untied Editor’s Note Bidding farewell to 2017 and hello to a promising 2018
This has been the best and the worst year. People have had lots of breakthroughs, some got promotion, while some received new opportunities. Some created opportunities for themselves and some tried knocking on doors they thought will bring them opportunity, but their hands got tired of knocking. In some areas things got out of hand for some and challenges pilled up and they ended their lives, while others saw opportunities in their challenges. They took advantage of the lemons and made lemonade which ended up making them money. They simply couldn’t give up on their hopes and dreams. Some of those who got tired of knocking ended up taking their lives, solving a temporary problem with a permanent solution. Though it was completely their decision but somewhere somehow society played its part in the matter. So they simply couldn’t face the judgement of their communities and decided that they were better of dead than alive.
5
Though this year brought sorrow to some of us it is highly important that we give thanks to the Lord for keeping us safe. He protected us and here we are alive, and doing what we love. If you don’t see any reason to celebrate today, do not put yourself under pressure and try to make easy happiness. Wait on the Lord because He knows better. He has walked the road you are walking on and he will show you the way. Waiting is not easy I know but the author and the finisher of your faith is at work. Praise him for all the good things that he is busy preparing. At Untied we are very thankful for your love and support. We thank you for the words of encouragement that you always send to us and I just want to say we heard you and we will fulfil your request as much as we can. Your love and support will never go un noticed, your views matter more that ours. And to Untied team and columnists, you are the best. God made you special, stay sweet. Until next time. Blessings to you all. Merry Christmas and happy new year!

tombenhle Shobede well known as Ntombie was born and raised in Empangeni, Kwa-Zulu Natal. She is a young song writer and musician who aspire to inspire young people with a dream. She may be young and new but there is a lot that she has to give to this world.
What were you like when you were growing up? I was a very lively and energetic kid when I was growing up. I loved to play a lot. I sometimes got into trouble with my parents because my sister and I would come home very late maybe after 6pm and my dad would spank us so bad. Would you say that music is your calling? I can definitely say that music is my calling. Even when I was growing up I loved to sing, I would make up songs, teach the trees pretending they were my students or sometimes perform for them as my audience. I sang a lot with my sisters and cousins and we used to have a singing group called Young Sisters. Who inspires you most in your music career? The late Whitest Houston was my great inspiration and still is, Jennifer Hudson, Lira, Adele and Tony Braxton are my inspirations as well. What are your personal and professional goals for the future?
7
My personal goals for the future is to get married, have kids, hahaha! Its every girls dream to have own family. Professionally my future goals are to be successful in my music career, be known all over the world, inspire young people and stay humbled.
Describe your typical week of work, what do you get up to exactly? My typical week of work, well I spend almost half of the day on my mobile phone, doing research, sending and responding to emails, attending my social media platforms to keep my fans updated. I get on the road to meet some event organizers since I am also managing my career. When the day ends I get back to being daughter to my dad, cook for him, check my emails for the last time and then call it a day. What are the tools of the trade that you use the most? Favourite gadgets. My iPhone is my favourite gadget, it has everything I need, and it is my everything. I record some clips every time I get inspired to write a song, it's my note book, my diary, song book, and my camera. I'm a very photogenic person and I love taking pictures and sharing them to my fans. It's my all in one gadget and tool.

How does the reality of your career as a musician differ from typical expectations?
For me the reality of a career as a musician differ from typical expectation, because people tend to think that musicians are just people who don't work hard. Some people think that we just travel around and sleep in expensive hotels, drive niece cars and live a good. They have this wild beliefs that we live a stress free life, of which it’s not always the case. Yes now and then we enjoy ourselves and relax and have a good time.
8
u
ntied But as a musician I can assure you that sometimes we have sleepless nights making the music, writing a song, traveling from one event to another and having to give the same level of energy to all of them. We put our hearts and souls to our work, trying our best to meet the needs of each and every one of our fans and leave everybody happy.
What is the message on your single ‘Right beside me’? My single 'Right Beside Me' tells the story about the strength and encouragement I have drawn from my dad over the years. Unfortunately I lost my mother when I was very young, I was 8 years old when she passed on. I have 5 siblings and my dad raised us on his own. He tried all his level best to create a better life for us without our mom. He had to play a role of a mother and father to me and my siblings. Few years ago I went through a very difficult time in my life, my dad was my strength during that time. He stood by me and supported me till the day it all got better. So this song was written and produced from that inspiration. Any plans of releasing an album? I am working on an EP and planning for it to be released early in 2018. Which gift would you prefer to be given if music was not on the option list? If music was not on my option list I would have liked to be gifted as a fashion designer.
9
“ I love dressing up and looking good. Sometimes I just wish I could make my own outfits because I love to stand out, be classy and decent. I don't really like to follow what's trending I just like to dress up stunningly and distinctively, and have something that not everyone have. If you could be given a chance to become president, what is the best thing you’ll do? If I could be given a chance to be president, the first thing I would do is to try by all means to provide cheap/affordable if not free tertiary education for disadvantaged students who can't afford university fees. I saw a very huge need to have less expensive education as I have also struggled to pay my tuition fees in the past. If it wasn't for my sponsors Mr and Mrs Kunene from Johannesburg, who offered to pay for my education and accommodation I wouldn't have had my IT Diploma. What is your motto? My motto is "Dreams Can Be Fulfilled"

