Daniel Bally news editor Twelve earthquakes shook up Irving, Texas Jan. 6 through Jan. 7 for unknown reasons. The earthquakes’ ranking ranged from 1.6M to 3.6M, in which case the M stands for the magnitude of the quakes. These quakes were caused when two of the earth’s tectonic plates scrape against each other. Scientists are unsure what exactly caused the earthquakes in Irving, but they have a few theories. One of the scientists’ theories is that the earthquakes were caused by fracking, which is a method for breaking bedrock in order to obtain resources such as oil. The second theory is that the Texas drought has caused the ground to become unstable, causing space for the tectonic plates to move. There have been no further reports of any earthquakes in Irving since the incidents at the start of the new year.

Showcasing Talent Student preps for annual show Victoria Weaver staff writer A night of singing, dancing and other wacky displays of talent: you can find it all at this year’s Longview High School’s Got Talent. Sponsored by math teacher Heather Cisco, the talent show will be held in the Mickey Melton auditorium on Saturday at 7:00 PM. One of the competitors, sophomore Shaquincy Watts, says she is enthusiastic and anxious for her upcoming performance. “I have to say I’m pretty nervous,” Watts said. “I know a lot of the people who [are performing], and I know that they’re really talented.” Despite her nerves, Watts is very confident in her ability and has a long history of singing to back her up. With such an extensive history, stage fright definitely won’t be an issue for

this songbird. “I’ve been singing since I was three years-old,” Watts said. “I was the smallest one [in the church choir].” However, career-wise, Watts says singing is more of a hobby and credits her father for inspiring her future job choice, an engineer, which also explains her song of choice for the show, “Daddy, Can I Please Come Back Home” by LeToya. “I first heard this song in a movie called Preachers Kid, and it’s about a girl who left home but [wanted to come back],” Watts said. “My father has been a major role model for me, and he inspired me to become an engineer.” With all the talent in this show deciding a winner will definitely prove to be a challenge. Students can catch all the singing and dancing and who knows what else tomorrow night at 7:00. Students can get tickets from Ms. Cisco or from the Blackbox. Don’t miss out on a night of spectacular talent provided by our very own student body.

James Babbitt staff writer The Martin Luther King Jr. Essay and Art Contest is a contest that students enter to win scholarships for college. Students can enter the essay contest or the art contest, or both if wanted, and the students are given a prompt that they have to write or draw a picture about. The winners this year for the essay were senior Hannah Brown as first place, senior Simone Macklin as second place and senior Emily McCarty as third place. The prompt for the essay was “The Dream... Only Love Can”, about how students would fight for equality and to keep Dr. King’s dream alive. Brown

got to read her essay at the Broughton Community Center at the MLK Community Celebration. “My essay was about my friend Farah Al Chammas who moved here from Syria. Because I’m Jewish, I suspected she would have a bias against Jews” Brown said.“I wanted to be friends with her and prove that bias wrong, so we got to know each other. The essay about that was process and how we grew close and overcame barriers.” Macklin also got to read her essay at the Broughton Community Center. “I really took the approach of if you want to change the world you have to look inside yourself first, so I talked about how when

we act out against people its mostly we act out of hate, and its usually because we fear,” Macklin said. “MLK took everything really peacefully, and now you see everything like school shootings, and the war on terror and everything. It just upsets me that that’s how people respond to differences. I really looked at his work and his life and tried to take his approach towards the situation.” The prompt for the art contest was “Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.” McCarty won the contest and her piece is currently displayed at the Gregg County Historical Museum. “Mr. King was a very inspirational

person and I agree with his nonviolent way of life,” McCarty said. The prompt was interesting, it was about darkness and hatred and then love. Church is a place of love and my church has a very pretty window that we all face during service, so I drew that.” Junior Madeline Duvall also got to have her art in the Historical Museum. “I was inspired both by the quote and by Dr. King’s courage to encourage peaceful protest when violence had seemed, to many, the only way combat persecution,” Duvall said. “So I drew an image of Dr. King with his back to darkness, with the quote, ‘Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can.’”

Fun Fill-up Facts -Consumers save $1.4 billion each year for every penny gas prices decrease.

-Every driver in America is predicted to save up to $452 on gas prices in 2015.

