New Sponsors for Torry FC Torrevieja is delighted to announce Milton Express as an important new sponsor of the club. Milton Express, who have offices in nearby La Zenia, promote Winning Express, a homebased business opportunity specialising in creating tax free returns from the online betting industry. Current clients already benefit from an arbitrage facility regularly providing them with 2.75% monthly returns; higher yields are available from their sports betting advisory service although this by definition is more volatile. The Winning Express name will adorn the back of the club shirts and the company will have boards at the ground heralding their sponsorship of the team whom they hope to help progress up the league ladder. They will offer their services to fans who would be interested in seeing higher returns on their money than is generally currently available to them, using the companyʼs specialised expertise. Milton Express chairman John Murray was keen to create a sporting link in the area. “If you read the Winning Express mission statement”, he pointed out this week, “youʼll see the idea is to create a club atmosphere whereby members benefit not just from the services themselves but from the commissions they can derive from introducing others to the benefits. Iʼm delighted to be associated with FC Torrevieja, and Iʼm certain this can be a mutually beneficial partnership.” 2

New Sponsors for Torry FC Torrevieja welcomes this timely involvement with the club, as they knuckle down to the tough task in hand of fighting for promotion. The club also stands to benefit when new clients are established through club referrals, thus making everyone a winner! Club Treasurer Jeff Scott has already become a member and plans to help others involved with the team learn of this super opportunity to increase their income and boost the funds of the club at the same time. One high profile member of Winning Express is Steve Claridge, one of the very few footballers to rack up over 1,000 professional appearances and now a highly regarded TV and radio pundit. Media commitments permitting, Steve intends to attend a game early in the new year. Milton Express representatives came to watch the recent home game against Catarroja, witnessing Torry's biggest win this millennium! Sounds like a good luck charm if ever there was one! For more information on this attractive proposition then simply contact Jeff Scott on jeff53ref@yahoo.co.uk or at the matches; alternatively speak directly to Denise at the office on 965 994 815 or email her on denise@milton-express.com. 3

FC TORRY Calendars Christmas is 19 days away! Yes, 18 shopping days until Christmas and some of you may be looking for something a little different for your footie loving friends. May we present to you the 2013 FC Torrevieja Calendar. The limited edition Calendar is available at all home games or you can reserve a copy by contacting Club Treasurer Jeff. The 2013 club calendar will NOT feature fit, naked young men, so there will be no need to 'up' the blood pressure medication! This may be a disappointment to some, but never fear, we will have something better to stir the blood. Keith Nicol, his son Brandon, Colin Lancaster and the odd amateur have been snapping and clicking like men possessed trying to find those action shots of our lads in play, to inspire a generation. The net result, excuse the pun, is a classy set of photographs that can adorn your kitchen wall and keep you well in touch with what day it is, or will be, provided you can take you eyes off the team and look for the date! We are indebted to many friends for helping fund this project and I hope you will support us by buying one today while you enjoy watching the lads play against CF Borriol. They cost a miserly â‚Ź5.00 each and will make a nice little present for your Torry friends. 4

Didnʼt see the Trotters! With the “World Famous” Vicente Garcia out of action the Torry faithful headed over the road to cross swords with Catarroja at the Estadio Nelson Mandela. As a visitor to the area, this was my first game at this venue. Now, my association with Nelson Mandela is not with the man, but with the estate wherein abided Delboy (no not Brian Philips), Rodney and various family members. I couldnʼt see a yellow three wheeler in sight, though I have to admit the souped up Merc belonging to the President caught my eye. I scanned the ground for the inhabitants and saw an iffy looking sort touting programmes at the gate with the tag line, “come and read all about it and get next weekʼs winning lotto numbers inside”! I didnʼt hear him crow “luvly jubbly”, but he was a contender. I thought I heard someone ask at the bar for a pina colada, but on reflection it was a discussion on coloured blinds from a company called Pinada! Whether or not there were any ”plonkers” cheering on the team I cannot say, but I am sure that some of the visiting team felt like a “right Rodney” by the end of ninety minutes, as they endured their heaviest defeat in many a long day. I also noticed the uprooted rugby posts lying behind the goals and was advised that this is the venue for such matches. Ouch! Not sure that playing rugby on an artificial surface is my idea of a fun day out. Maybe there are a few plonkers in the area after all! (Sorry rugby players, especially the big ones!) As it transpired Torry took to the surface like they train there every day (oh, they do!), whilst Catarroja hoped and prayed the final score would not resemble that of a rugger match. Torry netted half a dozen before resting on their laurels. But I was impressed that six different individuals got on the scoresheet. I intend making it to the Borriol six goals, so I hope the lads Iʼll keep my eyes open for in case they swing by, but there is plenty of action, Iʼll be satisfied.

