WELCOME Greetings Friends! Welcome to our 18th Annual Award and Benefit Gala, “From Selma To Chicago”. At the 100 Black Men of Chicago, Inc. (100BMC), our slogan is “What They See, Is What They’ll Be.” With the generous support of our Co-Chairs Pat Harris, McDonald’s Corporation’s Global Chief Diversity Officer and Tyronne Stoudemire Hyatt Corporation’s Vice President of Global Diversity and Inclusion, our corporate sponsors, partners and supporters like you, the 100BMC continues to create opportunities and positively change the lives of youth throughout the Chicagoland area. Windy City Live’s Ms. Val Warner and Mr. Ryan Chiaverini have returned to serve as our emcees for what will be a great program this evening. Their passion for impacting our youth will be evident as they help us celebrate our mentees and our honorees. Val & Ryan will help us to showcase the impact of our weekly mentoring. Our all-volunteer organization is the premiere provider of hundreds of mentoring hours impacting young people throughout the Chicagoland area. After the program, DJ Vince Adam will provide the music to keep the party going. Tonight, you will see many of our mentees from our five mentoring academies, students from our Pathways to Success entrepreneurial initiative (sponsored by Wells Fargo and Grainger) and introducing our first Collegiate 100 class from the University of Illinois – Chicago. Their testimonies fuel us to continue fighting the good fight. We’ll also preview our 13th Annual College Scholarship Fair Weekend. Scheduled for Friday and Saturday October 9th and 10th, 2015. It’s the largest in the country coordinated by an all-volunteer organization. Showcasing the achievements of our honorees and celebrating our graduating seniors from our program is the highlight of this evening’s programming. We’re glad you’re here to help us honor and support those who are committed to our mission- improving the quality of life and enhancing educational opportunities for African Americans and our youth advancing to their next stage in life. Creating Opportunities and Changing Lives… That’s why we exist Our website at 100bmc.org is a great place to learn more about how you can become involved in our other programs and initiatives.