Trevor O’Connor // Official Cartoonist

Problems by the Gallon The disadvantages of lowered gas prices STAFF EDITORIAL

Whether you are a driver or not, it’s not hard to see that gas prices have drastically lowered since last year and are still lowering. While lower gas prices may seem like a good thing for our wallets, there are many long lasting negative effects on the environment and community that come with them. Now that gas is more accessible and budget-friendly, people buy bigger, less fuel efficient cars because they don’t have to worry about an unreasonably pricey fill-up receipt standing in their way. As prices continue to drop, people will continue to buy and use up more fuel even though it is not a renewable resource. Some day, these resources will be used up and we will either all have to convert to electric cars or walk everywhere. Considering our generation would rather not show up at all than walk, we should focus on preserving fossil fuels. People protest and argue that we should be “leaving a better world for the next generation”, but when prices go down, many drop their signs and go to the nearest gas station to fill up their cars. Without the drive to save money, some of our morals fly out of the window, and we become more careless with our resources. In addition to using up resources, the environment could potentially be further damaged. Now that gas can be purchased for so cheap,

there are more cars on the roads, polluting the atmosphere with the exhaust release. Living in an environment where you constantly have to breathe in pollution from cars is just exhausting and unhealthy. More vehicles means more traffic as well which is inconvenient for any driver, whether they are in a hurry or not. Lowered gas prices mostly affect the driving tendencies of teenagers who otherwise may not be able to afford to go see their friend at work every day, or make a stop at Starbucks before school. Adults with committed jobs and family would be less likely to alter their driving patterns due to this factor. With more people on the road more often, the risk of crashrelated injuries or deaths goes up. Lowered gas prices also mean less jobs for the people working in the oil industry. With a high supply and average demand, there is no need for workers to constantly be drilling more oil. Lower prices for some of us means more money to spend elsewhere, but for others it could cause their income to come to a screeching halt. Life would be much easier if it came with an emergency brake so that when important things, such as a job, begins to roll away from you, you can save it, but that’s just not the case. We shouldn’t have to put thousands of people out of jobs, just to save money. Although reduced gas prices are overall negative, they are still an acceptable thing. By spending less on gas, there’s more money left over for other needs, such as food and clothes. For teens who already don’t have much money as it is, lower costs are appreciated when available. Who doesn’t want more for less?

An additional estimated 9,000 traffic deaths could occur due to the $2-pergallon decrease in gas prices.

Life would be “much easier if

it came with an emergency brake.

We are already spending enough money on Christmas and birthdays and other non essential things, so why must people feel the need to break their bank account only two months after they broke it the first time? I am a full supporter of the “I Love My Money Club”. Why buy diamonds when I can save dimes? Exactly. All I am trying to say is that we should all spend our money a little more wisely and think about how your oh-sosweet gift will affect the innocent bystanders around you. Stop buying oversized and overpriced gifts for your girlfriend/boyfriend of one month. It’s not worth it, honey.

Three flights and a boat ride later, Suzanne Zeid finally stepping onto the cold Antarctica ground. She sighs, seeing her breath in the chilly air, and smiles. This is what she has been waiting for, and it is perfect. Freshman Suzanne Zeid took a trip to Antarctica over Christmas break with People to People, a student travel organization founded by Dwight E. Eisenhower. This was her fourth trip with the group, having previously traveled to Australia, Europe, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. “It’s indescribable. Words can’t even nearly describe it,” Zeid said. “[The most exciting moment] was the first time stepping onto Antarctic soil. That was like the big moment I felt like I was there. It felt like a dream, and everything became surreal.” The group took boats out, and, with the help of glaciologists and oceanographers, got to experience the scientific side of Antarctica, taking samples of glacier ice caps. Despite the cold, they didn’t have to change their wardrobe too much. “It never got below freezing because it’s summer there,” Zeid said. “So I just had like four or five layers on all the time.” Zeid was gone from Christmas day until Jan. 8. “It’s a really unique place because you have this whole idea of it but it’s really so much different,” Zeid said. “It’s so majestic and beautiful, mountains covered with snow, and everything’s just so perfect.”