Gospel artist Asanda Mcetywa: Reaching for the stars
sanda Mcetywa was born and raised in Zwide, New look. She started singing at the age of 10 with a group called Sinethemba, which was led by the late Ms Gcakasi known as Qhashane. She later founded and led a group known as New look cultural group. The group consisted of cultural dance, drama and music. Some of the group members were Lungelwa Bokuva, Zikhona Nokhomboyi, Nolise Teyise and many others. During the time she spent performing with the group she wrote and composed her first song which was titled "I believe in the Lord". She continued with her music career to date. Mcetywa recently entered a music competition that was hosted by Penuel Fellowship church, a local church in Port Elizabeth and she won first prize. We had a chat with her to hear more about what went down.
A
Weren’t you nervous during the competition? I wasn't much nervous on the first round. But during the last round after the other contestants were eliminated I got very nervous. I think I got an awakening and remembered that I'm in a competition. I even changed my second song and I sang a song that I wasn’t planning to sing on the competition. What kept you going till the end? Mmmm! What kept me going was to see my fellow sisters, whom I go to church with, Bulelwa Kato and Boniswa Ncazela. They encouraged me all the way. I remained authentic and didn’t change a thing about myself because I was the only contestant that was singing slow worship songs.
14
So I told myself I'm not going to change my style or try and fit in. So for me more than the event being a competition, it was another opportunity to worship God. Was there a time where you felt like your opponents we more gifted than you? Honestly after the first round, and having to hear all other contestants, I knew I would get atleast the second prize if I don't win first prize. There was one certain lady that I perceived as a rival in the competition, but she ended up taking home the second prize. Please describe to us the moment they announced that you are the winner. How was it like? Mmmm! I stood still, couldn’t move for a while. When I looked up everybody was running towards me, they hugged me, some were screaming and shouting. It took me a while to actually go to the front to get my prize. It was an amazing feeling that I never felt before, I felt very special. 5. Where do you see yourself in five years’ time? I won a recording deal and some money. Now I'm busy writing for my first single song, which we'll be released this December ethi ‘Umthandazo usenamandla’. In 5years time I want to see myself on radio, television even winning a Metro or SAMA award.
When you ask believing God will give you all your heart desires, there is indeed power in prayer. All the best to you Asanda. If you would like to know more about Asanda follow her on facebook @ Asanda Metywa.

Holidays Style Guide
I
t is that time of the year yet again, the holiday season. We all know what it means right, end of the year functions, family reunions, getaways, weddings, just a time filled with gatherings. Our fashion Focus at Untied this month will give you tips on what to wear and how to look the part, whether you're heading to a family shindig or an after-work office soiree, crib these style tips and lessons learned from some of our favourite fashionistas.
DO'S AND DON'TS DON'T be afraid to wear white. But, to avoid looking too bridal though choose an NONEfrilly outfit that is body conscious and features minimal embellishment. DO rock a little red dress, there is something about a lipstick red dress that feels modern, be bright and optimistic around the holidays. DON'T get caught in a too revealing outfit, holiday photographs last forever. What might seem cute and sexy when you getting dressed at home might turn out to be a little revealing in pictures later on. When in doubt, DO go simple and chic, instead of putting pressure on yourself and your wallet to find the ideal holiday party dress consider restyling clothes you already own. DO take inspiration from menswear and try sleek festive tuxedo. Straight from work to a cocktail party there's no need to change in ladies room.
17
The crispy white shirt under a sleek tuxedo look will take you seamlessly through the evening.
FUN WITH FLORALS Floral prints usually bring to mind that epic moment in The Devil Wears Prada when Meryl Streep says "Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking" so we also not ditching our florals anytime soon. Floral patterns are hot this summer, buds are showing up on everything from dresses to shoes to purses. You don't have to be a teenager to wear this playful pattern. Today’s florals come in many varieties of age friendly colours, sizes and prints, from artsy brushstroke buds to abstract blooms. You just have to pick pieces that will take you through from holidays fashion to become a closet staples.
MUST HAVE ITERM THIS SEASON.
KIMONO ROBE has been rediscovered as one of the coolest items to have in your closet. Wearing it might seem difficult, but adapting it to your own style and combining it with items from your closet is actually easier than it seems. Those who love a simple look can use it as a layering detail on all-black outfit, for those with gypsy soul combine it with ankle boots and shorts, those with a rock spirit can choose dark colours and wear it with boots or sneakers and t-shirt. And for the evening all you need is a pair of killer heels and sparkling jewellery to show off its elegance side. For those that don't feel like wearing it in the city, just put it in your summer/spring luggage wear it at the seaside over your swimsuit, it will be the chic detail that makes the difference.

