WHERE FAMILY GATHERS OUR HEART FOR THE HOUSE
BY RICH WILKERSON, SR
When I think of a House, I think of the place my family gathers. It is a special place where I feel at home, surrounded by the people I love. Trinity Church is a HOUSE, a special place where my family, each of you, gathers together each week. As a family we are all blessed when any one person succeeds, reaches out to others, or meets and surpasses the goals they set for themselves. I am always impressed by the dedication and generosity of my Trinity family. Each person at Trinity Church and Peacemakers is a vital part of an amazing and powerful family of believers. I am so thankful and blessed to be a part of what we are doing! I know it is as important to you as it is to me that our community takes time each year to focus on our Heart for the House. We use our Heart to embrace the revelation that God uses the local church to transform the world, and to develop our Passion to build it. I believe the local church, Trinity Church, is the hope of the world. During our Heart for the House offering, each of us brings our BEST offering to the altar, an offering above our weekly tithes. This special
offering is a Step of Faith as we make a commitment to stretch ourselves to meet the needs of our church. Our Heart for the House is demonstrated through our giving, our Service, and our Faith. You must present as the Lord’s portion the best and holiest part of everything given to you. (Numbers 18:29) The Heart for the House pledge weekend is in July this year. When we pledge our support and support the work the Trinity Family is doing, we prove that our goal of winning people for God is our most important goal. Together we are changing the World one person at a time! God honors the faith of those who act. Will you join with me as we show our Heart for the House this year? I am asking you do three things. First, PRAY about stepping out in faith and giving to Heart for the House. Ask the Lord how He wants you to support your Trinity Family. Second, BELIEVE that God provides in unexpected ways. Every year I hear new, amazing stories about how God moves in the lives of our family members who step out in faith and honor God’s House. These stories are tangible proof to me that God is providing for our Trinity Family! Finally, ACT. Don’t forget to pledge your support for Heart for the House during our Pledge Weekend. On this special weekend we are joining together to GIVE as one family — investing in God’s House. Your HEART FOR THE HOUSE, your generous and willing heart, is making a difference in the lives of those in our Trinity Family and in our surrounding community. Thank you! I know there are going to be big things in your life and in the lives of our entire Trinity FAMILY in the next year. Our church’s future holds amazing surprises! I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:14) Rich & Robyn Wilkerson are the Senior Pastors of Trinity Church in Miami, FL & founders of Peacemakers ministries. Married 40+ years they have 4 children & 2 grandchildren.

importance of standing for what is right even when others don’t.
Each week our goal is to get every kid
in the room excited about Jesus. Start with
high-energy music, the kids rush to the stage,
dancing and worshiping together. These amaz-
ing kids are getting to know Jesus and discover-
ing who they are in the process. It’s impossible to
not smile and laugh with them as they high five their
way back to their seats after worship. Their enthusiasm
is contagious!
After worship a leader shouts: “KidZone, how are you feeling
today?” The response is a special KidZone chant with the kids
shouting down the walls – the louder the better! We then move into
a time of giving. Watching the kids give their offering is a humbling
experience. They give everything they have with joy and complete gen-
erosity. Their attitude is a reminder to each of us – how we give is just as
important as what we give!
Now it’s time for large group activity. Utilizing skits, stage activities, and fun games to teach a specific virtue and memory verse. They learn the
importance of the virtue and how it practically applies to their lives. Next we break into our small groups, where Servant Leaders recap the lesson using age-appropriate interactive FUN activities. Services end and parents start to trickle through the doors. The kids rush them, excited to share everything they learned that day. I sat down with our KidZone Pastor, Keefe Flynn to go a little deeper into the fun and exciting world that is KidZone! DANIELLA ARAGON: How do you see the kids responding to the different activities in KidZone?

DA: Any new and exciting activities coming up?
Keefe Flynn, Director of KidZone leading Large Group Activity.
KF: Very exciting things are happening in the next few months! KidZone Pajama Jam is July 27, from 7pm-11pm. We’ll play games, eat popcorn, and watch a movie.
KEEFE FLYNN: They are full of energy! They jump and dance during praise and worship. Then they interact with positive, ready to learn attitudes during our large and small group lessons. Their hearts, minds, and ears are ready every week to hear and receive God’s word.
We’re also very excited to announce our very first KidZone Conference – UNSTOPPABLE this September 11 & 12. The kids will learn more about God through great worship, encouraging messages, exciting and cool activities, lots of laughter, and a ton of fun!
DA. What do you envision for the kids at KidZone?
Kidzone embodies the mission of Trinity Church. We encourage children to use their imagination, believe with all their heart, and achieve with all their might. Although we may not be able to prepare the future for our children, we can prepare our children for the future!
KF: These children are the future of Trinity Church and our community! It’s amazing to hear what take home and share with their family and friends, and to see the joy they experience in getting to share God’s word. They are already becoming the leaders and world changers God called them to be.

