TRADITIONAL SUGAR COOKIES

Great for drop cookies and roll outs. Eat plain or decorate. Great fun family activity.

Ingredients: Double batch recipe. Feel free to cut in half for smaller dough size. 1 ½ cup Shortening 2 cups White Granulated Sugar 4 Eggs 2 TSP Vanilla Extract 5 cups of Unbleached Flour 2 TSP Baking Powder 2 TSP Salt

Mix the Shortening, Sugar, Eggs, and Vanilla in Mixer on low.

Blend in bowl Flour, Baking Powder and Salt.

Slowly add the flour mixture to the original mix. Cover & chill for at least 1 hour.

Preheat Oven to 400 degrees. Roll dough onto lightly floured surface. Use any cookie cutters and place on ungreased baking sheet. (Add Sprinkles if desired)

Bake 6-8 minutes until very light brown.
