City in Flux was the first studio tried that I received from our lecturer John, the brief was to show observations of change throughout a city. I focused my research on Mental Health within Blackpool because it is a city that I know was I was born there. As I was taking photographs and observing the many different links to mental health, I gained more and more experience and research within mental issues. After taking inspiration from a video by Vice News, I went more depth into being able to illustrate illness’ within people. For my final pieces I created a wall of faces, to symbolise how there are so many faces and people that can be affected by mental illness, I wanted to make it look scary and that, people that suffer may feel eeveryone around them judges them for having this disease so I wanted to play on that emotion by showing it from a sufferer’s eyes.

With this we got to do what we wanted to show the Golden Record in it’s true eyes, for me it was about creating peace, however I feel that it never worked and that there are more and more problems arising. I wanted to show this through the research I did and the work I produced, which was the image created behind this writing, I dd this by setting fire to certain flammable items like wool and paper, and I burnt out a golden CD I had and put it in the fire to indicate, the Record going up in flames.

The brief for Type Transcription was to create a typeface that was inspired by a specific artist. The typeface I have created was inspired by the work of rejuvenate productions who designed the logo and artwork of Bibi’s restaurant Leeds. I tried to track down the artist but can not find the original designers as it is a group of people who work on the projects they are given. I chose to use capital lettering because Bibi’s was use all in capitals and felt it was eye-catching.
