New Sponsors for Torry FC Torrevieja is delighted to announce Milton Express as an important new sponsor of the club. Milton Express, who have offices in nearby La Zenia, promote Winning Express, a home-based business opportunity specialising in creating tax free returns from the online betting industry. Current clients already benefit from an arbitrage facility regularly providing them with 2.75% monthly returns; higher yields are available from their sports betting advisory service although this by definition is more volatile. The Winning Express name will adorn the back of the club shirts and the company will have boards at the ground heralding their sponsorship of the team whom they hope to help progress up the league ladder. They will offer their services to fans who would be interested in seeing higher returns on their money than is generally currently available to them, using the companyʼs specialised expertise. Milton Express chairman John Murray was keen to create a sporting link in the area. “If you read the Winning Express mission statement”, he pointed out this week, “youʼll see the idea is to create a club atmosphere whereby members benefit not just from the services themselves but from the commissions they can derive from introducing others to the benefits. Iʼm delighted to be associated with FC Torrevieja, and Iʼm certain this can be a mutually beneficial partnership.” For more information on this attractive proposition then simply contact Jeff Scott on jeff53ref@yahoo.co.uk or at the matches; alternatively speak directly to Denise at the office on 965 994 815 or email her on denise@milton-express.com. 2
Torry Retuning A couple of senior players will no longer be wearing the FC Torrevieja shirt this season as the club seek to address the recent slump in form and drop down the league table. Pedro Lopez and Inarejos are the first to depart. Sadly Pedro is suffering from a serious knee injury which looks likely to end his career. It is believed that with the return to fitness of Rafa that Torry has a quartet of central defenders to cover the two central defensive positions. Serious discussions have taken place to understand why the team has performed so poorly in a couple of recent games, especially where wins would have seen the club firmly established in the top four. Instead the club is now far too close to the drop zone than is comfortable or expected. Players and staff have been advised that this situation is wholly unacceptable and that performances and results must improve, or they can expect further personnel changes.

FC TORRY Calendars Christmas is 9 days away! Yes, 8 shopping days until Christmas and some of you may be looking for something a little different for your footie loving friends. May we present to you the 2013 FC Torrevieja Calendar. The limited edition Calendar is available at all home games or you can reserve a copy by contacting Club Treasurer Jeff. The 2013 club calendar will NOT feature fit, naked young men, so there will be no need to 'up' the blood pressure medication! This may be a disappointment to some, but never fear, we will have something better to stir the blood. Keith Nicol, his son Brandon, Colin Lancaster and the odd amateur have been snapping and clicking like men possessed trying to find those action shots of our lads in play, to inspire a generation. The net result, excuse the pun, is a classy set of photographs that can adorn your kitchen wall and keep you well in touch with what day it is, or will be, provided you can take you eyes off the team and look for the date! We are indebted to many friends for helping fund this project and I hope you will support us by buying one today while you enjoy watching the lads play against CF Borriol. They cost a miserly â‚Ź5.00 each and will make a nice little present for your Torry friends. 4

On the slippery slope? Torry fans who turned up to watch their heroes after Thursday's inept performance against Borriol deserved a better performance and although Torry started out quite brightly they had no cutting edge and ultimately lost to a quicker, slicker outfit. Tur had to be alert to turn an early Elche effort round the post, worryingly for Torry there were several raids down the Elche left that had Vicente Boix chasing shadows. Elche had a couple of good opportunities to open the scoring and the first real chance Torry had fell to Cuco Ros who headed a good Luis Carlos cross straight at the keeper in the 20th minute. On the 34th minute another break down Torry's right brought a good cross which Carlos converted with a powerful near post header to put Elche ahead. Two minutes later and Torry were again caught out on their right and only a near post intervention by Dani prevented a second goal for Elche. The second half began with Ernesto on for the ineffective Cuco Ros and again Torry started the half brightly with Ernesto showing some composure on the ball and presenting the home defence with something to think about. Sadly for Torry a left wing corner, taken when Burguillos was receiving treatment off the pitch, was converted with an opponent unmarked in the six yard box having no difficulty heading into the net. Torry continued their efforts to get back in the game and after solid work by Ernesto had good claims for a penalty after what looked a blatant hand ball. With 30 minutes left Casimiro Torres replaced Jorge, who had been unluckily booked in the first half and Luis Carlos with Rafa and Manu Amores. However Elche continued to have control of the game and Tur was forced to make a couple of 6
Torry's first real attempt of the second half was a strong Manu Amores shot from the edge of the box on 83 minutes, which Jose Carlos dealt with comfortably. To their credit Torry did continue to press but the best they could do was a series of long range efforts from Ernesto, Inarejos and Abel which flew wide or over the bar. In the 86th minute Boix was perhaps lucky to escape with a yellow after a strong and unnecessary touch-line challenge which indicated the level of his frustration.
In summary it was a disappointing team performance, not to say there wasn't effort put in by some individuals but there was little constructive play and the team collectively seemed devoid of ideas when it came to breaking down the home defence. 7
CD Llosa Today's Visitors CD Llosa CD Llosa are yet another far flung Valencian side in our group and are new boys in all senses of the word. The club was formed in 1980 and last season was their first in the Tercera division. It was a lucky one in that they stayed up at the expense of Requena, courtesy of the three points they were awarded when Castellon made a protest and failed to play them! Currently they sit one point behind Torry in the table, most recently going down at home 0-2 to high flying Novelda. They have won their last two on the road and drew at Muro the one prior to that, so they are capable of springing a few surprises. Their leading goal scorer is Sergi Mesa Pรกrraga who has netted five to date this year. The 34 year old Barcelona born player notched ten for them last term and also enjoyed spells at La Nucia, Olimpic and Denia amongst others in his eventful career. Their El Sequiol ground is one of the smallest in the division with a capacity of only 500, so when we travel there we will need to arrive early in case the locals have it bulging to bursting! Three wins and a draw from their first five starts this season got them off to a flyer, which included a 3-0 win over Saguntino and a 4-0 beating of Utiel. They conceded their first goal this term in the October contest when losing 1-0 to Alzira. We wish Llosa a safe journey home, but hope it is empty handed, as Torry seek to stop the rot with a final home match win of 2012.

