In 1990, a talented baker named Stephanie Crowley took out a small loan and opened a small, quaint cafe in Greenville, SC. Tipping her hat to the memorable children’s nursery rhyme and paying homage to The Muffin Man, Stephanie proudly named her new cafe Muffin Mam. In 1992, seeing the poten al for something so much greater, Stephanie, along with 8 very dedicated employees, transi oned Muffin Mam into a wholesale bakery. Muffin Mam realized success from very early on. At the end of its first year of opera on as a wholesale bakery, the company generated a half a million dollars in sales. Over the next several years, Muffin Mam experienced progressive and stable growth. In 1999, requiring an even larger produc on facility, Muffin Mam moved to its third loca on, centrally located in Simpsonville, SC. In 2014, Stephanie passed away, leaving the business in the care of the company’s dedicated leaders. A few years later, suppor ng its vision for growth and inves ng in its future, Azalea Capital acquired Muffin Mam. Company leadership and team members are encouraged and mo vated by this partnership. In November 2019, Muffin Mam expanded opera ons once again by opening a second produc on facility 20 miles down the interstate, in Laurens, SC. In addi on to crème cakes, loaf and pound cakes, muffins, and angel food items, this new facility expands the company’s selec on of items by producing fully decorated cakes and cupcakes. Over the years, our company has refined our processes, developed efficient systems, and built las ng rela onships with our suppliers and customers. Muffin Mam takes pride in remaining strong throughout the last 30 years of growth and market changes. Our commitment today is the same as it was when we started….great products, responsive team members, and wholesome and high-quality ingredients. We are excited about our next 30 years!

We can customize your formula or ours. Our par cular formulas are patented designs that gain moisture throughout the thawing process, providing a high quality and delicious product to your customers. Our primary icing vendor was chosen due to the quality and taste. This vendor was the most preferred icing vendor of all that we tested. Combining this equipment and technology with the most talented workforce gives us the strongest resources in the market. The three leaders of our Opera ons team and Reseach and Development team have over 70 years of cake manufacturing and decoraঞng experiense. We have chosen to use nitrogen flash freezing to ensure that our icing securely adheres to our cake structures. (Flash freezing is used in the food industry to quickly freeze perishable food items safely. It involves subjecࢼng food items to temperatures well below water's melࢼng/freezing point.)