@NuttySports 6

game to see another donʼt disappoint me. any Trotters, just so long as goalmouth

My type of player I think most fans enjoyed the blazing runs and pace of young Luis Carlos in our last home match against Catarroja. It was great to see him get on the scoresheet as well as set up chances for his colleagues. I have liked this agreeable young man since the day he joined the club and it now seems as though he has truly settled in to the team and I fully expect him to be one of our prize assets in our bid for promotion. Luis is compact and turbo charged, just like Maradona and Messi and also possesses a sweet left foot. He plays mainly on the right flank and thus is able to cut in and fire off a right footed thunderbolt. This is the kind of excitement and entertainment fans want at games. I don't know how many 6-0 victories before we can entice big crowds back to the World Famous Vicente Garcia, but maybe four or five on the bounce would do it! Still only 21 - though you can shout "happy 22nd birthday" to him at the next home match on 16 December when we host Llosa - Luis is still developing and has a bright future ahead of him - hopefully with Torry. It is a sign of his vigour and effort, as well as skill down the wing, that we are not missing "Rammy" too much and we hope Luis turns out to be a long term favourite at this club as well. 7

CF Borriol Today's Visitors CF Borriol Borriol arrive at the Vicente Garcia enduring a desperate start to the season, deep in the relegation mire. Mind you, with teams being separated by not too many points, it is well within their capability to string a run of decent results together and climb out of trouble - not just today though! They beat high flying Alzira 3-0 in September and crushed Acero 5-1 just a few weeks ago. So they are an able squad. Formed 60 years ago in 1952, Borriol debuted in the third division only two years ago and despite having a better goal difference, lost out on the playoffs for 2B on their head to head results with La Nucia, defeating them 2-1 in the last game of that season, but having gone down by 4-2 in the contest at the Camilo Cano. They finished mid table in 12th place last term. Despite their lowly league position they can be hard to score against and have conceded less than Torry after their opening fourteen matches. Famous golfer and poker player Sergio Garcia strips out for the team when it is quiet on the greens, as is is wont, being President of the club and a native of the town. Formerly ranked number 2 in the world, he currently is rated 21st. But it is the football that focusses the mind today, with Torry seeking back to back home wins after that stunning 6-0 demolition job on Catarroja.

THE TORRY ARMY Proud to Support FC Torrevieja TORRY ARMY NEWS Last Sunday the Torry Army had a day out, taking a coach-load of FC Torrevieja supporters first to Benidorm for a stroll on the beachfront/ beer on the beachfront or a spot of shopping , then onto Monroes carvery for a delicious Sunday roast and then onto the match at the delightful sports complex in La Nucia. Both defences generally dominated and the 0-0 score-line was a fair result on the day. If there is sufficient demand the Torry Army will arrange coach travel to the next way game against Elche Ilicitano. this weekend. The game is likely to be on Sunday, but on going to press, the kick-off time and venue were unknown. Elche Ilicitano are “nomads” and donʼt have a home ground where they regularly play. Suffice it to say it will be somewhere in or close to Elche so it will be close to home. Check the Torry Army website www.fctorrevieja.net for the date/time and venue. Book your place/s for the coach at the ground today on the Torry Army stand after entry to the ground, at the Torry Army Office in San Luis or ring Pat Stewart on 966786352 / 688698894. The last Fun Quiz-Night held recently at the Casa Ventura in San Luis was an overwhelming success with over 70 people attending and having a great evening. Arthur will be arranging another early in the new year. Tickets for the Torry Army Christmas Dinner on the evening of Thursday 13 December at Elviras Restaurant in San Luis are still on sale at the Torry Army Office in San Luis at a reduced price of 15euros per head. Those of you who have purchased tickets will receive a 3 euro refund. Sales of tickets have been slow and if you havenʼt bought one yet please consider doing so. 10

The Torry Army committee organise “social events” for your participation and enjoyment so please support them if you can. The Christmas meal comprises 3 courses with a glass of wine with live music afterwards by the ever popular “Woody” . Buy a ticket/s now and get out your dancing shoes and give them a polish. The Torry Army Office in San Luis is open Monday to Friday between 10.00 and 12.00. Pop in for a chat and a cuppa and lend a book from the lending library and have a look at the merchandise which is available. It is an “Aladdinʼs Cave” and you may be tempted into buying something especially with Christmas coming up soon. New White, Blue or Yellow Torry Army Polo Shirts are now on sale at the Torry Army Stall in the ground on match-days or at the Torry Army Office in San Luis with discounted prices for Torry Army members. Members of the Torry Army proudly joined in the floral procession last Saturday to mark the start of Torreviejaʼs Patronal Fiestas. The Torry Army Player of the Month for November, voted by fans on the coach back from La Nucia last Sunday, was Luis Carlos. He will be presented with a “Bottle of Bubbly” on the pitch before todays game. One of the proud sponsors of the Torry Army is The Spice Hut, Quesada, the Award Winning Indian restaurant which serves up delicious, reasonably priced, Indian cuisine in ambient surroundings. Give it a try. You will not be disappointed. 11