Remembering Lacey Smarr LHS loses freshman Estrella Gonzales staff writer Today, a chair is empty and the classroom is silent. For many, today is but a dream that is meeting reality all too soon. Freshman Lacey Smarr lost her life due to health problems on Feb. 2 night. Students and teachers remember Lacey as the warm and spirited girl that she was. “Lacey was very kindhearted, very sweet natured person, and a very good student. She had a heart for other people, and she let other people know that,” geography teacher Brian Bird said. “It’s hard to describe, she’s just one

of those people that you knew she cared about other people. She didn’t shy away from that.” Sophomore Daquavion Collins remembers how Lacey was nice, even to people she didn’t know. Her kindness has left an impact on the people around her. “You don’t really find people like her that have a heart like that, that’ll just talk to you,” Collins said. “I was down at the time and she just helped me, she didn’t know me at all.” Students found out the news during Tuesday morning’s assembly. Many spent time talking and sharing stories about Lacey with one another. “All of us loved her. She was there for us, always. She cared no matter if she was mad at you or not, she would understand,” freshman

Cody Skinner said. “She would try to be there. She loved us back as much as we loved her.” A memorial will be held for Lacey today, Friday 6, after school in the upper library. Students are asked, if able, to bring one rose, two candles (one Skittle scented), and a bag of Skittles, since Skittles were Lacey’s favorite candy. Counseling is also available for any grieving students needing to talk. “You have to just take one day at a time,” Counselor Melanie Hudson said. “You have to try to remember the good memories you have, even while it’s very painful. Lean on your friends and your family, and hopefully counselors or teachers, and talk when you have feelings that [are] bothering you. It’s really important to talk about it.”

Estrella Gonzales staff writer Valentine’s Day is the day when lovers all over the world get to show their affection for one another in the most cheesiest ways possible. Hearts are fluttering and expectations are unreasonably high as people try to please their other half. Some guys are not as romantically inclined during this season and often find it hard to express their love and admiration for their special Valentine, so here’s a little advice. TIP #1: ‘TIL DEATH DO US PART There was a quote post circulating the internet a couple of years ago about a guy who bought his girlfriend eleven roses and a fake one in the middle. He told her that his love would run out when the last flower died. Well, this is real life, and that story is pretty old so stick to the real deal for your special girl or that fake flower will last longer than your relationship. TIP #2: COMBO BABY Many have struggled from the recession that has lasted pretty much our whole lifetime. So Mickey D’s has been our provider in times of need. Even though the prices are pretty to your budget, don’t take your date to McDonald’s this Valentine’s Day and say, “Baby you can have anything on this menu, even a combo meal. Love you.” Now that’s just wrong. You may walk out single with a Big Mac, eating your feelings in the parking lot. TIP #5: FAKE GEMS This is an absolute don’t when it comes to Valentine’s day, or any day. Buying your girlfriend fake jewelry is a bad thing to do. Maybe you can’t afford the pricey earrings that she has been wanting, but it’s better to not buy any at all if it’s not real. Maybe try doing little everyday things that she will love, like foot massages and her favorite Starbucks drink. If you ever feel bad, just remember that Ben Affleck gave J-Lo a diamond encrusted toilet seat and they still broke up.

Making Your Dream Advice on how to make a Reality New Year resolutions last Hannah Brown editor-in-chief

You started out so strong those first few weeks of January. Whether or not you wanted to get ripped, slim down, make straight A’s or spend more time with loved ones, that New Year’s Resolution was yours. However, now it’s February and some of us may have lost sight of our goals. The problem with most New Year’s Resolutions is that they are temporary and drastic. Jumping headfirst into trying to reach the resolution will only serve to discourage you, kill your determination, or create impermanent results. Sure, you may lose those few pounds, but, if you aren’t careful, you will gain them back just as quickly as you lost them. The solution to achieving your New Year’s Resolution is to approach it gradually, making small changes every day or week to adjust. If you go from eating candy bars and fast food everyday to eating only leafy green and smoothies, you will give into temptation and give up. Instead of seeing your resolution as a short-term goal, see it as a lifestyle change. The best way to do this is to plan. Set a small goal for each week and follow through. Set reminders, put up signs on the wall, or even tie a string to your finger so you will remember. Keep track of your progress in

Trevor O’Connor // Official Cartoonist

a journal. It will be both motivating and satisfying to see how far you have come. So, if you have already given up or forgotten your resolution, it’s not too late to try again. Look up inspirational success stories if things get too tough. Reward

yourself for your efforts when you make improvements, but don’t go overboard. Above all, don’t overload yourself: you aren’t a machine - you are a human being. Just remember that good planning and baby steps are your keys to success.