When the love of shoes is bigger that your pocket or your shoe size I used to think that feet stays the same when people get older is feet. That they enlarge instead. But I was wrong, I have come to notice that my feet have actually shrunk. They grow till a certain stage and then they stop growing. I am not the only one, I have a number of people who a faced with the same thing. Decreasing from a size 4 to size 3, without turning back can encounter limits to how much use or abuse they can take. Could it be that it is our feet that change or manufactures use different types of shoe size? Or could the size change due to the make of the shoe? We could never be really sure. In all that, there is one thing I know that grows and that is the love of shoes. Just seeing a beautiful pair, makes most hearts pump fast and mind go bananas. On that moment it doesn't matter how much it cost up until you reach home. It is then that you realize that it cost a fortune. You have no choice but to hold on to it so you say you can't take it back. That has nothing to do with the shoe store but because you have fallen deeply in love with this beautiful piece of art you can't let go. That is how a shoe addicted person acts. There is nothing wrong in loving and buying shoes, but it’s how we react when we see that beautiful pair that makes music in our heart. Love shoes, love beautiful things but shop wisely

The fashion Revolution Vintage clothing is a generic term for garments originating from a previous era. During the olden days people were governed by Monarchy Rule (Queens and Kings) and people were divided into classes of people Rich,
middle and poor same goes to their fashion senses there were clothes that poor people could not wear. But fabric (material) that was used was in very good quality regardless how poor or rich you are.
"Vintage clothing" is a finely constructed clothing from the past; clothing which meets high and generally agreed standards of aesthetic quality. These standards are set both by the marketplace in and by experts with long experience in the field. "From the past" denotes fine clothing which has survived in good condition and which has been preserved specifically because of its intrinsic beauty and not only for its wear ability. "The past" may be the distant past or the more recent past, egg., antique clothing such as an early 20th century embroidered tulle cape. Now coming back to today, things have changed but not that much. Yes we do have expensive clothes and all but guess what, Vintage is not very costly. We have vintage designer labels that are affordable fashion has never been this great. Just make sure you go to the right stores to get nice pieces of Vintage.

Your expectations of me, not mine Summer body? What is that? Until now, I do not understand who gets to decide what a summer body is. However, the media and the society does have expectations on what a “summer body” should look like and we do give in to those expectations sometimes, leaving us depressed because we set unrealistic standards just to fit in. They have their expectations on how you should look; they create those expectations, not you. So why should you manage expectations you didn’t create? YES - you do not have a perfect slender body, you have jiggly arms, dimpledthighs and the relationship you have between your thigh-gap ended a very long time ago, but that does not mean you should conform to what they consider as “perfect” Well, you do not owe these two platforms any summer body. If you are comfortable in your own skin, own shape then flaunt what you were blessed with. Enjoy your body. Use it in every way you can and do not be afraid of it or what other people think of it.

