untied Editor’s Note no longer slave to fear, dare to be a dreamer "Our deepest fear is not that we are weak. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world ... As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." These are the words that were spoken by the late Nelson Mandela. Such powerful words. Indeed what we carry is beyond measure, no mathematics genius is able to calculate what God has placed in each and everyone of us. We carry greatness and we are of great value. A writer once said that if your dreams do not scare you, they are not big enough. Dream dreams that makes you to shake in your boots when thinking about the success ahead. Be the kind of dreamer that believes in themselves even if other people have lost hope.

Be a dreamer. Just like Joseph in the bible he had a dream and his dream was big. His father and siblings couldn't bring themselves to believing him. But in the end all came pass. On this month’s issue: minding your own business seems to be the best thing that you could ever do for yourself. Read more info on Introvert.com’s column. Putting your nose in other peoples business seems to be easier than minding your own. Well that is what we think but fact is minding your own business it the easiest. Stop pocking your nose in other people’s business and start building yourself. You do have a de=ream right? So focus on that. We have Anezwa Gcilitshana on the cover a model. Andisiwe Mbopa AKA Andy the Designer tells us about Fashion essentials this winter. We have food, fashion, good laughs, spiritual nourishment and a little bit of everything you will need. Enjoy!

Beauty Queen with a big heart

She is a humble soul, beautiful inside out, intelligent and bright. This beauty doesn’t only depend on her outside appearance to get by she is also an academic. She obtained a degree in social work at the University of Fort Hare. She is a model which hails from the dusty streets of Herschel in the Eastern Cape and her name is Anezwa Gcilitshana. We got a chance to sit down and chat with this lovely being.

Yes I always loved modelling, I was always fascinated when watching models on TV. My grandmother used to say when seeing Naomi Campbell on TV, "there's Anezwa, my beautiful girl". My aunt used to buy me stilettos and do my hair all the time when she came to my house, "may her soul RIP". She praised me a lot, she made me her doll, and she told me I was going to be a beautiful model one day. And I believe it then and there.

Which shoots are the most interesting shoots that you’ve done? The Miss Varsity Shield photo shoot in Bloemfontein, The "Shanty Town", photo cred by Johann du Toit of Picture Café.

Where are your originally from? I was born and bred in Herschel. How did your modelling come about? My mother used to engage me in beauty pageants when I was still at primary school. I continued with pageants till I was at University, after that opportunities started to pop in. Sometime when I was doing my first year, I just thought to myself, why not? Why can’t I just try modelling, more especially on the ramp because I love cat walking? Lol I believed that I am a “catwalk guru" and it will assist me a lot with the pageants I enjoyed to enter. Have you ever thought that one day you would be a model?

Do you have a skin care routine? I used to have one but not anymore. In 2014 I developed acne and I was frustrated. Then I went to the doctor, he prescribed a 6 months treatment for me. Now I am acne free but I don't have any skin care routine. What is your biggest Luxury? I do not really have one, or rather I am not a luxurious individual. But then I love shopping, more especially shoes. I love shoes so much. How do you stay in shape? You won't believe me but this body comes naturally. I do nothing. Please don't bite my head off, I have already observed that you don't believe me! Giggles I am cautious about a healthy living and I understand that exercising is life, but I am too lazy and I am afraid if I start and then stop I would gain some weight.

Maybe I will start the gym thing to keep my shape when I have started having children. But I do tone now and then... How would you define your personal style?

I am a no style person, I dress up to anything that suits me. I don't have a specific style of dressing up. Who is your style icon? Bonang, she does it for me. Do you have any wardrobe staples? Oh yes, definitely shoes, shoes oh I cannot live without shoes. Is there anything that caught your eye for the upcoming season? No not at all, like I said I am not a fashionista, so I do not even follow the fashion trends.

Best advice you’ve ever received? “Education is key”. When parents send you to school they aren’t doing it for them but for you. A girl has got steps of dresses to wear in her lifetime. You cannot start with a maternity dress before the prom dress, lastly in all life endeavours, “trust in the Lord”.

Right now I have almost worn all the dresses accordingly, my Matric Dance dress, Graduation dress two times, a Wedding dress and I now left with a Maternity dress to wear. And I will wear it with pride. I am living my life with God by my sides. Because in all that I have achieved so far it's all because of God and that advice I was given and I implanted within me. What do you do in your downtime?

