Newsletter Week 5

Worsbrough Common Primary School and Rising Stars Children’s Centre Newsletter Gosh where did that term go? I can’t believe it it’s the Easter break already! It has been such a busy term! As ever there is plenty going on during the holidays—this time it’s our hall that is getting a complete makeover, it is going to be amazing! The hall work will take 3/4 weeks so there will be strictly NO access through the hall on our return to school. We will be taking the children around the outside of the building to access the ICT suite library and Dining hall. Parents/carers shouldn’t be using the main reception as an exit anyway but there will be no access after the Easter break. Thank you in advance for your support. Ms Davies :) Easter Craft Fair We had a fantastic turn out for the Easter Craft Fair on Wednesday— thank you all for your support! A huge thank you to Lisa who always maintains her energy and enthusiasm and makes these events happen!

Spring Term 1 22nd March 2012

Lost Property! We have an absolute MOUNTAIN of lost property in school! It can be found in the red box in the hall. However next Friday March 22nd we will be emptying all cloakrooms and the lost property box and be putting it out in the hall. Please come and have a look at the end of the school day and reclaim anything that is yours. We will also give all classes the opportunity to do this. Anything not claimed after Friday will be bagged up for charity. Many Thanks!

One World Week! What a fantastic week we’ve had! Each class has been learning about a different country, finding out where it is in the word, its climate and culture and history. There have been some amazing things going on including Skyping America and Ireland, blogging to New Zealand and some great filming in the Caribbean by F2! Have a look on the class blogs for more and if you get the chance come in and see some of the amazing displays!

Football Tournament! A HUGE well done to our football team who took part in their first competitive tournament yesterday. They were fantastic and were narrowly beaten after a late goal in extra time by Ward Green. Mr Morrison and Mr Fletcher were incredibly proud of how they played as am I . We might need to work on our resilience in the face of defeat however!

Goodbye, Good Luck and Thank you! To Mrs Briault who has been our temporary teacher in the Resourced Provision this term. We are also saying goodbye to Emma our Speech and Language Therapy Assistant who leaves us to take up a post as a Speech and Language Therapist—we will all miss you very much Emma! Free places for 2 year olds. If you have a two year old they may be eligible for 15 hours free nursery care. The places are offered to those who meet the criteria—please contact the Family support work team for more information.

Have a lovely weekend!