Do you shop online or conventionally There is never been a better time to be an entrepreneur. 21st century and its powerful and affordable technology has made it a lot more easier for any individual or people to start any business, social media as well has made it possible to promote business in an effective way and that is not pretty much expensive than advertisements and billboards. Recently Retail businesses are seen as the way of making fast cash because it’s actually a day-to-day operational business, retail business owners make fast money through their products. Retail stores can be Small, Boutiques operations, china malls that sell nice products, these stores are good places to actually look for winter, summer or full-time clothes.
Normally it depend with assistance personality, some people are naturally made to assist people with courtesy and love. Others they assist because they are in need of a job and end up delivering sour service. "Retail assistance are ever mean to people, you would swear that they are all related especially females" concluded Somyali. Online shopping’s can be very convenient to everyone because you do not have to meet the sour retail assistants, or standing in the long queues. People should start considering online shopping its much more convenient, fast and very easy.
But the experiences or threats people receive at some retails shops are quite unreasonable. At times you would ask a retail assistance for a size of a shoe you want to buy but they would probably won’t even listen to what you saying, some would literally ignore you. "went to do Christmas shopping during December last year and retails assistances were very nice and helpful with everything I ask them", says Siyakholwa Somyali.

Few tips to make your skin sparkle Cold weather certainly takes a toll on the skin, leaving it dry and lacking some muchdesired luster. Thankfully though, there are some quick and easy steps you can do to treat your skin to a spring clean-up and have that special glow return, just in time for summer. Clean it up, but keep it cold: Making sure your skin is clean is the first step to success to a healthy complexion and radiant glow. Properly cleansing your skin not only takes care of dirt that can clog your pores and weaken your skin’s condition, but it also helps to remove the dry skin cells that tend to build up and cause impurities. Using a gentle cleanser without chemicals is key. My personal favourite is a fruit cider wash made by Frownies, which you can order online or get in our office. Be Careful With The Creams: It is easy to get wowed by all the promises different creams and lotions boast about, but unfortunately a lot of the marketing masks what is really lurking in the products that can actually be quite damaging to the skin. Something as simple as alcohol will actually dry out your skin, and is found in most of the leading brands of creams and lotions, among a host of other chemicals that are damaging to your skin’s health. Face it: Moisturizing is important. Our face needs moisture, but our daily lives, make-up, dirt and bacteria all fight against us.
For your face, it is very important to use moisturizers that are gentle and chemical free, because the skin on your face is of the most sensitive on your body. The stand out moisturizers: Coconut Oil is a great daily moisturizer for dry to normal skin. It is great for the entire body and is a natural antiseptic which helps to fight off microorganisms from penetrating your skin’s barrier, as well as having anti-fungal properties, which helps battle an array of skin conditions. Immune Perfect by Frownies is another standout product, especially for people wanting to provide even more benefits to their moisture routine. It is an alcohol free moisturizer that is Aloe Vera based that provides 18 hours if continual hydration once it penetrates through the skin barrier. It is great for all over the face, and is especially good for around the eyes where the skin is very delicate and usually requires different products then the rest of the face. Inside Matters: Drinking plenty of water will help keep the skin hydrated and vibrant, as well as having a diet rich in Omega 3 oils. Omega 3 oils will help to keep your skin cells strong and stable which is the ideal foundation to build from. A plant based whole foods diet is one of the best ways to ensure skin health and to eliminate toxins in your body that are forced out through your skin.

Need help to balance them out? Here is how
If they're small, thick brows might overshadow them, so you'll want to choose a brow thickness that's slightly thinner. The size of your lips. A good general rule of thumb is that your eyebrows should be about the same thickness as your upper lip. This can help 'tie the look together'. If you look at pictures of models in magazines than you'll notice this is the case with many of them. The distance between your brows and your eyes. If you have a low brow bone that is set close to your eyes, you'll want to pull up your brows a bit to lighten the area. If you have a high brow line spaced well above your eyes, heavier brows might provide a more balanced look. Your style preferences. Sometimes thick, bushy eyebrows are in style, and sometimes more people prefer them to be thin and welltailored. Think about what style you're going for before you dive into plucking your brows.

