increase as the evening wears on.

The show hits the stage on the 1st, 2nd, 7th, 8th, 9th, 14th and 15th July 2023. Shows commence at 7.30pm on the Friday and Saturday evenings, with Matinee shows starting at 2pm. The play will take place at the Windsor School of Arts, 381 Lutwyche Road, Windsor. Tickets are $20 for an Adult, $17 for a concession and $15 for groups of 6+. Tickets can be reserved online www.growltheatre.org.au or email boxoffice@ growltheatre.org.au

It's the 1880's in Treegap New Hampshire, a small village in North-East America and 11-year-old Winnie Foster yearns for a life of adventure beyond her white picket fence, but not until she becomes unexpectedly entwined with the Tuck Family does she get more than she could have imagined. When Winnie learns of the truth behind the Tuck’s unending youth, she must fight to protect their secret from those who would do anything for a chance at eternal life. As her adventure unfolds, Winnie faces an extraordinary choice: return to her life, or continue with the Tucks on their infinite journey.

Brisbane Musical Theatre’s goal is to produce great productions,

An update from The Hills Players Community Theatre Group using great processes with great performers. Their ultimate aim is to inspire and engage actors and audiences alike, transforming them with powerful stories.

The Hills Players ‘Disfunctional’ production, proved to be a whole lot of fun. The group was confident the plays were entertaining, but they never quite know how the performance will be received until they perform live. That’s the beauty and mystery of live theatre. By all reports, the audience really enjoyed the plays, which is always the ultimate aim.

Each of the five plays brought something a little different to the stage. Deception, introspection, frustration, humour, and of course a healthy dose of disfunction. There is of course a lot of work required in the lead up and on the night of the performances. The Hill Players would like to thank everyone who contributed to making the production the success that it was; from front of house, sound and lighting, backstage managers to prompts, every role is integral to ensuring things run smoothly. Special thanks to our patron Tim Mander Member for Everton for the donation of the bountiful hamper. Our most heartfelt thanks goes to the audiences, their continued support makes it all worthwhile. The group, looks forward to their next production, watch this space for future updates. In the meantime, The Hills Players will be holding their annual Trivia night, always a great evening. So, stay tuned for more information in the next edition, or check-out the Hills Players Facebook page.
