The last 20 years in the creative industry gave me the chance to develop f rom a quirky storyboard intern to a somewhat calmer design manager and idea facilitator, who likes to inspire, mentor and still enjoys hands-on design work.

2017-now

Storyboarding taught me to grasp the essence of a narrative and help to shape a team’s idea into executable steps.

Skills and tools

Service Design / Voluntary / Freelance work I started to voluntarily consult. alignment and asking many questions to the core pains to be a guide towards the next solution. • As a service designer I am coaching a team in Zurich, that is working on a new messaging app and was stuck. We had several interviews by phone that lead to a succesful workshop in their office. With the help of a very holistic view on their entire service and product landscape I was able to guide them towards a proof of concept.

Sketch, Zeplin, InVision, Adobe CC (AI, PS, ID, AE) • As a service designer I am coaching a distributed team that is building up an AI-as-a-Service consultancy with their own machine learning based products. By assessing their planned services I create awarenes for each of the product owners and alignment across the team. I also help and advice them how to shape their accademic wording into something that’s potentially understood by a wider audience :-)

In 2019 the DMC team had only two weeks to go live. In this short time f rame I had to develop a style that is flexible enough to allow changes on the go without risking deadlines. e.g. a spontaneus Pre-Party and adaption to the umbralla event. Knoweaux Knoweaux is a strategic consulting agency for long term future relevant strategies. In a one week sprint we redef ined Knoweaux‘ identyty. Deliverables were design-duidelines and a asset library to-go. Kicking of with a strategic workshop that helped Knoweaux to express their need we avoided many rounds of ref inement.

Anonymus Internal service provider

AI-as-a-Service company To align a distributed and new team - some of its team members haven‘t even seen each other before I proposed to map their service landscape - highlevel / end to end. In 1on1 calls I guided each internal service provider to map down their service model and process and get an understanding of each of their BMCs. With this approach we got a better understanding of each others tasks and were able come up with a better roadmap.

Understand each service‘s revenue model for prios and status quo

Compass.co, eTreat We needed a quick and easy way to get new hires together and save money. I suggested to have an online eTreat. Eventually a team of four (including me) shaped the event to make it useful, stratetic and a truly fun experience. We looked into the Compass‘ future, shared private moments, mindbending raffles around personality tests, brainstorming about remote team culture and our to be more happy users. Treatwell In early 2016 all the companies acquired by Wahanda were renamed to Treatwell. With WeAreDesignStudio from London we developed a new brand strategy and design. Since then we refined the design permanently (by adding new photography, expanding the given illustrations, ... ) and produced a huge ammount of corporate and marketing materials for both market sides.

EXPERIENCE BOARD

SET OF ICONIC ILLUSTRATIONS

To visualise our user journey for both market sides. I created an experience board to see which touchpoints come across or where we could fill gaps for new measures.

We needed a style of illustrations/icons, which goes along with treatwell‘s open shapes and wavy lines. It should be easy and quick to add new ones on the go.

Salonmeister Salonmeister was ready to leave everything behind and start (almost) from scratch. The main goal was to look more attractive to B2B customers as a reliable software provider.

STRATEGY A key-part in the Salonmeister redesign was the workshop I set up with the whole company. Thus we got input from all departments, whether it was sales, customer care, management or development.

DaWanda At DaWanda (3.2011-12.2012) I became the head of design of an existing two people team. The goals were to lead the redesign, scale the team to cope with the growing tasks from product and marketing.

DaWanda Redesign The core quests of the DaWanda redesign, was to find a scalable and unique language, that conveys the passion from the DIY world and still can be applied easily in print as well as online and mobile. The hardest nut to crack was the new typeface – Bodoni Egyptian, which eventually gave the company a totally new outlook and the possibility to cast the graphic diversity into one cohesive unique style.

DaWAnda Xmas One of the hardest parts at DaWanda was to think about Christmas – in August. In 2011 we used two existing DaWanda characters and added a whole world around them. The illustrative toolbox that emerged on the go, gave us the possibility to react almost immediately on various spontaneus demands from all sides.

Banners or navigaitnal elements were created in almost no time

Logo construction

Lieferheld Lieferheld was a four months freelance gig from 12.2010 - 03.2011. The main goal at LH was to develop an easy graspable identity that combines the quickness of delivery, the iconic images of comic with a room for humor and still generating trust in the quality of the food and product itself.

Concept Hermes Boot fast, iconic, simple

Lieferheld The Website Clear images and a cozy yet immediate color appearance.

It was part of the brief that all icons and elements had to be special. Almost no standart html-elements were used.

Comic Invasion Berlin The CIB is an independent comic festival in Berlin since 2011. We wanted to have an easy applicable look and a logo that serves the purposes of classic comic, trashy invasion and an urban Berlin. Each year, another illustrator is invited to decorate the communication materials with their key illustration. The festival had about 6000 visitors the last years and is suported by the senate of Berlin and by a European fund.

Storyboarding taught me to grasp the essence of a narrative and help to shape a team’s idea into executable steps. A shift started in Moscow at Rosinter Restaurants where I directed a team of five designers. Our new creative director, who came from Landor, brought in new concepts for workshops, research and creative meetings. These became our new tool to create alignment and be closer to stakeholders.

• As a service designer I am coaching a distributed team that is building up an AI-as-a-Service consultancy with their own machine leanring based products. By assessing their planned services I create awarenes for each of the product owners and alignment across the team. I also help and advice them how to shape their accademic wording into something that’s potentially understood by a wider audience :-)

The idea of “ownership by partizipation” really hit me. Collectively crafted ideas are strong, in quality, alignment and bonding. Skills and tools

• As a service and product designer I am coaching a young food startup that hit a revenue plateau. So far we’re assesing their touchpoints and work on their business model canvas.