Hair
Keep your hair clean and healthy with these few easy steps 37
•
Wash and condition your hair once or twice a week. Try to use mild and gentle shampoo and a very moisturizing conditioner designed for chemically-treated hair. If you have sensitive skin, consider using shampoos that do not contain Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate or Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. Paul Mitchell is an excellent line for damaged/chemically-treated hair. Using a deep conditioner that contains both protein and moisture once per week is ideal, try Organic Root Stimulator Replenishing Pak or Paul Mitchell Hair Repair. Chemically-treated hair must always be treated with a leave-in conditioner after every wash. Motions Nourish is a great example of this. Comb the damp hair with a wide tooth comb or shower/detangling comb with a very slippy conditioner in it as wet hair is in its most vulnerable state and is more likely to break.
• For those who need to wash more frequently than every once or twice a week, "CO-washing" (Conditioner Only washing) is an excellent alternative to the wash/condition. • Cowashing is washing your hair with a lightweight moisturizing conditioner, eliminating the shampoo step which can be very drying to chemically treated/damaged hair when done relatively too frequently. This can even be done daily. For best results, simply rinse the hair well with warm water, and apply conditioner to the hair, starting about 2 inches (5.1 cm) away from the scalp, and smooth it through to the ends. Apply more to the ends if they are dry
37
. Avoid applying conditioner to the scalp unless it is dry. Rinse conditioner very well. • It is best to avoid using heat to dry your hair, especially if the relaxed hair is somewhat damaged. Hair should be left to air dry at least partially before using a blow dryer on a low to medium temperature setting. However, if your hair is healthy and you prefer heat, you can either blow dry the hair on medium heat or use a hood dryer with magnetic rollers. The hair should be completely dry before you use a curling or flat iron on it. Make sure to use a heat protection product prior to any heat use.
• When using a curling iron to style your hair, do not allow the barrel cover to clamp down on your hair. Hold the barrel cover slightly open and allow the hair to move over the curling iron barrel without the tugging and pulling caused by pressure from the barrel cover. Whenever the barrel cover clamps down on your hair it creates a weak point at which breakage is inevitable.

DECEMBER FEAST: The prevailing life style during the festive season
T
hrough out the year we work hard, putting in all our strength on our hustle; be it with your studies, job, H business, and relations. Perhaps you had a lot on your plate and all you need now is a break or a vacation, have some fun and relax. But are we really having that? It is without doubt that December is that time of the year, where typical people stop all the hassle on what is required, essentials and focuses more on what they desire. These days all you hear these days is what to wear, what to eat, and which places to go. It’s nerve-racking yet so thrilling that we go through all kinds of trouble for that “ecstasy”, the joy of making memories, sharing and the end results are predictable. There very long queues at the Bank ATMs, traffic is a nightmare, accidents on the road. Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights out and when Monday comes Mondayblues is knocking. You’d find that some things that occurred on the weekend are vague and some can’t make sense. Some wake up in Hospitals, some in jail and that is because of the unruly crimes that surrounds us, unforeseen events and drinking and driving.
39
It’s not pretty but it’s our reality. Our safety therefore lies in hope; we kneel down and pray because in God we trust. Putting it all on his mighty hands. Festive season is all about love as we are supposed to spend quality time with loved ones. Nowadays it is rare to find those big dinner family celebrations or braai’s because we want to attend every party that we get invited to. Nonetheless, you find people leading a lifestyle they cannot afford, not only to impress, but for the thrill going beyond limits of pleasure. Decisions making is crucial at this time be careful of what you decide on. There is a high level of temptations, putting weight on the plans, jeopardizing our physical and financial security.
Some people might not feel the same way but December is only just another 30 days and its passing. Then following month will come which is Janu-worry. Some folks are keeping it simple making it cost effective, knowing that at the end of every finish line is the beginning of a new race. Merry Christmas.

Turning dreams into reality
W
e all have a vision of what we would like our future to turn out, be it in 3years to 10 years from now but we all have a dream we would like to fulfill by a specific time. But, without a plan or some motivation to followthrough, they can be a waste of time. The problem is that we procrastinate everything. Instead of talking and wishing, let’s put it into action. Sometimes the things we wish to achieve are attainable, we just need to start. It is easier for people to support us when they see we are willing to go the extra mile; when we are invested in turning our own dreams into reality. Does that mean we will never face problems, absolutely not! But when the problems come we will be able to survive because we know the destination that we would like to reach and we have a plan. Success is not a result of chance, it is a result of focus, determination, hard work, motivation and the unstoppable desire to be great at the one or many things you are passionate about.
A few things to consider when turning your dreams into reality:
1. Take action – today! 2. You might fail, get up and try again. 3. Believe that it is possible. 4. Be committed to turning your dream into reality. 5. Be consistent. 6. Be realistic and don’t make excuses. 7. Do it, enough of the talking.

