in Coastal Architecture
This design thesis presents the coastal protection design process that not only allow the coexistence between mangrove and shrimp farm but also inhibit erosion and recuperate the community network through the participation process and “ replacement method � by replace mangrove into shrimp farm. The architectural process is divided into 4phases.The architecture of this coastal protection would gradually change according to the condition of topography and the growth of new mangroves at each stage. As a result,the architectural process of this coastal protection would bring back the mangroves to the coast and provide public spaces that will uplift the relationship between the locals and the mangrove, bringing back the mangrove to the local’s everyday life and help protect the coast in a sustainable manner.