Camilo Cano shut out For the third consecutive season La Nucia and FC Torrevieja played out a goalless draw at the Camilo Cano. Soon neither fans nor players will have the need to turn up, simply agreeing in advance that this game is without goals, excitement or much action worth talking about and they take a point each without all the huffing and puffing. Referee Jonathan Benabeu Pena did most of the huffing and puffing, finding easy access to his breast pocket and shooting out yellows here, there and everywhere, Torry picked up five with Inarejos the first in the notebook, followed by Dani, Abel, Jorge and Javi Rosa. That is now our captain's eighth caution in 14 games, so maybe still room for improvement! To be fair, some officials knock them out like Freddie Flintock would like to, so he's not all to blame. Dani was replaced by Cuco Ros at the interval, maybe because of that caution, then Ernesto was taken off on the hour mark to make way for Koeman. Ernesto never got going and gave the ball away with frustrating monotony throughout the game. He is a mere shadow of the player he looked at the start of the season and fans dearly wish that he recaptures his swagger soon, as he is a magical footballer when on song. Sadly Koeman too struggled to make his mark, though as ever, he was energetic and competitive. On the other side Petu got no change whatsoever from Jorge and Burguillos who snuffed out his threat early doors and never let him advance into dangerous areas. Both sides struggled to create chances and Tur, deputising for the sick Manolo, had a relatively easy introduction to life in a Torry shirt. He was given a back pass late in the second half and made a hash of clearing it, but instantly redeemed himself with a fine save from what would have proved an unjust winner for the home side. Luis Carlos caused mischief down the flanks, but it was mischief as opposed to mayhem, but he was always exciting going forward. Javi Rosa has really flourished these last few games. He is now match fit and exudes composure at left back. Playing against one of his former clubs he was determined not to yield and he dug deep to ensure the point. He is not afraid to join in the attacks and several times in the second half he was to be found almost as a left winger. Abel spurned a couple of chances that we wished had fallen to Gasch, until he then wasted the best opportunity of the game in injury time. After great work from substitute Manu Amores down the right wing, the ball was presented on a plate to the advancing Gasch about twelve yards from goal. He did have several defenders between himself and goal but his side foot shot did not hit the target. All in all it was a point that moved Torry up up the table, but once again, it should have been a victory. If we continue to drop points in games that we really should be winning, then I suspect we will have to give this season's play offs a miss. That would be a tragedy, as this bunch of players are the best we have had in a long while and genuinely capable of doing the business. Let's pick up three points today and get right back in the mix!

Group 6 Round Up Tight at the Top Elche Ilicitano played the only Saturday game and a 90th minute winner from Anton gave them a 2-1 success and took them to fifth in the table, one off the play off places - that's just how tight it all has become! Novelda kicked off at midday at Borriol on Sunday intending to stay clear at the top but were surprised by an 8th minute home goal from Pablo Ribes. Borriol hung on to pocket three valuable points and see Novelda knocked off the top. Ribarroja entertained Burriana also at midday, with the visitors looking to draw level on points with Elche on the fringes of the promotion slots. An 86th minute winner from Emilio Tauste won the day for the visitors and took them on to 23 points with four other clubs. Utiel hoped to knock Castellon out of the top four, replacing them there should they record a win. That was not to be the case as again we had another away success with Castellon cementing their position in the top four with three first half goals, the first two within seven minutes of the kick off. Castellon are now in fourth place but have opened up a gap of four points between themselves and the chasing pack. Llosa hoped to prevent Acero leapfrogging them by ensuring they did not lose. Yet another away win upset that plan with Acero triumphing in a five goal thriller with Bielsa's 89th minute strike doing the damage. Muro sought a return to the mix after back to back losses but Gandia is never a easy ground to win at. Thus it proved as Muro crashed to their third successive defeat and have only won one from their last seven. Gandia's 2-0 win puts a little space between them and the relegation strugglers. 14

TERCERA DIVISIĂ“N: Grupo 6

Alzira intended to stay put in the top four by beating Saguntino, who themselves were hoping to join a plethora of clubs on 23 points with a victory. Alzira did even better than they might have imagined with a 2-0 victory over Saguntino and jump to the top of the table. They are the group's top scorers, somewhat unusual for a side normally renowned for their tight defensive qualities. If Eldense allowed Denia to defeat them at the impressive Pepico Amat, then they would swap places with them in the relegation zone. They ensured that was not the case with old pal Diego Meijide opening the scoring en route to a 2-0 home win, which sees them now five points clear of Denia in that final relegation slot. Catarroja hoped to recover from their mauling at Torrevieja last week and start a belated revival, whilst visitors Jove sought to steam back into play off contention with a win. It ended all square at one apiece, Catarroja still plum last, and Jove one of those five sides all peering in to the play off window on 23 points. 15