spending tips
T
he festive season, usually beginning mid-November right through to January, is a very joyous period filled with nothing but the best of the good times. It is a time where people gather with their loved ones, family and friends over occasions such as braais, family dinners, and getaways with friends and a whole lot more. Often, many see this time of year as one where they become rather generous with their pockets, meaning the spending of money that occurs. Some start with planning and budget at the beginning of the year, preparing themselves for the festive season so that money is spent cautiously and accordingly. However, many also don't budget and merely start spending as soon as that 13th cheque rolls in. The question at hand is, how do you avoid overspending during the festive season? With the madness of the festive season, avoiding spending is almost unavoidable. Temptation is real and consumers often struggle with saying no to sale items and end up splurging huge amounts of money on items they don't need. Seven tips to manage your over spending Here are some helpful tips to keep track of your finances and avoid a 'financial hangover’ :
1. Don't be an emotional spender. Always remember your financial goals and keep to your budget. 2. If you can't afford it now, then don't buy it on credit. 3. Don't increase your credit card limit just so you can be part of the festive season frenzy. 4. Save from the beginning of the year, so you can be in a better financial position to spend during the festive season. 5. Remember, being emotionally committed to your finances will serve you in the end. You will think twice before buying and every purchase will be justified. 6. If you are going to buy items on sale, remember to know how much you can spare to spend and keep to that budget. Don't be afraid to keep that calculator close to you and punch in every purchase to see if you are still within your budget. 7. Know when to stop.

untied Mind your own business It is tempting sometimes to get involved in other people’s private discussions, lives, and difficulties. Though, trapping yourself with personal dramas that don’t affect directly, you can be both obstructive to the parties concerned and damaging to your own mental health. You will be happier and earn more respect from your peers if you learn when and how to mind your own business. Minding your own business doesn’t mean avoiding responsibility or ignoring the world around you. It basically means knowing when it’s best to avoid interfering. Know when to speak and when not to. Understand that by minding your own business you are also helping yourself not to fall into a trap that was not meant to be for you. Recognize if an issue directly concerns you or not. Unless you are an immediate participant in a personal situation, it’s best to mind your business by not getting yourself directly involved. Even if you are indirectly affected by an issue, which does not mean that it’s about you or give you the right to intervene. Keep in mind that this is not to say that you should not get involved with social issues, like poverty or children’s health, that don’t affect you directly. Those are good initiative and are worth taking part in. minding your own business means that you should not meddle in other people’s personal lives. Respect boundaries.
Recognize that everyone has a right to privacy and that each person is in charge of their own lives. One good way of respecting boundaries is being careful not to overstep your relationship with a person. For instance, if you’re dealing with someone who is a co-worker or client, be sure to keep your interactions professional. If you’re not a child’s parent, it’s not a good idea to try and discipline them. Another important element of respecting boundaries is accepting other people’s right to their own values, beliefs, and opinions. While you may disagree with them, it’s often best to mind your own business rather than trying to interfere with others’ belief systems. Pay attention to cues. Step back when people communicate directly or indirectly that you should do so. Respect others when they tell you that something is not your business and/or change the subject. Even when they don’t explicitly tell you to butt out, be aware of what their body language is saying. For instance, if people are avoiding eye contact, angling away from you, or crossing their arms as you speak, they’re probably silently asking for you not to interrupt or intervene.

Slow down, relax and enjoy the festive season without a hustle
D
ecember, a time for family and joyous celebration. A month where people experience the hustle of Christmas and new
year’s. Yes, all of this seems like something well deserved yet, we are still surrounded by stress. We overload ourselves with responsibilities that tap into much of our concentration that wears us out. Stress and Anxiety is shown to be related to accelerated aging. Stress accelerates aging on a cellular level. Anxiety puts you at risk for several aging-related disorders. Relaxation on the other hand has shown to reverse the effects of stress related aging. The counterpart of the stress response is the relaxation response, which is a physical state of deep rest that changes physical and emotional responses to stress. There are various health benefits for deep relaxation but, you’ll have to do more than lounging on the couch in front of the TV to reap the benefits form deep relaxation. To achieve this deep state of relaxation you may partake in activities like; self-hypnosis, guided imagery or meditation.
Relaxation may help to: Boost Immunity: Meditation is known to have a significant effect on immune cells, and research shows relaxation exercises may boost natural killer cells in the elderly, leading to increased resistance to tumors and viruses.
Fertility: Research suggests women are more likely to conceive when they’re relaxed as opposed to when they’re stressed.
Heart Health: Relaxation via meditation (done once or twice daily for three months) significantly lowers blood pressure and psychological distress, and also bolsters coping ability in people at increased risk of hypertension.
Mental Health: People who meditate note reductions in psychological distress, depression, and anxiety.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS): When people with IBS practiced relaxation meditation twice daily, their symptoms (including bloating, belching, diarrhea, and constipation) improved significantly.

