Gone To Keller New Professional Employee Welcome August 11-13, 2014 Trinity Springs Middle School

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Keller Independent School District family. I hope you are excited about the journey on which we are about to embark together. I’m honored to be Superintendent here, and I’m excited about the decision you have made to join us. Keller ISD is known across the country as one of the highest performing school districts in the state of Texas. Of course, along with that distinction comes the responsibility and honor of maintaining and improving such a reputation. I have no doubt that each of you will embrace that challenge and continually find new ways to make a positive impact on the educational experiences of our students. Our motto in Keller ISD is, “Intentionally Exceptional,” and we strive to be exactly that each day with every action we take and every decision we make. While our mission is to educate students to achieve their highest standards of performance, and prepare them for the life they will choose beyond our classrooms, we also prioritize continuing education in our own lives. As we insist on the value of learning for all students, it’s important that all employees are also committed to lifelong learning for themselves. We hope you find the KISD environment one that encourages your personal and professional growth and development, because as the world continues to evolve, we want to be ready to meet the changing needs of our students. What truly makes Keller ISD a special place is its people, and that starts with our outstanding employees. We are blessed with a workforce of dedicated, hard-working individuals, focused on bringing their very best to their jobs every day in support of our students. We are fortunate to have a community of homeowners, residents, and business owners who are highly invested in our District and continually demonstrate their support of our students’ educational goals. Additionally, we have a Board of Trustees—a group of seven publicly elected, unpaid volunteers—and each of them is committed to making the tough decisions necessary to assure that KISD employees have the facilities, tools, and support to provide the best education for our students. You have made a fantastic choice to join Keller ISD. I am happy to have each and every one of you here and I wish each of you the best of luck as you begin your journey with us. Sincerely,

Dr. Randy Reid Keller ISD Superintendent

DISTRICT IDENTITY Our Students In 2012-13, Keller ISD graduates were offered more than $43 million in scholarships, a figure up nearly $21 million in the last six years. Activities beyond the classroom also play a major role in fulfilling our goals for students. Students participating in academic decathlon, athletics, band, cheerleading, choir, DECA, drama, drill team and other UIL competitions have enjoyed the thrill of championship recognition. Our Enrollment Growth Keller ISD has 39 campuses serving more than 33,000 students. Enrollment in Keller ISD has more than doubled during the past 10 years and is expected to rise to more than 40,000 during the next decade, making us one of the fastestgrowing school districts in Texas. To help accommodate this growth, the district has opened 23 new schools since 2000, including a fourth high school in 2009. The community approved a bond proposal in November 2008 that allowed the construction of Timberview Middle School and the Keller Early Learning Center which opened in August 2010, and the District's 22nd elementary campus, Ridgeview Elementary in August 2011. Keller ISD students advance through a four-tier campus system: Elementary (grades K-4), Intermediate (grades 5-6), Middle (grades 7-8) and High School (grade 9-12). Visit Our Schools Our Community The district serves portions of the cities of Colleyville, Fort Worth, Haltom City, Hurst, North Richland Hills, Southlake, Watauga, and Westlake and the entire City of Keller. Its 51 square miles encompass the third-largest land area in Tarrant County. Our People KISD employs more than 3,700 staff members including just over 2,200 classroom instructional employees. Everything Keller ISD employees do is focused on providing an exceptional educational experience for students whether it be teaching in the classroom, maintaining the facilities our students use, or offering support and guidance for students and staff alike.
