Fashion would not be fashion without opposing trends. Spring summer 2011 will see a vivid contrast in shapes, colours and fabrics. With the recession over, we openly encounter our freedom with optimism and gather outside, embracing the bright colours that surround us. However we still want to hold onto our treasured possessions. The luxurious pieces that got us through the difficult times, with the new nude colours representing a new start. And the sporting events that are up and coming, we want to embrace it with hope and excitement. Whilst our travels take us to the Amazon and venture into the exotic climate and brave all the colours of the rainforest.

Sheer Opulence The recession is over but we want to hold onto those classics pieces. With the transparent and delicate textures, and skin tone, washed out colourings, they bring a natural and free element. Bringing haute couture alive again we can admire those treasured visions. Structured Sporting With the Olympics and other big sporting events coming to the urban city, mixed with the modern architecture, sportswear gets structured. Dynamic and vibrant colours inspired by the urban surroundings. With the structure of the clothes becoming more fitted influenced by the underwear bra structure, portraying the formation of the new Olympic stadium and other city buildings. Fabrics inspired by the figure hugging lycra and crushed silk, a whole new look is taken on with sportswear. 25

Secret Garden Out of the recession, we embrace the outdoors with confidence. With the feeling of freshness and renewal, like nature budding and blooming, with the cheerfulness from the bright colours of the mountain green and bright flowers, we translate this into design. Rubine pinks and bright greens, with a hint of tulip lilac, natured with an earthy brown to warm up the pastels, the palette is refreshed. With floral prints and gingham, garden parties and picnics will be a summer treat. 37