farewell 2017 We welcomed 2017 with warm hands, embraced everything that come with it. We embraced the love and joy it brought as well as the sorrow it dragged along. We lost loved ones and gained new additional members in our families. Our country was faced with lots of challenges, of which we still are. Our economic status is a sham and we still continue watching it reduction to nothing, we are now crossing fingers and living with uncertainties. We have seen honourable members of parliament strangling each other’s throats fighting for “human rights”. How can I forget the huge change that took place in Zimbabwe.
47
Maybe some of you would ask, why is that any of our business? But it is our business, Zimbabwe is our sister and when they celebrate we must celebrate with them, and we should do the same when other countries have conquered. So many unpleasant incidents occurred as well as pleasant ones. We could say that 2017 was bitter sweet. But weariness is not an option celebration should be. As we approach 2018, let us forgive and forget what 2017 did to us. Let us put to rest every sorrow, set back, struggle, disappointment, mistakes and rejections. Let’s rather focus on making the best of 2018. Begin by telling 2018 what will happen. Tell 2018 to treat you well. Happy newyear.
Hello 2018

Start a new school year smart
I
ts all about new beginnings! Its a new year, new school, new grade and different teachers. You probably shy and scared around this time but its okay because it is normal to behave like that in a new environment. Don't worry because it won't last for long. You should always remember to choose good friends who are more likely to be like you because they represent you in your absence. You don't need to follow what others are doing. Being unique and outstanding will never be antiquated because we shine by standing out. No one ever said fitting in such groups will do you good.
49
Some of us were made to flourish. Also having a respect for your educators will do, because at the end of the year you will need them. School is a place where we grow and be allowed to dream and make those dreams come through also having fun. You don't have to be so serious at many times that you even forget that you are growing, Because we grow by learning and by learning we grow. Be unique and start your own new year school smartly!

By: Prophet K Tukwayo ASSIGNMENT CAN DRY UP THE SOURCE OF PROVISION:
I remember during the 2008 worldwide recession that a journalist was interviewing comedian Jim Carey asking his thoughts about the recession. Jim Carey's response was, "are we in a recession? I don't know I am rich" This was the same situation with the prophet, he was living in his own world waking up with food he did not prepare, morning and evening . The problem with Elijah is that he was not called to hide, he had an anointing and a gifting upon his life to prophesy and set the captives free. He might have made it where he was but his life was not impacting anybody. ROMANS 14:17 says "For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit." So as much as all these things are important for our survival but do not carry purpose in them. WHEN PURPOSE DICTATES:
COMFORT ZONE 1KINGS 17:7 "Some time later the brook dried up because there had been no rain the land." All of us whether believer or not we love our place of comfort. As a result it is difficult for God to uproot us and send us to the next assignment, mainly because we think the place where we are is comfortable because God made it that way so we don't expect God to say anything different. Blessings have a tendency of speaking louder than any other voice even the voice of God. Elijah was blessed by God that in a time when everyone was experiencing a season of drought that he was sent to hide in the Kerith Ravine east of the Jordan. "You will drink from the brook and I have instructed the ravens to supply you with food there" 1KINGS 17:3-4. It still happens when everybody around you is in financial troubles but you are living in abundance.
51
Purpose has a tendency of rudely uprooting us from all we love. Purpose dries up the brook of provision As long as there is a continuous flow of water we will stay in the ravines. The same God who had given Elijah the brook, is the same God that dried up the brook, because now He had a greater assignment for the Prophet. A woman was in a more desperate situation than a man feeding himself day and night doing nothing. A widow at Zarephath with her son were on their last meal and about to die and now God was concerned about these lives therefore to save them He dried up the Prophet's provision. ASSIGNMENT-DEPLOYMENT When you cushy job and high flying life suddenly comes to an abrupt end, it may not always be a curse. It may be because you are deployed where you were to learn important land valuable lessons which you need to take to the next level of your life.
People may be crying to God somewhere and you may be an answer to a widow, an orphan, the sick and forgotten or even to governments, churches and nations. Your current position may be utilizing 20% of the capabilities that are in you. Therefore trust God, it may be painful but know that all things work together for good for them that love the Lord and are the called to His purpose. You contract may have come to an end at the end of this year, trust 2018 to be a YEAR OF DESTINY. Merry Christmas and happy new year. God bless.

