Texas-Oklahoma District Governor’s Project:

The B.R.O. Project Every year, the District Governor chooses a project for the Texas-Oklahoma District to participate in. Governor Brian has chosen The B.R.O. (Brother’s Reaching Out) Project as his Governor’s Project, which benefits the Children’s Miracle Network. Children’s Miracle Network, a network of hospitals across the nation, provides this care to all of their patients. This miraculous care is what has saved the lives of children from Maine to California and even here within our two states. Children’s Miracle Network hospitals total over 170 across the United States, and over 20 of them can be found here within our District. These hospitals change our communities and as Key Clubbers, we can help them. The B.R.O. Project is an effort for the clubs of Texas-Oklahoma to get behind and support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals across our District. We are brothers and sisters in service, where we do our best to serve our homes, schools and communities. This project is something that allows us to serve all three areas at once. Through fundraising and direct service, we can reach out to these children who mean so much to us and mean so much to the world.

Fall Training Conference Recap

Guest of Honor: At the Fall Training Conference, our very own TO CKI District Governor Sanjuana Karolina Zavala was present. First of all, I want to thank everyone who attended my Fall Training Conference or FTC. I really appreciate everyone taking the time out of their Saturday to learn about Key Club and to help distribute shoes to needy children from the area. After learning about several Key Club topics including its structure, history, monthly reports, and officer positions, we had some great pizza and soda from Pizza Hut. Then we separated and sorted shoes for the children who came in with their parents which was a very humbling experience. The parents’ were grateful for the shoes, and the little kids had the cutest smiles on their faces! It was a very special experience that shows the true values of Key Club and what it stands for. ď Š

Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF What is Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF?

What started out more than 60 years ago to help children abroad during World War II has evolved into a revolution driven by kids. Thanks to us, girls and boys all over the world receive the help they need for happy and healthy lives. Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF gives us the chance to help others. We have raised more than $167 million so far and every donation, big or small, makes a difference. Let’s keep that ball rolling. Be a part of the past, present and future by continuing to participate in Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF! ORDER YOUR BOXES ONLINE BY TYPING IN THIS URL: http://youth.unicefusa.org/trickortreat/ Help improve the lives of children by taking monetary donations around campus, at home, or other locations that are deemed appropriate. The lives of children will be forever changed for the better when you take the small steps of collecting and raising money for this worthwhile cause!

President’s Council Meetings

What is a President’s Council Meeting? This is what the Key Club International website says about PCM’s: “Lieutenant Governors lead three to 10 meetings each year. This is a great time to update, educate and train Key Club officers and advisors, as well as potential club leaders, within the geographic region.” In other words, these meetings are to catch up on what your club is up to, inform you of the different District projects, and anything that will help your club succeed!

I will be making a calendar with all the future/upcoming PCM dates so that your club will be able to attend. These aren’t as formal as FTC’s so I highly encourage you all to attend!
