A Message From Your
What’s Up, Aqua Apes! I can't believe it's one of my last LTG messages already. Our division has been able to do so much this term and I couldn't be prouder. You've all worked hard as officers and members and I can't wait to see you all recognized at DCON! It'll be a very exciting event and I hope everyone who goes makes unforgettable memories :)) As it's club election season too, don't forget to pay your dues to vote or run for a position (it's never too late to pay!) Congratulations to anyone who has been elected, and good luck to those who still have elections coming up. Even with the term coming to a close, we still have many fun events to look forward to - including a member favorite Mr. Key Club! Don't be afraid to continue breaking out of your shell and attending these events: try to make new friends! We also have our end-of-the-year banquet coming up, a great time to reflect on the great term and recognize everyone's hard work with awards and food. I hope to see you all at these events and more as the term comes to a close.
Thanks,
Courtney Tai

5. Hey, Aqua Apes! I can't believe the first two months of 2022 are already over! This past month, there were many events going on like the service weekend and DCM, so thank you guys for coming. There will be more opportunities coming up, so stay on the lookout for that. Also at this point, many clubs have already finished their elections, so congratulation to all the officer elects and I am sure that they will carry on an amazing legacy for the upcoming term. DCON is around the corner, meaning the term is coming to a close, so let's make sure we do our best to end strong. There is always time to plan new things for your clubs until the term ends, so if you need help with something feel free to ask me or anyone from the DLT and we can help everyone reach their goals. As always, feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or just want to talk!
Thanks! Sean Sygaco Executive Assistant 122017ss@gmail.com
What’s Up Everyone! If your school had a mid-winter break, I hope you all were able to enjoy it! The weather is getting warm quickly and I'm so excited for summer, going to the beach, and having tons of Key Club events ;) I know that burnout can be a common feeling that's arising (trust me, I am 1000% feeling it) so it is important for us to find a good balance between school and personal time. Take some time for yourself and go try that new brunch place with your friend instead of cramming for that math test! Also, let's talk about our new LTG— I am so excited to see my fellow EA, John, as our LTG next year and I have full confidence that he will do great things for our division. I hope you all show him tons of support and are excited as I am for him!
Thanks! Kristi Xia Executive Assistant kxia23@ndhsb.org
6. Hey, Aqua Apes! Happy March! I hope you're all doing well and have been enjoying the service events from the past month. I can't believe my final newsletter message is approaching... But that also means that elections are coming up! If you're hesitating on running, all I can say is that you should take the chance and go for it before regretting anything. If you ever need any help, or want any advice on different roles in the club (or even early planning for when DLT applications are released) feel free to contact me! Along with other service projects planned for the next while, Banquet and DCON are coming up so I hope you're all super hyped for these incredible events as well :)
Thank You! Jasmine Bao Division Secretary jasbao777@gmail.com
Hey, Aqua Apes! OMG GUYS I’m your 2021-2022 LTG elect, but for the rest of the term I am still one of your EAs! I saw all of you guys at the weekend of service and I'm glad we all really wanted all of those valuable service hours in order to reach our next goals in membership. The February dcm was so fun and I hope all of you guys sent me goodie bags with valentine's day candies. Are you guys excited for DCON??? I am so excited to see all of you guys in Reno too, but before we get too excited we need to get excited about what we have left in the term. Mr. Key Club is coming around the corner and I know just a few people that I know can win it all with their amazing talents, looks, and personality. But don't lose hope girls, even though you guys unfortunately cannot become Mr. Key Club, you can steal our hearts with your amazing talents in the talent show! I'm so excited so see all the amazing energy you guys will bring in the last few months of the term.
Bye Guys! <3 John Hillyard Executive Assistant jshihillyard@gmail.com

clean - up The South San Francisco Softball field was recently built just last year and is the pride and joy of the softball program. However, a lack of maintenance over the summer months left the field riddled with weeds and other plants growing on the dirt of the field. SSFHS Key club teamed up with the SSFHS Earth Club and the SSFHS Softball team to clear the field of weeds and trash so that it can be played on soon.