The world we live in and its brutality When I think of the term “woman”, the first thing that comes to mind is the word “Queen”, an imperishable being. When you put her into fire she comes out glittering, shining and sharper than anything. She is definitely more than the body she occupies, a mover of mountains, non-confirming to impediments standing in her path to be great. Atleast that is how I understand it should be. But that could only be in a different kind of world, not n this one we live in. Even in this day and age there is still discrimination and women are always an object of the matter. We have different opinions, I have my own opinion and you have yours and the rest of society has its own. Perhaps that is where the problem starts, we don’t see eye to eye. We have different views and different cultures. We claim to be this free and unified rainbow nation, a fair society with a better life for all. We have been singing that song since 1994 and 23 years later, we are still on conflict. Culture forms an integral part of our being, it defines us in other words, culture says, this is how we are, this is what we do, and this is how we do what we do. Each culture has its own practise but at this day and age I strongly believe that some should rather deemed unworthy to be part of what we’re known for. I reprimand it because some cultures have proved to be a cancer not only to an individual but to the identity of African society. The manner in which we are raised also contributes towards how things have become in our lives today. Some kids grow up in love less homes, where both regularly consume alcohol or whatever else in an attempt to forget or should I rather say avoid facing their “demons”. In some cases, households are child headed maybe both parents have died or the kids were being raised by a single mother who has died and now they are trying to make it on their own.
53
I can go on and on as there is a variety of things that I can think of that are the foundation of what we see today. The majority of these cases results in one being misguided and without love. In the process, they lack love, values as well as principles on how to carry one-self in society amongst others. Sometimes it’s not the lack of knowledge that has detrimental consequences. But rather the type of knowledge and values that are instilled in kids while raising them which in turn develops them which in turn develops into one vicious cycle. There was once a story that portrayed the life of a girl who was involved in an arranged marriage. One of the motives behind why this custom was practiced in her family was that “ingcwaba lentombi lisemzini”, which translates (a girl’s final resting place is at her matrimonial home). So this means that her father who was arranging this did not see the significance of sending the girl child to school, but saw her as being better off with some other family whether or not she likes it. FOR WHAT? POWER? INFLUENCE? What kind of a nation are we raising? Is it one where children and women should live in fear? Where man treat them as these vulnerable little creatures they can love today and shove off tomorrow and abuse? Where girls think that it is ok to jump to one man to another in “business transactions” relationships? Why don’t we create a universal culture then? One in which women and children are empowered liberated and loved. Where young girls are raised to love themselves and to chase after hopes and dreams or dynasty. Where young boys are taught to be good men and women given love without hesitation. Let us love and appreciate our loved ones. Happy holidays.

Please make sure that kids are alright Please make sure that kids are alright. Keep them safe and give support when it is due. Nitasha Mtyana is doing a good job in showing us what “making sure kids are alright” truly means. She took in kids in her area and is training them dance and music. This initiative was triggered by the love of kids and as a Project management student she saw it as an window of opportunity. "They saw that they are also important and their talent is needed out there. Other kids are enjoying themselves to build their confidence.

Children always want to do better than others. When they saw their peers dancing and singing they approached me and said sisNita ‘we can do better than them’. So they wanted an opportunity to prove that they can do something”. Stated Nitasha Mtyana their coordinator. They have not yet labelled what they are doing but they know what they want to achieve. Though they are young, these beautiful kids seem to know what they want and they are doing exactly that. They are the leaders we need for tomorrow. Lets love them, protect them and put their needs first

The fashion hits and misses in 2017 1.
K Naomi is rocking this dress like a queen. It is quite an exquisite masterpiece. The silhouette of the dress is simply amazing. 2. This lady never disappoints. She always looks stunning. Winter summer, autumn, spring, and I assume she knows that she rocks. This body hugging stunning dress looks good on her. I sometimes wonder if it’s the designer clothes she wears that makes her look good or its her that makes the clothes look good on her. 3. Skolopad, Skolopad, Skolopad! She decided to bring the butchery to the party. She just could hold her love for sausage as a secret any more. Yes we understand she don’t want any beef with anyone, but she must please live the poor sausage alone. I mean she is gorgeous, clothes will make her look more good. 4. I adore his energy and he is never shy. Always on point even in what he does, he is amazing. But this outfit though! I am not sure what he was trying to achieve but it didn’t work out. Looks like he was trying to fuse together modern and traditional. Though the beads look heavy, they are beautiful. It’s the top that doesn’t make sense.