The Women’s World Cup is less than four months away, and you can bet FIFA and Canadian Soccer Association officials have started a countdown. Not the moment the opening game starts. Not the moment they see the roaring stands full of people. The moment when they can throw up their hands and declare that it’s too late to take care of the calls of some of the world’s top players and change the World Cup’s artificial turf to grass. In soccer they call it timewasting: kicking the ball into the stands, dawdling over a free kick, faking an injury. Anything to run out the clock. In this case, FIFA and the C.S.A. just want to avoid addressing the inequality that is, quite literally, right there under their feet. The players banded together in 2013 to protest the plan to use artificial turf at the World Cup, arguing that doing so was dangerous and discriminatory, and noting that major men’s competitions are always played on natural grass. Their campaign gained momentum on social media, with many of the players using their large Twitter followings, including support from celebrities like the Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant and the actor Tom Hanks, to draw attention to the issue. In July of 2014, their lawyers threatened to sue, but again FIFA refused to budge.

27 wins. 1 loss. 4 games left. The girls basketball team has surpassed expectations of the coach and players as they enter the home stretch to the end of their season. “I knew we had a chance, but if you would’ve told us that we’d have one loss by this time in the year I’d be very surprised,” Head Coach Keith Smith said. “It’s a great testament to what they’ve done as a team, and we’re excited.” Senior Kiara Ross credits the team’s success to everyone’s hard work and dedication. “Whenever we step foot on the court, we are committed to doing our very best,” Ross said. “As a team, we have worked very hard

this year to get to where we are.” The team has spent years practicing and training for this chance at winning. “Being coached by Coach Smith for 4 years and playing with these girls for over 5 [years] has given us time to bond and grow,” senior Mikayla Smith said. “We have made a huge jump from our freshman season [to our senior season this year.]” Even with a 27-1 record, the team isn’t finished. “We’ve still got four games to go, so we have not won it at all yet. There are still some things we need to take care of,” Smith said. “I just want them to go out as the best team they can be. I don’t want them to look back and say ‘I wish we would’ve done something different.’”

In September, Tatjana Haenni, the FIFA official in charge of women’s competitions, told reporters during a visit to Canada that they “play on artificial turf, and there’s no Plan B.” With the World Cup approaching quickly, the athletes seemed to have given up the fight. With only four months to go, installing grass on all the venues would be almost impossible considering Canada’s frigid weather. Even though these top athletes deserve to play on a natural grass field, playing on artificial turf is not too bad for them. Turf today is not turf 20 years ago. The improvements are substantial. Injuries have been cut on modern turf, especially injuries such as knee burns. There is no arguing that grass is the best. If nothing else, it smells better. But as far as injury is concerned, most athletes don’t see an issue with it. The college football national championship was played on turf this year. 13 NFL teams play on turf. Every Canadian football team plays on turf, particularly relevant to a World Cup in Canada. Baseball is pretty much all grass, but that is for a unique reason: grass causes balls to take unpredictable bounces, which is historically part of the game. Soccer does not need unpredictable bounces as much as it needs safety. The irregular surface of grass may cause more injuries than marginally harder turf. In the end, when it comes to soccer, I think it’s mostly about the smell of grass. And I don’t mean to belittle the difference at all. There is nothing like playing a sport on nice, natural grass.

Swim Places Second Overall at District Nikolas Olson sports writer The swim team placed second overall at District 15-5A 2015. Men placed third and women placed second in team rankings. “We did well. We missed a couple of opportunities to swim up,” coach Daniel Gonzales said. “We are going to go into regionals and take care of the assignments that we didn’t take care of at district.” Some swimmers zeroed in on their view of the District competition. “We had a large number of freshmen that qualified for the regional swim meet compared to the past several years,” junior Truman Thompson said. “We stand a good chance of doing better than the team has been able to do for awhile.” The district meet was held in Texarkana where the Lobos faced rivals new and old in the 15-5A Division. “District is my favorite meet. Everyone works really hard, but we’re all there to have a good time,” senior Charlotte Williams said. “This year the team did well as a whole in the new district, so it was a bit more fun since we were more competitive.”

