Aqua

What an exciting month coming up for us! With RTC and FRN both in October, this is gonna be a month to remember! I hope to see all of you at our remaining FRN preps and I loved seeing your big spirit at FRN prep 1! Let's keep that energy up and maybe we will even win the spirit battle at FRN.

RTC is in a week guys! Are you all excited? I know I am, the LTGs of Region 9 and 17 have been working very hard in order to provide the best experience for you all and hopefully you will learn lots and make irreplaceable memories. I can't wait for you all to bring that Aqua Ape spirit and show it off to the regions. I also can't wait to see all of you in our new division spirit pack, with our super cute sleeping ape t-shirt.

At the Dares DCM, I loved watching you guys do all of the dares we offered and hopefully you all had lots of fun at our September Dares DCM. I know it can get really busy during this time of the year, especially for seniors with college apps, so its really important to have a balance in your life and maybe all of our Key Club events can act as a break from all of your stress. Let's show everyone our Banana Power this

El Camino had the opportunity to work with our Kiwanis Club of SSF for a garage sale! During this, we were able to sell belongings we did not need anymore which all went towards our club funds. On top of that, we assisted our Kiwanis club members in setting up their shops and cleaning everything afterwards. Overall, it was nice to bond with our Kiwanians again!

The beach clean-up made me feel very good about myself. The loving club communities made for a great and entertaining experience! Additionally, as someone who has minor back problems the trash grabbers were a luxury. I not only gained the satisfaction of cleaning, but I also got the satisfaction of getting my daily steps in. This was my first time at an Aragon Key Club clean-up and I would like to go again to different locations, with more variety of trash.

The Sunday Streets Event was a fun learning experience. We did the event with Jefferson and Galileo, and we were grouped with their attendees so it was fun gettingtoknowthem!

We helped set up canopies, chairs, inventory, and we did whatever else we could to help out— like helping out the organizations and charities that wereapartofthefestival.Itwas a sunny day so we were all sweating, butitwasstillsofun!

During this Sunday Streets, we were split into different groups to complete different tasks. We mainly helped with setting up as we volunteered during the morning shift. The group I was assigned to was responsible for marking the street with chalk to indicate where tents/booths would be located. We also wrote down how many tables & chairs each booth needed, then brought the necessary amount to each tent & set them up. We assisted any vendors with questions & directed them to their designated location. All volunteers received a prize at the end byspinningawheel, aswellaslunch!

The interclub event we had with Sequoia was our first event we’ve had with another school this term. We made DIY bear cards and did dares and water balloon tosses to raise money for PTP. We ended up making $100 and donating it and the bears to PTP. It was a great experience collabing with Key Clubbers and we hope todomorecollabswithother schoolsinthedivision.

On August 20, Sequoia partnered with Mills' Key Club to host a Field Day fundraiser to raise money for PTP. During the event, we had snacks like donuts and we did a number of activities. The first activity we did was making DIY Bears and writing kind notes to give to the Children's Rescue Foundation. Additionally, we made donations for dares where anyone who donates canmakeoneoftheboardmembersdoadare such as taking a spoonful of mayonnaise. Last, we did donations to throw water balloons at the boardmembers.

We were able to set up some of the event, assist at the check-in room, sell raffletickets, helpwiththeauction winners, and clean up. It was a really great experience meeting everyone, watching the entertainment, and also for club bonding. We also got free dinner and were able to bring home some leftovers! ARAGON

For the month of August, Aragon focused on attending events and club rush. Our club fair was really successful as we had many new students attend our first and second general meetings of the school year! We also got a majority of them to join our club Remind during the club fair. Aragon also hosted a cleanup along with Hillsdale and San Mateo in Foster City. For September, we are preparing members for RTC and encouraging spirit gear orders. We’re also planning on participating in the annual Bayfront Cleanup as well as attending any upcoming FRN Preps.

CARLMONT

Throughout the month of August, Carlmont Key Club worked hard to recruit new members through freshman orientation and informational club meetings. We also hosted the August DCM where we made notes to middle schoolers and origami bookmarks, hosted a book drive, and played games. Additionally, we had a successful boba fundraiser for PTP at our first home football game where we made $407! We are continuing to host our weekly meetings and preparing for FRN and RTC. We have also started presentations to freshman history classes to recruit more members. Some of our event highlights from August include the San Carlos Family Campout, where members helped serve breakfast and led arts and crafts, the Redwood Shores Annual Levee Cleanup, and the San Carlos Kiwanis' Luau Fundraiser. We have many exciting events planned for September and are excited for the rest of the school year!

EL CAMINO

In the past month, Elco was busy with preparing for club rush. At the same time, officers and some members attended their Kiwanis Garage sale and the August DCM. Right now, they are planning many service events for their new members and even the Dares DCM which is coming up soon. Meetings will not kick off until September, so in the meantime they will be focusing on promotions in order to hype up the club.

27

HILLSDALE

In the month of August officers attended the August DCM and many events. This month we hosted many inter clubs such as the Foster City Cleanup and Field Day. On top of that we had our club fair day where we were able to gain many new members. We had a great turnout at our first meeting and are excited to host many more meetings. We are planning more inter clubs for September as well as going to events such as Coastal Cleanup day.

LOWELL

In the month of August, Lowell Key Club started prepping for the new school year. During the first week of the month, our board met up to plan an outline of what this next school year would be like. Things like club goals, when to have our general/board meetings, and important events that we would have to prepare for, like FRN, RTC, and DCON. At our freshman orientation, we ran a booth at the club fair, getting over 50+ signups. Our board worked on filling out club registration forms, working with our student body council to maintain our club status for the upcoming school year. For this next month, we have a lot of interclubs lined up, and we’re excited to have members attend FRN preps and show our spirit.

MILLS

This month was our most action packed month by far. We had multiple events including an interclub service/fundraiser with Sequoia, fundraiser at the Millbrae Art and Wine festival, Club Fair, and our first board meeting alongside the Panda Express fundraiser. With Sequoia, we raised $100 through dares and donated it to PTP along with cards we made. For the Mills Club Fair, we successfully gained the attention of many freshmen, sophomores, and juniors and had many sign-ups for this term. As for the Art and Wine Festival, this was the first event after the Club Fair, so we had a significant amount of volunteers joining us. We worked multiple shifts for 2 days and fundraised a lot while using the opportunity to get to know one another. It was a huge milestone and an amazing beginning for Mills Key Club. As for meetings, we had our first board meeting since school started to discuss upcoming events and ways to maintain members and keep them engaged. During this meeting, we participated in the Panda Express Fundraiser as also a board bonding experience. For the future, we’re having our first member meeting soon and we hope to incentivize them to pay dues to become official members. We’re also working on collab events with an organization at UC Santa Barbara and are very excited to see where this goes!

28

NOTRE DAME

Along with the start of school, we had more frequent board meetings to prepare for the year. We are preparing for our club fair as well as planning events and meetings for once we get new members. This past month we had members attend the DCM at Laurelwood Park and participate in the service portion. Currently we are also encouraging members and officers to buy spirit gear and sign up for RTC.

WESTMOOR

For the past month, we ran our club fair and got over 70+ members. We also collaborated with Jefferson High School Key Club in an event in SF called "Sunday Streets."