“I am living my life with God by my sides. Because in all that I have achieved so far it's all because of God”

Okay let me begin here, I talk a lot. I am a morning person I talk when I wake up. I am always cheerful, as a result I don't like to associate myself with people with mood swings. So to avoid doing the same to people, on my downtime I just study. I know when I am doing my school work no one will interfere with my space. Studying and reading to me is therapeutic.

What is your greatest accomplishment as a model? The Miss Heritage South Africa journey thought me a lot, the journey was not easy I had to look for sponsors. I learned that when you want something, you do not rest and in life you need a purpose and a goal. Without a goal there is no purpose. Winning the competition as a 1st princess was a milestone because I worked hard for the competition. After that competition I am now living the spirit of giving. As a model I have a project that I have started with Matric high school girls. But I do not want to be loud about it as I am still looking for funding and it's not yet strong. I am taking the baby steps, but I am going far with it.

Enhance your beauty Step 1 Using a small brush or sponge apply a light colour from your brow bone to the top of the fold of the eye. Step 2 Apply your medium colour eyeshadow from your eyelashes to just above fold of your eye. This will be the main colourof your eye. Blend your medium eyeshadow with the light colour where they meet. Using a thin brush and getting as close to the eyelashes as possible, apply a thin line under your eye. Step 3 Using a thin brush, apply a dark colour eyeshadow very lightly on the fold of your eye. Apply this colour from the middle of your fold to the outer corner and fold to the outer corner and above your eyelashes. untied Mind your own business

I

t is tempting sometimes to get involved in other people’s private discussions, lives, and difficulties. Though, trapping yourself with personal dramas that don’t affect directly, you can be both obstructive to the parties concerned and damaging to your own mental health. You will be happier and earn more respect from your peers if you learn when and how to mind your own business. Minding your own business doesn’t mean avoiding responsibility or ignoring the world around you. It basically means knowing when it’s best to avoid interfering. Know when to speak and when not to. Understand that by minding your own business you are also helping yourself not to fall into a trap that was not meant to be for you. Recognize if an issue directly concerns you or not. Unless you are an immediate participant in a personal situation, it’s best to mind your business by not getting yourself directly involved. Even if you are indirectly affected by an issue, which does not mean that it’s about you or give you the right to intervene. Keep in mind that this is not to say that you should not get involved with social issues, like poverty or children’s health, that don’t affect you directly. Those are good initiative and are worth taking part in. minding your own business means that you should not meddle in other people’s personal lives.

By: Introvert.com 25

Respect boundaries. Recognize that everyone has a right to privacy and that each person is in charge of their own lives. One good way of respecting boundaries is being careful not to overstep your relationship with a person. For instance, if you’re dealing with someone who is a coworker or client, be sure to keep your interactions professional. If you’re not a child’s parent, it’s not a good idea to try and discipline them. Another important element of respecting boundaries is accepting other people’s right to their own values, beliefs, and opinions. While you may disagree with them, it’s often best to mind your own business rather than trying to interfere with others’ belief systems. Pay attention to cues. Step back when people communicate directly or indirectly that you should do so. Respect others when they tell you that something is not your business and/or change the subject. Even when they don’t explicitly tell you to butt out, be aware of what their body language is saying. For instance, if people are avoiding eye contact, angling away from you, or crossing their arms as you speak, they’re probably silently asking for you not to interrupt or intervene.

“You will be happier and earn more respect from your peers if you learn when and how to mind your own business”

Financial advice

10 Signs You Are Financially Stable People often spend most of their lives chasing financial stability. But is it possible that you may already be financially stable? Or is it possible that you might be drowning yourself in debt and can’t afford anything? Well here are 27 signs that you’re financially stable – already! And if you’re not, you can start working to make a lot of these a reality in your life. 1. You Never Overdraw Your Checking Account Even if you have overdraft protection with your checking account, you still prefer to keep a cushion in your account, rather than relying on the protection. And you absolutely, positively, never bounce a check! Part of it has to do with your aversion to paying overdraft fees. But mostly, it’s because you have a sufficient amount of money that you can keep more in your checking account then you need in a typical month. How could you, Jeff? You're a Certified Financial Planner!

finances are in balance, and you are satisfied with the direction that things are heading. Even if you have financial challenges over the horizon, you have some sort of plan set up to deal with it before it comes. That’s all anyone can do – and you’ve already got it covered. 4. You Have No Ugly Credit Card Balances It’s not at all unusual for people who have high incomes and a large amount of financial assets to also carry great big, ugly credit card balances. That’s not a game that you play. You absolutely refuse to carry credit card balances that can’t be paid off relatively quickly. And that keeps you from paying high interest rates, and from losing sleep at night.