Brought to Life Classic fairy tales made into live action films

comingsoon.net

Once upon a time, there were actors who pranced through the woods on a stage. Then, someone came along and decided to take the same concept and put it on a big screen. Into the Woods premiered on Broadway Nov. 5, 1987, and it took 27 years for it to finally be made into a movie. This musical is a combination of many classic fairy tales, including Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel. They all come together as a baker and his wife try to break a spell preventing them from having a child that was cast upon them by a witch. The movie follows Broadway’s production fairly well, minus a few differences. Before Into the Woods was remade, theaters released Maleficent, a film based on the classic fairy tale Sleeping Beauty. In the film, Princess Aurora is visited at birth by an evil woman who curses her so that when she turns sixteen, she will prick her finger on a spindle and die. She had also been visited by fairy godmothers

Abby Jester opinions editor

who changed the spell so that she wouldn’t die, but only go into a deep sleep. The big difference between the 1959 and 2014 movie is that in the 2014 version, Maleficent’s character is evil throughout the entire original film, and she is just the opposite in the latest motion picture. Just when you think there could be no more fairy tale movies, you see Cinderella. This fairy tale is set to premiere March 13. Based on commercials, the on screen story looks much more suspenseful than the 1950 animated classic, but doesn’t seem as though it will stray from the original plot. We’ve walked with a whole new Maleficent, we were taken into the woods and out of the woods, and we put on some new shoes along the way. I am sure there are many more altered fairy tales that probably exist in the world and it’s difficult to know what’s in store for the years to come, but for now, we can just live happily ever after.

Marvel spin-off, Peggy Carter, proves to be worth it

Hannah Kempkes web editor ABC’s new TV show Agent Carter, a spinoff of Marvel’s Captain America and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., is perfect for anyone who wants to watch a strong female character absolutely rule in a man’s world. The show takes place after World War II at a secret government agency called the SSR in New York City. It’s similar to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in that it’s a series set in a superhero world, but focuses on those with non-super powers. In this television show, Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) shows that she’s as good as any agent, while being constantly reminded that the only reason she’s really at the agency is because she

dated Captain America before he died in World War II. Feeling disillusioned, when Peggy was contacted by an old war friend Howard Stark with the proposition of helping him clear his name, she didn’t refuse, wanting to feel helpful. So far, we have followed Peggy and Stark’s butler Jarvis, as they go deeper and deeper down into a conspiracy dealing with Howard Stark, his inventions, and a foreign power at play. The secondary characters that have been introduced, like Jarvis, Stark, and Agent Sousa are welldeveloped and likable, with the exception of the rest of the agents

in the SSR. The characters really enhance the story, and what we see of Peggy through all her missions and challenges. All in all, the show is actionpacked, with great acting from Atwell and the supporting characters. Each episode leaves me wanting more, waiting for the next episode as more and more of a mysterious plot is revealed.

Mega Music Tuesday fashionnstyle.com

Logan Test guest writer I would literally cry if I was Meghan Trainor’s producer. Every single song sounds exactly the same, either slowed down or sped up. If you are going to be an artist that wants to sell a lot, you need to have a bigger range in diversity in music style and creativity. Thankfully, the track order is decent, but she still sounds like a whiny, over theatrical teenage girl. While “Close Your Eyes” shined as a favorite as it focuses on accepting yourself on the inside rather than the outside, songs like “Title” and “3am” fell short in true meaning and realism. You would think that an up and coming artist like her would want her debut album to be the best thing she is able to put out, but it seems as though the album lacks in meaning and is materialistic.

Overall, she’s obviously doing something right by selling thousands of copies of her debut album. I believe that she has good intentions, but I think she needs to expand her horizons to reach the top, and she needs to find a better vocal teacher. As for Mr. Manson over here, he sounds like a try hard hipster Lucifer. Before I listened to his album, I thought I would hate it. Little did I know, that I would come to hate it even more than I thought. On the contrary, there were two songs that I was able to enjoy, surprisingly. “Day 3” and “Fall of the House of Death” actually made me do a double take on his music. I thought he was all about the Devil and satanic rituals, but it turns out, he has a wider variety in music style and meanings. Honestly, I hated the fact that for the majority of the album, you couldn’t understand what he was saying due to him straining his voice to get his emotion

Going for the Gold The Oscars

I am not sure how it is for you, but the Oscars are one of my favorite award shows. It is one of the biggest awards in the entire world, and I am obsessed with celebrities. This year, in my opinion, the Golden Globe winners will also be taking home the gold at the Oscars. For Best Actor in a Leading Role, Eddie Redmayne is my number one choice for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in Theory of Everything. With his recent Golden Globes Best Actor and his SAG Best Actor awards under his belt, this Oscar nomination is sure to be

a win. As for Best Actress in a Leading Role, just like the Golden Globes, Julianne Moore has it in the bag for her performance in Still Alice. This would be her first Oscar win, and she truly deserves it. I can’t get enough Julianne Moore in my life. Now for the biggest award: Best Picture. If Boyhood does not win, I will be thoroughly disappointed. They spent twelve years making this movie! You literally see a boy grow up! That alone deserves to win Best Picture. pixgood.com