ltg elect : john hillyard !
Conclave 2022 was a huge success, and it was great to see so many people interested in meeting the candidates. Since the event was with D34N and D34S, there were many familiar faces and new faces. I enjoyed hearing our candidates’ speeches and seeing how passionate they were for Key Club and their hard work to pay off. Everyone came prepared to answer questions, and it was not easy to vote for only one person. Congratulations to our newly elected LTG!
9. Conclave was an exciting event where all of the clubs in Region 17 got the chance to meet each other, and our division, D34N, elected the Lieutenant Governor for next year. As a club member, I got to listen to each of the candidates' speeches and plans for next year and share my opinion with our two delegates. The final two LTG elects, John Hillyard and Sean Sygaco, were both very passionate and well-qualified candidates. After two rounds of speeches in which they described their goals for next year if they were to become LTG, the division's club delegates elected John Hillyard as our next LTG. Conclave was a very valuable experience for me, as I got to learn more about Key Club's organizational structure, gain a big-picture view of Key Club, and meet fellow passionate Key Clubbers.
GEORGIE RAULS CARLMONT Conclave 2022 was hosted online this year due to COVID safety. Conclave is hosted to elect our divisions next LTG for the upcoming term. At this year's Conclave we had three really strong candidates going up against each other. There needed to be two delegates from each home club to cast votes. As votes were getting counted we had presentations on what DCON is going to look like this year, and we also had our monthly DCM but this time for the month of January. I really liked this event because I got to learn more about Key Club as a whole.
NASH PARI-CANDIA LOWELL
This month, the January DCM was combined with D34 Conclave, an annual event where Key Clubbers from D34S and D34N have the opportunity to elect their next LTG. I served as one of Carlmont Key Club's delegates, which means that I compiled all of the votes that our club members submitted and made my final decision based on the majority. I had a great time hearing the three candidates give their speeches and explain their goals for the new term. In addition to this, we also help our normal January DCM with division updates and upcoming service events. After a short DCON presentation, the winners for both divisions were announced!
KATARINA POVINEC CARLMONT
Conclave was an exciting event to be at. There were 3 candidates running for the position of LTG. It was interesting to hear their aspirations and goals for the future of Key Club. It was tough to figure out who to vote for, as all three candidates presented very creative topics. Afterwards, we went into the DCM portion of the event to go over club and division updates. Finally, the LTG for the next term was announced, which was very exciting to hear. Overall, Conclave was an event that I enjoyed a lot.
DARREN CHEN WESTMOOR
I went into this event kind of nervous, because I was going to take a big part in choosing our new LTG for the whole of the D34N division. This seemed like a lot of pressure at first, but the discussion with the other delegates and just being able to listen to the candidates was very fun. Everyone did such amazing jobs on their speeches that it was hard to choose. However, after the results were announced, my only thoughts were "Congratulations!" and how I had this great honor of being a part of it.

CARLMONT
At the Arts for Little Hearts event, we made heart and flower crafts for hospitalized children. There were a lot of options on what heart and flower crafts to make, so we had the freedom to be creative. People made origami flowers, hearts, cards, and poems. I made some origami tulips that were really easy and fun to put together. Overall, I really enjoyed the event and I hope the crafts will make someone’s day!
JOCELYN OWEN Arts for Little Hearts was a Valentine's Day themed origami Zoom service event organized by Alice Finkelstein. First, we talked about our favorite holiday (most of us like Christmas). Then, we began making Origami hearts and flowers while listening to the division safe - key playlist. The best part of the event was when I was following a heart box tutorial and I turned it over to find that there was an origami heart on the back of the box! I thought I had to separately glue on mini hearts, but it was actually the same paper that makes the little heart and the box. I hope our arts and crafts cheer up the hospitalized children they will be sent to!

weekend of …
D34N Weekend of Service was a weekend that had 5 service events on Zoom that could get you up to 10 service hours in total. I went to the Crafts for Hospitalized Children/Send a Smile and the Origami Bookmark event. During Crafts for Hospitalized Children/Send a Smile, I was able to make many crafts and while it was difficult at times, it was something new for me and it was a lot of fun. During the origami bookmarks, I made a bunch of cute bookmarks and I was able to do it with my sister. I loved being able to make simple bookmarks into hearts, flowers, or even cute animals. Both of these events made me feel like I could be able to make a kid happy and hopefully make their day better.
SARA WILKINSON CARLMONT
The D34N Weekend of Service was a fantastic experience. Volunteers were given a selection of crafts to do, from coloring to making origami bookmarks. These crafts were then mailed to military personnel and hospital patients. It was really nice having the opportunity to provide happiness to those in need of support. Seeing all the unique and colorful designs everyone made for their crafts was a delight!

