Worsbrough Common Primary School and Rising Stars Children’s Centre Newsletter An OUTSTANDING Year! I can’t believe another year is over! What a year! I think I have probably experienced some of the most significant highs and lows as a Headteacher this year but it’s certainly been memorable! Thank you once again for all your help and support offer the course of the year, it really is appreciated and makes such a difference to your child’s progress. Our end of Y6 SATs results were again positive, although the school’s overall percentages are lower than last year as we had 3 children not entered this year and one child absent during the week of the tests. However we can again demonstrate that learners at WCPS make outstanding progress. We are saying goodbye to a number of staff today, Mr Shepherd has a teaching job closer to home, Miss Caroline is joining Athersley South and Mr Hill and Mr Lowe are off to start their teaching training—I’m sure you will join me in wishing them well. We all so say goodbye and good luck to our Year 6 children as they move on to secondary school! I’m sure they will all continue to work hard and achieve all that they put their minds too! I say it ever year I know but I am incredibly privileged to work with such an amazing bunch of staff. They are all incredibly talented and work exceptionally hard all year round, there are very few schools in Barnsley where the staff car park fills up from 7am and then doesn’t empty completed until 6pm. Their creative ideas and sense of fun makes the classrooms here exciting places to be. I couldn’t be prouder of my amazing team. Have a great summer– hopefully we’ll see some sunshine! Ms Davies :)