Santa comes early. The Borriol players must have thought Santa came early and giftwrapped the three points they took away from a very subdued Vicente Garcia on Thursday evening. Torry had started the game with hope of pushing on from their fifth place, while their opponents,in spite of a good win against Novelda last time out still languished in the relegation places. Torry had the first chance when on six minutes Luis Carlos cut inside and hammered a shot against the keeper. This was a false dawn however as Torry at times seemed to be in a collective coma. In the 10th minute Jorge passed to an opponent and was fortunate not to see his mistake punished with a goal. However, the opener was not far away and the Borriol number 5 took full advantage of being unmarked in the six yard box to head home a left wing corner. For the rest of the game Borriol made their intentions clear, defending in numbers from set pieces, often with all 11 men in their penalty box. Torry's best chance during this period came when after a quick break down the left by Koeman the ball was hammered against the bar by Gasch when it looked easier to score. Torry lived to regret that miss when Abel was crowded out in midfield and the ball was picked up by Borriol's number 10 who beat his man and cracked a shot wide to Manolo's right hand for the visitor's second goal. Abel made some amends and gave Torry a bit of hope only three minutes later when after a bit of ping-pong in the visitor's box he smashed a right foot volley under the diving keeper to make it 2-1 to the visitors. For the second half Torry replaced Jorge with Inarejos and Abel took his captain's armband and his place in the back four. However, in spite of some speedy breaks down the left by Inarejos, Torry toiled unsuccessfully in their attempts to get back on level terms. It seemed they were unable to put any coherent moves together and passes regularly went astray, none of the home players seemed to have any composure on the ball and consequently they never established any control over proceedings. Indeed Borriol had a chance for a third goal when a strong shot hit the post and Manolo did well to save the follow-up. 12
In the 84th minute Borriol had a player dismissed and the Torry faithful perhaps harboured thoughts of an equaliser. The nearest that hope came to fruition was in injury time when an indirect free a few yards from the Borriol goal led to a shot being deflected for a corner. The referee seemed happy with this in spite of the encroachment of the Borriol players when the kick was taken. Ultimately though it was a poor performance from Torry and they didn't deserve anything out of the game.

Group 6 Round Up Inching away The top two - La Nucia and Novelda - both won at the weekend and are opening up a little gap between themselves and the pack chasing the top four places. La Nucia managed just the one goal to beat Denia coming in the 94th minute from defender Vico in a match that saw Petu sent off for two cautionable offences. Meanwhile Novelda scored two second half goals at Llosa to maintain their place in the top two. Third hosted fourth and shared the spoils, both Alzira and Castellon cementing their play off aspirations in a 1-1 draw. Elche moved into fifth spot by outplaying Torry with a goal in each half, with Villarreal C staking their name to sixth place, though level on points with Elche Ilicitano on 27 points. Their 1-1 draw being earned with an 83rd minute strike from Oncina. Muro stopped the rot with a 1-1 draw at Utiel, the hosts taking the lead after 18 minutes, but Muro levelling 7 minutes into the second half. The game was notable for a fifteen minute blackout when the floodlights failed ten minutes from the end, but all was restored for both sides to complete the match and share the spoils. Burriana and Acero played the only goalless game of the weekend, the point lifting Burriana above Torry in the league. Borriol took a two nil advantage just after the half hour mark - much as they did against Torry midweek, but Jove fought back to level the contest with ten minutes remaining. Borriol thought they had notched the winner on 81 only for substitute Gurrero to tie the game at 3-3 in the 85th minute, six after his introduction. The bottom two clubs did themselves a power of good with Crevillente winning 3-0 at Ribarroja. Torry old boys did the damage with Micro netting the first two before Dani Mesenguer completed the scoring with a third. 14
TERCERA DIVISIĂ“N: Grupo 6
Catarroja enjoyed their second win of the term defeating Saguntino 3-2 after falling behind to a Rober goal in the 27th minute. Seven points separates the team in fifth just outside the play off places and the team on 20 points just above the relegation quartet. Torry are plum in the middle of this group on 23 points and need to get their act together - soon!
