Divisional Election Conference (DEC) Recap! When: January 12, 2013 Where: Harlingen Public Library

Overview: As a Lieutenant Governor, you hold a DEC in order to have someone to fulfill your duties for the upcoming Key Club year. A candidate from IDEA in San Benito had the most ballots, and she will have the responsibilities and rewards that come with the LTG position! ď Š

Congratulations to Paloma Ramirez, the 2013-2014 Key Club International Lieutenant Governor of Division 11!

First, I would like to thank everyone who came to the DEC. Although it was a fast and easy process, your attendance made a huge difference. IDEA in San Benito and Harlingen High School both had attendees which was great!

Presidential Council Meeting PCM PCM Recap! PCM PCM P-P-P-Party at the Presidential Council Meeting!!! On December 15, 2012, Key Clubbers gathered at McKelvey Park for a Presidential Council Meeting held by yours truly! Students from Harlingen High School enjoyed free beverages, sandwiches, and plenty of worthwhile Key Club knowledge! 

A huge thank you to Richard Brotzman. He has been in the organization longer than I’ve been alive, and he is a great mentor, supervisor, and Kiwanian. You’re the best Regional Advisor!

Spotlight on Service: San Benito High School The Key Club of San Benito High School held a service project called Share-A-Bear in which they collected teddy bears for children who were treated to emergency care inside ambulances. They would have donated these bears to various EMS locations. After news reached them about the Newton, Connecticut incident, they changed their plans. The Key Clubbers and their Advisor, Mr. Rudy Diaz, decided to send the bears to that elementary school. The Key Clubbers passion for others, and the time they spent have surely brightened the lives of the children!

Thank you! The Club Advisor and members of the Key Club of San Benito High School

San Benito’s Share-A-Bear

Share-A-Bear Great job San Benito High School!

District Convention 2013 What is District Convention? District Convention is held annually in Dallas, Texas. Key Clubbers from all over the Texas-Oklahoma District convene at the second nicest hotel in the city, The Sheraton. While you are there, you get to experience the Welcoming Activity which I heard could possibly be a mini-maze or a friendly ghost-greeter. You also get to dance in the Governor’s Ball. There will be contests and awards that your club can enter into like the T-Shirt contest, the Scrapbook contest, and the T-O Quiz Bowl. Also, you will be there for 3 days! It will be from April 4-7, 2013.

Light the way to a year of fearless Service and attend DCON 2013! Make sure to be checking the Texas-Oklahoma District Website periodically for updates on registration and other important dates! www.tokeyclub.com
