Follow Your Passions,

Pursue Your Goals Students choose UWM at Waukesha and UWM at Washington County because they want to kick-start their college careers closer to home and in a way that’s more affordable than a traditional four-year university. A few other reasons students choose these campuses include: →→ Small Classes: Students get individualized attention from their professors and engaging

learning experiences. The average class size for both of these campuses is less than 25 students per class. →→ Welcoming Community: Each campus has a wide variety of clubs and student

organizations to join, so it’s easy to get involved and find your crowd. →→ Affordable Education: Beginning your college journey at one of our two-year campuses

is a great way to save on tuition before transferring to a four-year university to finish your bachelor’s degree. →→ Straightforward Transfer Process: Many Waukesha and Washington County students plan

to transfer to UW-Milwaukee main campus to get their bachelor’s degree. Because all three campuses are part of UWM, the transfer process is simple.

WHAT BEING PART OF UW-MILWAUKEE MEANS: In 2018, UWM welcomed two-year campuses in Waukesha and Washington County to its family. Students at UWM at Waukesha and UWM at Washington County now get the best of both worlds: the personal education of a small college and an affordable start to a four-year degree at a top-tier research university. Plus, students at the two-year campuses get to enjoy some of UWM’s most popular student traditions, such as Pantherfest — a free concert for UWM students to kick off the school year. Recent headliners have included Khalid and Kesha.

Why I Chose Waukesha

“I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do in high school, so I decided to start at Waukesha and see where it took me and I have no regrets. And UWM at Waukesha is affordable. I’m very fortunate to be able to say that when I leave here, I’ll have no student loans.”

Tight-Knit Community

“Professors are super personable and know students’ names. You feel like you matter here, and I grew really close with all my professors. I was kind of lost coming out of high school, and UWM at Waukesha made me excited to learn again.”

Moving to Milwaukee

“When I visit Milwaukee, I feel right at home. I love city life. And UW-Milwaukee is so central to my favorite places, like the Oriental Theater and all the coffee shops. I also really like UWM’s psychology department and I’m excited to get my bachelor’s degree there.”

PURSUING COMPUTER SCIENCE AND GERMAN, SOPHOMORE BEAVER DAM, WISCONSIN

Why I Chose Washington County

“UWM at Washington County is the most inviting campus I’ve ever been to and it felt like home right away. I’ve never walked into a class and not felt welcome. You’d have to try to not make friends here.”

My Favorite Class

“Philosophy 101 was the wildest subject I’ve ever tiptoed into. The professor was the most interesting guy I’ve ever met and he always explained everything in an approachable, down-to-earth way.”

Transferring to UW-Milwaukee

“I love Washington County, but I’m ready for a different atmosphere. Right now, I’m trying to rent an apartment in Milwaukee. UWM’s Neighborhood Housing Office has been phenomenal in helping me navigate that process.”