Contrasting artists release new albums on the same day across. If he really wants to get his emotions across, he should do an acoustic album showcasing his writing abilities and his musical understanding. Surprisingly, I enjoyed Marilyn’s album more than teeny bopper pop star Meghan Trainor. Even though they share similarities in releasing albums that have songs which sound similar to each other, Manson surpassed my expectations in lyrical meaning.

Last year was a great year for music, so let’s just jump right in and see who I think will win big this year. For Album of the Year, Beyonce, Ed Sheeran, Beck, Sam Smith, and Pharrell Williams are nominated. Personally, I see Sam Smith winning for his album In the Lonely Hour. His raspy soul voice touched us all this past year. As for Best New Artist, I have to give it to Sam Smith again. He took m 2014 by storm and frenchculture.co

Andrew Rivera entertainment editor I don’t see him slowing down anytime soon. Song of the Year is always a hard decision. This year, I believe Hozier’s gospel anthem “Take Me to Church” will win this honor. Song of the Year focuses on songwriting, and Hozier definitely has songwriting chops that should be accoladed. Finally, the big award: Record of the Year. I have no idea who will win. It could be Meghan Trainor, or Iggy Azalea, or Sia, or Sam Smith, or Taylor Swift. They all had huge songs this year, and I am left dumbfounded as to who will win.

Behind the Curtain Staff member pays tribute to the underdogs of the entertainment industry Andrew Rivera entertainment editor I know this may sound insane, but there are actual people who voice your favorite cartoons. Even celebrities jump in on the fun. Stars like Ellen Degeneres, Tom Hanks, and Kristen Bell have voiced characters that may be your favorite or your absolute worst. Either way, they work extremely hard to master the perfect pitch and fluctuation for their characters. Voice actors actually repeat the same line several times in several different ways in order to give the editors many options to find the perfect one. Throughout the many years of voice acting, several actors have made a name for themselves in the industry. Walt Disney, Mark Hamill, Tara Strong, Seth Macfarlane, and Mel Blanc have really impacted the voice acting industry.

We all know Walt Disney, and, if you don’t, then shame on you. He is what I like to call the Founding Father of Voice Acting. Disney gave life to the iconic Mickey Mouse we all love and adore, even if he never wears a shirt. Anyways, Walt Disney first voiced Steamboat Mickey in 1928 and whistled his little heart out. You may know him as Luke Skywalker, but you may know him as Skips from Regular Show. After his time with the Star Wars trilogy, Mark Hamill dedicated his time into voice acting rather than live action acting. He has over a hundred credits for voice acting, which is insanely impressive. Currently, he has taken a break from his life behind the mic and filmed the seventh Star Wars film. Timmy Turner, Mary Jane Watson,

“herI give all of

and Bubbles are just a few of the characters that Tara Strong has voiced. She is one of my personal favorites as she tackles characters that are young boys all the way to adult women. Her range of personalities and character differentiation is astounding and I give her all of my snaps. Seth MacFarlane is probably one of the most famous voice actors at the moment. He has voiced over 40 characters on Family Guy alone. While his humor is dirty and raunchy, you have to admit he is wildly talented when it comes to creating new and original characters. Last, but most certainly not least, we have the legen...wait for it...DARY Mel Blanc. He is the man responsible for Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Daffy Duck, Sylvester Cat, Tweety Bird, Pepé le Pew, Speedy Gonzales, r Tom and Jerry, Wile E. ve o Coyote, and pretty e much any other oic v character who’s a

last name is the name of an animal. Mel Blanc is a total icon for aspiring voice actors. I don’t even want to have a career in that field, but I still look up to him and hope to one day be a fraction as successful as he has been. The purpose of this article was to highlight the hard working actors who don’t really get the recognition that live action actors get. While a lot of voice actors go into that industry so that they can be successful actors without having to deal with the consequences of fame, I still believe we should acknowledge their accomplishments to show respect and give confirmation that they are doing a splendid job.