SURROUNDED STANDING Hope, Home & Faith at NoMi
by Richardy Blanchard
Her life so eloquently models the characteristics of the Noble Woman seen in Proverbs 31: graceful, modest, faithful, kind, wise, strong. She is my mentor and co-pastor of our Trinity Church North Miami Campus, Lisette Gonzalez. I’ve watched her endure both good and bad days since receiving her cancer diagnosis in December of 2014. I’ve seen moments where she seems energetic and healthy, and others where she seems weak and feeble. In both instances I’ve watched as she’s worshipped with every ounce of strength, hands raised, thanking God and trusting Him through this journey. Since her diagnoses there’s been a shift in the worship and prayer at NoMi. I credit this shift to our campus pastors, Marcus and Lisette. Their faith and hope has been so contagious that every member of our NoMi community has been affected by it. Pastor Lisette speaks here about how God is moving in her battle with cancer and in the ministry at NoMi: “I was sick for several months and it wasn’t clear why or what I had. There were many things happening in my body at the same time that didn’t allow anyone to pinpoint what exactly was going on. After a few visits to the doctor, I was referred to a hematologist. Right away they noticed that something was wrong. My complexion was yellow and I was weak. They took blood labs and had the results back within minutes. They immediately admitted me to the hospital because my hemoglobin was 5.5 where the average for a woman is 12-14. I was in the hospital for almost a week – after many tests and finally a bone marrow biopsy because “abnormal” cells were found in my abdominal lining – we got some results.
MINISTRY HIGHLIGHT
“I will never forget sitting in the waiting area at the doctor’s office with my husband, Marcus, knowing that our journey was about to shift. We sat there holding hands as the doctor said, “You have a very rare form of cancer called Anemo Lobular Carcinoma. It is a cancer that originates/ forms in the breast so it is a rare type of breast cancer. However, it forms there and then moves. It’s no longer in your breast. It is in your bones, bone marrow, and abdominal lining.” I have to say, I cried, yet I was also at peace – that peace that truly surpassed all understanding. “Telling our kids, daughter Jocelyn age 16 and son Jonathan age 12, was probably the hardest part. We felt that it was very important not to hide this away from our children but instead endure it together.
place where you can find refuge, peace and strength. It’s a place where you can connect with God and with people. I come in many times with pain or not feeling well and a simple hug or smile speaks a thousand words of comfort to me. The funny thing is, you hear the word “cancer” and it’s this HUGE word that tends to bring fear. However, it didn’t bring as much fear as I thought it would. It’s a horrible disease but I keep telling myself and reminding myself that God is greater than anything. That’s just it… God is greater, and no matter what if He’s allowed me to get something like whatever I have, then there’s reason and purpose and victory behind it. I had no idea the journey I was about to take but I knew that with the Lord and my family and friends, there is NOTHING we can’t do!” Listening to Pastor Lisette share her story about battling cancer and trusting God for complete healing encourages me to believe that God is in everything in my life as well. He’s in every moment – good and bad. What may seem like the hardest most impossible times of our lives, in the end is the thing that God uses to bring Himself glory. God is faithful.
When I told the kids I had cancer, they cried and my husband and I also began to cry. Amid all the tears my husband said, “Today we cry but tomorrow we kick cancer in the butt!” I told the kids that I wanted to go through this journey together as a family. We believe as a family that we struggle, we cry, we stand, we pray, and we fight together. “Even the days when I physically feel horrible with pain or right after treatments, my family still tells me how beautiful and sexy I am. I know that may not seem like much to some, but to me it is the world. My husband is my best friend, he isn’t just standing with me, but he is speaking life to me and encouraging me even in the way I look. “Trinity Church has been an incredible aspect of my testimony. Everyone has been so gracious and faithful in standing with me, praying for me, loving me and my family, and just being family to us. I am blessed beyond measure. Having a place that you can call Home where you are surrounded by believers who know & love God is such a life-altering thing! This is a place where you can truly STAND with greater strength and greater joy because you are surrounding yourself with people who will encourage you and who you get to encourage as well. “This life isn’t meant for us to do alone. Going to NoMi on Sundays is so important to me. It’s where I get to celebrate how GREAT God is! It’s a
One of my favorite passages is Proverbs 31:10 where the writer speaks of the Noble Woman saying, “she is far more precious than jewels and her value is far above rubies or pearls.” I never truly understood what this verse means until now. I’ve learned that no matter how beautiful a pearl is – it comes at a price – it is only formed through struggle. A pearl can only be made when its vessel has been afflicted, and the vessel creates something exceptionally beautiful as it heals from the pain. Though this unforeseen moment with cancer may seem to be a wound and affliction, it is creating a testimony
we struggle, we cry, we stand, we pray, & we fight
together and a move of God that is much more beautiful than we could have ever imagined. Pastor Lisette continues to get good reports from her physicians and she continues to stand in prayer for a FULL recovery – and we all stand with her, praising and thanking God! •

THE VOICES OF TRINITY: Everyone’s experience is unique – and we each have a story to tell. We want to give voice to your voice – highlighting how God continues to use broken vessels to tell His story to a hurting world. If you’re ready to share your story – be it a testimony, drawing, short story, or poem; please submit it to rblanchard@peacemakers.com. Someone out there needs to hear you tell your story!
WATER BAPTISM: Baptism is a public declaration of your inward faith. If you have accepted Christ as your personal savior let us help you make the next step and celebrate your baptism. Baptisms happen every 3rd Sunday of the month. Sign up by filling out the VIP card or by stopping by the Next Steps booth.