2. You’re Never Late with Payments This is partially because you always have plenty of money to pay your bills, but also because of your preference for being ahead of your finances, rather than behind. This is also a big reason why you don’t lose sleep over your finances. When you go to bed at night, you know that your bills are paid, and all is right for world. 3. You’re Generally Happy with Your Financial Situation This doesn’t mean that your financial situation is completely perfect, but rather that your

5. You Finance Your Cars Over Five Years or Less – If You Take Loans at All

Even though there are car loans available as far out as seven years, you keep your car loans to five years or less. Or you pay cash for your cars, or you pay them off ahead of schedule. That means that you won’t live your life carrying a perpetual car loan payment. That also means that when you buy a new car, it’s very likely that you’ll be making a larger than average down payment on it – which is why you take shorter loans in the first place.

28

6. You Contribute a Double-Digit Percentage of Your Pay to Retirement

8. You Can Afford to Buy the Things You Really Want

Many, many people contribute nothing more than the minimum percentage that they need in order to get the maximum employer match on their retirement contributions.

If you really want something, you go out and buy it. Your finances are strong enough to enable you to get those things that you really want.

But that’s not a game that you play.

This isn’t at all about impulse spending on an ongoing basis, but rather about having enough room in your budget to get the things that you really want. In that way, money doesn't rule you.

You recognize the importance of aggressive retirement investing as a critical part of becoming financially stable. You either make the maximum retirement contribution that you’re allowed, or your contribution is well into double digits percentages. And because you do, early retirement is actually a legitimate consideration in your life. Investing and feeling good about it has never been easier with great online brokerage tools such as Betterment. Learn more about them on our Betterment Review page. 7. You Don’t Feel Guilty when you’re Out for Special Occasions Everybody has episodes were they spend a little bit too much money. This can happen on special occasions, such as birthdays, holidays, vacations, and other celebrations. But for you, these events are not budget busters. You have enough flexibility built into your budget that you can accommodate the occasional spending spree without having too much month at the end of your paycheck.

29

9. You’re a Natural Saver

This is one of the key habits in becoming financially stable – and it’s one that you mastered a long time ago. You’ve been doing it so long and so well, that you are virtually a natural saver. You can do it with a sense of purpose, and without ever feeling any pangs of self-denial. 10. You Feel In Control of Your Finances Overall, you have a strong sense that you are in control your finances. This means that when it comes to money, you have choices. And since money creates options in life, you have more than the average person. This is what being financially stable is all about, and what the ultimate goal of it should be. Being able to do what you want, when you want, and on your own terms.

How to Open a Restaurant

O

pening a new restaurant can be a risky business venture, but with the right planning, financing and lots of hard work it's definitely achievable. Owning a successful restaurant could be one of the most exciting and rewarding experiences of your life. So go out and show them what you are made of.

Determine a food concept. A food concept is the first thing to consider when planning on opening a restaurant. Are you aiming for a family-style steakhouse, upscale French cuisine or a quick-service traditional restaurant? Having a food concept will give your potential customers some idea of what they can expect from your restaurant. Determining a food concept from the get-go will also help you to structure and organize other aspects of your business. Some potential food concepts include: seafood, steakhouse, casual-dining, ethnic restaurant, pizzeria, sandwich shop, coffeehouse, etc. Once you have decided on a food concept, you can begin crafting your menu. Don't worry about pricing or exact recipes to begin with, just try to get a logic of how your menu can best reflect your chosen food concept. Some things to consider when planning a menu include: what potential competitors are offering, where you will source the required ingredients, special equipment or layout requirements for the preparation of menu items and whether any special personnel skills will be required.

