Hands On History History is made fun through the use of hands-on resources, and real life experiences. Tactile experiences inspire children to engage with history in new and exploratory ways. It is this hands-on experience of artefacts that encourages them to gain a deeper understanding of history. Using real artefacts and photographs promotes quality discussion and extends pupil’s understanding of famous people and events in the past.

Bring History To Life The new Curriculum focuses on children developing a coherent understanding of Britain in the past and the wider world. Teachers should use a range of tactile resources and photos to engage children and bring history to life. Stimulating children’s interest in historical events through role play supports them in developing a true understanding of life in the past. Encouraging children to develop curiosity, ask questions, review evidence and make judgements are key skills highlighted in the new Curriculum.
