BACK TO SCHOOL SOCIAL

Since we’re going back to school soon, OAKC had a Back to School Social with Whitney and Savanna. It was a really great opportunity to bond with other Key Clubbers that I have never really talked to before. :) The social was held on Zoom, and there were around 60 participants which was a great turnout! Before being put in breakout rooms, the Lovebox messages were read out loud, and I was super surprised that someone actually wrote me one. :)) It was really sweet and totally unexpected!

After we were put in small breakout rooms of around 9 people, we played the UNICEF Math Games for Good Challenge, where we answered math questions to raise money to help children go to school. While answering the math questions, we also talked a bit about some random stuff. It was actually one of the only times I’ve had both my camera and mic on during the recent online events, so I was able to break out of my comfort zone during this social!

After the math challenge, the people in my group decided to play skribbl.io because we couldn’t figure out how to use the Zoom whiteboard feature. We had a fun time, and some of the drawings were pretty funny too! Our breakout room ended before we could finish the entire game, but it’s okay because we continued to play afterwards :) Overall, the social was a really fun experience because I talked to people I’ve never talked to before and the activities were really entertaining too. Hopefully there will be more socials and events where we can play more games together!