Consider the atmosphere. The atmosphere or ambiance of the restaurant is another important factor, relating to the food concept. Many varied factors contribute to the ambiance of a restaurant, such as furniture, lighting, dish and glassware, servers' uniforms, music, serving style and clientele. Having an idea of the ambiance you wish to create is important as it will help to guide you during the decision-making process. Always keep an image of what you aim to achieve in mind.

Plan on a serving style. Your food concept, target customers and location will all play a role in deciding on a service style. There are three main service styles: quick-service, mid-scale and upscale. It is important to decide which category your restaurant falls in to, as this distinction will help shape future decisions, such as staffing requirements and pricing. Quick-service restaurants, or fast-food restaurants, are known for their low-cost menus and quick preparation. Examples include burger joints, pizza restaurants and ethnic foods.

30

Mid-scale restaurants fall halfway between fast-food and upscale restaurants. They offer full service and good value menus. Some mid-scale restaurants include buffets and salad bars. Upscale restaurants pride themselves on providing excellent food and high quality service. Fine-dining establishments are the fanciest type of restaurant available - they offer the best quality food at the highest prices. 

Research the cost. It is imperative that you are fully aware of how much your new business venture is going to cost. Do your homework. Talk to other restaurant and local business owners. Find out about rent, insurance and permit costs. The more information you have, the more financially prepared you can be. Craft a business plan. A comprehensive, accurate business plan is the most critical component of opening a new restaurant.

  

 

In fact, the success or failure of your restaurant can hinge on the strength of your business plan, so make sure to do it right. When you're writing a business plan you should include: A comprehensive description of your concept. A description of your target customers. An outline of your menu and potential pricing. As much financial information as possible. Include details on your start-up capital (how much money you have and where it’s coming from), as well an estimate of your long-term income and expenditure. Information on how you plan to market your restaurant. Details of your plan to hire and train employees, as well as an outline of any employee retention

Black twitter If you didn’t know, now you know what black twitter is. Black Twitter is a cultural identity on the Twitter social network focused on issues of interest to the black community, particularly in the United States. Some describes it as a collective of active, primarily African Twitter users who have created a virtual community and are proving clever at bringing about a wide range of socio-political changes. Similar Black Twitter communities are growing in South Africa and Great Britain. Although Black Twitter has a strong black American user base, other people and groups are able to be a part of this social media circle through commonalities in shared experiences and reactions to such online.

o Elihu son of Barakel the Buzite said: I am young in years, and you are old; that is why I was fearful, not daring to tell you what I know. I thought Age should speak; advanced years should teach wisdom. But it is the spirit in a man, the breath of the Almighty, that gives him understanding. It is not only the old who are wise, not only the aged who understand what is right " JOB 32:6-9. At the close of this youth month having attended numerous youth conferences and heard young people minister the word of God, I can testify to this word. It is not age that speaks but the spirit in a man, the breath of God that gives him understanding. I have been amazed at the wisdom and revelation that God has placed upon the youth of today. The book of JOEL 2:28 "And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions." God promised us in this word that His Spirit in is poured upon both young and old, I guess in the same measure as well. I don't believe the spirit of God has an age, I believe that is ageless as much as it is limitless, only our minds can limit what the Lord can do. Scripture proves to us many times that God has used youth to do great things that have changed the course of history. "But Samuel was ministering before the Lord--a boy wearing a linen ephod." 1 SAMUEL 2:18. "Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem thirty one years....." 2 KINGS 22:1. "Saul was thirty years old when he became king and he reigned over Israel forty two years." 1 SAMUEL 13:1.

Written By: Prophet Khonziwe Tukwayo I can go on and on, the list is endless, but all is to prove that God has always trusted youth with not only gifts, but with the leadership and directing the nation. The youth of South Africa is now at a crucial point in our nation, when the previous generation had taken us out of oppression into democracy, but today's generation have to take us of oppression of the mind, economic oppression, spiritual oppression into freedom in Christ. The scripture in the book of Job says it is the breath of God that gives understanding, therefore my prayer at the end of this youth month would be, Lord God Almighty breath on our youth again that they may gain , wisdom, knowledge and understanding to lead their lives and the nation to greater heights. God bless you.