Making Cards and Bracelets for Children's Miracle Network was a fun and relaxing service event over Zoom! We started with a fun ice breaker and then got our materials. We were given a lot of freedom for what we could make which inspired everyone to get creative. I tried making different-sized cards and decorating them in different ways with washi tape, markers, and brush pens. My favorite part of the event was when I got to see everyone hold up the cards they made for the group photo!
MANYA KUMAR
The Cards and Bracelets for Children's Miracle Network was an online event where participants made bracelets and cards. I enjoyed creating colorful cards with positive messages for hospitalized children. It was also nice to take a break from schoolwork and make cards at the event. I'm glad that we could make cards and bracelets to bring some joy to children in the Children's Miracle Network! I would definitely attend this event again.

This officer has gone above and beyond in their position. Despite this past month being very busy, they were always willing to take on new tasks delegated to them with no problem. Whenever another officer needed help, this person was always there to step in and take care of the issue. Additionally, they were always checking in with their club committee and continued to find new plan for their club when possible like their successful food drive. This person has done a lot for their club and it is certain that they will continue to do amazing things in the future. We would not know where we would be if it wasn't for their commitment.

This advisor has done so much to help their club and our division. They've attended all our division events and are volunteering as a chaperone for DCON. They've also generously offered to chaperone more Key Clubbers outside of their club, something they don't have to do as an advisor. Overall, this advisor has been very active and kind and deserves to be recognized for it.

CARLMONT Over the past month of January, Carlmont held 6 different service events virtually, which included Bookmarks for Liberation Library, our monthly school clean-up, and more. Given the surge in COVID cases, we decided to move all service events online unless it was outside. The board did an amazing job with this transition and hosted our weekly club meetings both online and in-person. We participated in the Weekend of Service as our members did the last stretch to complete their hours for the MRP. In February, we plan to continue with our hybrid events and even have some Valentine's Day-themed events. Additionally, Carlmont also hosted their officer elections and has elected their board for the 2022-2023 term! For the remainder of February, we are focusing on training our new officers and the application process to fill our committees and their members. We are super excited to finish this term off strong!
HILLSDALE In the month of January, we held an interclub with Aragon where we made origami hearts over zoom. We also attended Conclave where we got to elect our LTG for the next term. During the January DCM, we were very happy to see one of our co-presidents Camryn Low get officer of the month which was very well deserved. We have been preparing for DCON, club elections, as well as our spring club fair where we hope to recruit more members.
MILLS This month has been quite still. After winter break, many members have fallen out of participation, so we are trying to fix member retention techniques at the moment. Many officers have also been busy with senior activities and responsibilities, as most are high school seniors. Members have been notified about elections constantly throughout the month, so we believe we will be prepared to elect the next Mills Key Club board some time during March. Unfortunately, no one from our club will be attending DCON, but we continue to have weekly meetings at school.
21 . DNE CHALLENGE: What are you looking forward to in March? College decisions? Spring? You can be excited for more than one thing!
NOTRE DAME This month has been pretty uneventful for Notre Dame! We have been attending division-level events like conclave and had lots of fun seeing who our new LTG would be. We also had many members attend weekend service, and all of them really enjoyed the convenience of doing service events from home. We have been working towards elections for the new term and recognition for graduates/outstanding members. We hope that the term will end on a high note and that we will find excellent successors for the next term! On a club level, we continue to have our bi-weekly meetings with service opportunities.
WESTMOOR For the past month, we have started back up our weekly general meetings. We have also completed our internship program. Currently, we have a school clean-up planned this month with two other clubs in our school. We are also focusing on club elections, where applications and interviews will take place this month.
