On Oct. 26th, 2024 we had our annual KHS Key Club Krispy Kreme Walmart parking lot for pick ups/sales from 9 am-1 pm, but before effort brought tents, tables, benches and trucks to make it all It was a very rainy day that we had to go into Walmart and but in the end we pulled through and gave out almost all of instead of throwing them away we donated them to our nurses, do a lot for our community.

On October 4th, 2024, we attended Make a Difference Day held at Lydgate Beach Park. This event started at 8:30 am and lasted until 12:30 pm. For this event, students from both Kapaa High and Kaua’i High Key Club participated in a large scale cleanup surrounding the park and beach. Our group focused more on the park/playground side, removing the litter along the way and placing them into our little buckets. As our bucket's got fuller, it was a shock seeing the different types of trash you wouldn’t expect to see at a playground. It was a great experience overall. I was hit with nostalgia seeing my childhood playground being renovated and I enjoyed seeing us high schoolers still goofing off just as if we were kids again. You’d be surprised with the amount of trash that piles up during such a short amount of time and i’m glad we could make it a cleaner place as it deserves to be.
The Kauai Matsuri Festival was held on October 12th from 9:15 am-3:00 pm at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall. The event showcased Japanese culture, featuring a variety of different performances and activities such as bon dancing, mochi making, taiko drumming, and much more. There were also many different food vendors to choose from including bentos, drinks, snacks, and more. Our Key Club project was divided into 2 shifts, the first shift helped set up the event, and the second shift later helped clean up. During the second shift from 11:30-4:00, we collected trash, counted the number of people, swept the floors, and put away tables and chairs. We also got to watch the cosplay contest, and participate in the bon dance. It was interesting to see the different stations at the festival, each representing an unique aspect of Japanese culture. Overall, I had a great time helping out with the other members at the Kauai Matsuri Festival.

On October 24th - 27th Kauai High School Key Club helped out with the Exploring FEAR and Phobias event that was ran by the C.O.G.S organization and Kukui Grove Center. This project was splitintodifferentshifts,4:00-7:00pmonThursday&Friday,11:00 -2:00pm&4:00-7:00pmonSaturdaythe26th,and11:00-2:00 pm & 3:00 - 6:00 pm on Sunday the 27th. During this event Key Club members helped out with maintaining and working at different stations across the exhibit. There were a total of 6 stations that we helped out with; the opening room where a member would play a video and then give them stones that would help them go to the next station, the Claustrophobic room where people had to sort out stones to make their way out, the arachnophobia section where people reached in a orby filled spider sack to get fake spiders and gain a prize, a acrophobia stage where people would walk across a fake ledge that represent walking along a tall building ledge, the misophonia section that was ran by multiple members, one playedavideo explainingwhattodoandfindinthemazeand another where the member would hand out candy, and lastly, the smoke machine corner where the members would help run thesmokemachine.Ipersonallythoughtthatthiseventwasvery fun and It was very enjoyable to help out with.
