On January 11 and February 2, Kauai High School Key Club helped with the Kauai Aquatics Swim Meets at the YMCA. On the 11th, all 6 members got into each lean to help time the swimmers. For each event, they’d press a button when they finish and fill in their times on clipboards. On the 2nd, two more jobs were filled: one group of members would line up the swimmers before each event starts to make sure they’re in proper order, and another would award swimmers medals during each break. This went on from the early morning to 1 in the afternoon. I personally think that everyone, from the Key Clubbers to the swimmers and audience, had a great time! If I had the chance, I would definitely do this project again next year to continue making the meets organized and fun!

On January 12th, Kauai and Kapa’a Key Clubs gathered for a Division Council Meeting (DCM) at Kapa’a High School. This meeting was a significant event for both clubs, providing an opportunity for members to come together, share updates, and discuss future plans. During the DCM, updates from the division were shared, including upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and new initiatives aimed at strengthening the clubs' impact on the community. Members had the chance to engage in meaningful discussions, exchange ideas, and collaborate on projects that would benefit their schools and local areas. The meeting also served as a platform for recognizing the hard work and dedication of club members, fostering a sense of camaraderie and teamwork. Overall, the DCM at Kapa’a High School was a productive and inspiring event, setting the stage for continued success and growth for both Kauai and Kapa’a Key Clubs.
