Schweiss Doors provides door of choice for American champion
Former snowmobile racer stands by bifold doors for machinery buildings FAIRFAX, Minn., January 6, 2016 – How champion snowmobiler Frans Rosenquist got his start in farming back in the late 1970s is a bit unusual. How he came to rely exclusively on doors from Schweiss Doors for his farm’s outbuildings is completely typical. “I started farming on my own in 1978. When I was right out of high school, doing road construction, I helped my step dad farm his 160 acres,” Rosenquist says. The size of the farm he worked back in those days is a far cry from the 6,000 acres he and his family — wife Debbie, son Jason and son-in-law Brandon Barber — now tend north of Atwater, Minn., where they grow corn, soybeans, peas and sweet corn. “I bought my first tractor and equipment with racing money,” Rosenquist recounts. “I raced professionally for the snowmobile manufacturers starting when I was about 19 years old.” Rosenquist’s sled racing career lasted until 1985. He announced his retirement after qualifying for the World Championships for the sixth time. As the Rosenquists farming operation grew, they needed buildings to house an expanding line of equipment. Those buildings needed quality doors. That’s how they came to be customers of Schweiss Doors. “The first bifold door I ever had was a cable door that came out of Wisconsin ,” Rosenquist recalled. “We hadn’t run it for about a month and the dang cables broke. I called the manufacturer and he told me that they updated their door, but they weren’t going to stand behind my door so we put our own bigger cables on it and kinda fixed it ourselves. The door was sprung and never worked right. I had my fill of that company, so I bought my first Schweiss bifold door and it worked so good. So every time we built a new building or updated another building, we put a Schweiss door on it. We replaced that troublesome cable door with a new Schweiss door with a walkout

door,” he added. Rosenquist said he no longer shops around for doors when the need arises because he’s convinced the doors from Schweiss are the best on the market. “A coulter kit from Ron’s Manufacturing converts any chisel plow to a tool that prepares perfect seed beds for Planting,” syas inventor and owner Ron Tschetter. Ron’s coulters have stronger bearings than other machines on the market to withstand tough working conditions and high horsepower tractors. Here are some differences between Ron and his competitors - the competitors use a 1 1/4 inch or 1 3/16 inch tapered bearing compared to the 1 3/8 inch size that Ron uses. Also, one of the competitors has a cap and strap mounting that has to be removed to tighten the tapered bearings. The other competitor has nongreasable bearings mounted lower on the shaft. Ron’s kids have four larger, flat ball bearings that are pressed into the hub and a cold rolled shaft, that way when the bearings are worn some of it won’t ruin the hub or the shaft like a self aligning bearing. When a slef aligning bearing getst dry it spins in the hub and ruins the hub. A pressed in bearing in a steel tubing won’t do this. The strength and durability of Ron’s kids is unsurprassed on the market. The bearing center support is greasable and the shaft is made of a cold rolled steel and drilled for a roll pin to the hub plate. The outer; shield is cup shaped and goes over the bearing center so thtat weeks and other materials can’t get in to the bearing seal. The hub plate is held on with a 3/4” inch bolt and collar. OTTER’S INC. RECEIVES 2016 WKMA NEW PRODUCT AWARD
Otter’s, Inc., received the Western Kansas Manufacturers Association (WKMA) 2016 New Product of the Year Award for their new line of customized skid steer attachments. The award was presented to Frank and Greg Otter on April 15 at WKMA’s Annual Meeting. Each year, WKMA solicits nominations from its members for the New Product of the Year Award. This award recognizes ingenuity and new product development by Western Kansas Manufacturers. Otter’s, Inc., is a family-owned operation who has built customized angle dozer blades since 1958. The company’s founder, Marion Otter, previously operated under the title of Otter Manufacturing until 1997 when he retired. At that time, he turned the company over to his sons, Frank and Greg, presently known as Otter’s Incorporated.

Otter’s, Inc., now introduces their new line of custom-width, heavy-built skid steer attachments focusing on use in land forming, construction, and cattle feedlots and pens. This new product line-up consists of small and large attachments that can be used on machinery from a small skid steer or loader to big track machines. The smaller versions utilize a 1/4 inch plate for the blade with 3 x 12 hydraulic cylinders for the angle. The larger versions utilize 3/8 inch material for the blade and 3 1/2 x 12 hydraulic cylinders for the angle. All blades have a hardened 4 inch cutting edge and skid pads, and the end of the mole board has a bolt pattern to adapt end traps. With each blade built to the customer’s specified width, this blade is very versatile and can be used for many functions, including snow removal in parking lots, landscaping, pushing dirt and material around livestock areas, trenching backfills and more.

The STOR-LOC® Modular Drawer System Originally designed in 1982, the Stor-Loc® Modular Drawer System was first manufactured in Switzerland. Husky Spring Company started in 1981 when the owner of a Cherolet dealership observed the OEM spring supply was spotty and high priced and the information about upgrade options through OEM was poor. The Husky Spring Company initial mission to provide an aftermarket option for springs and suspension parts in the NE Minnesota market. Springs for all brands and types of vehicles were offered and the Husky Spring business grew. In 1992 Husky Spring was moved to operate within a tire and service business to provide growht opportunities. The geographical target market was enlarged to include all of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. A second Husky Spring warehouse was opened in St. Cloud, MN in 2000, a third warehouse was opened in Des Moines in 2006 and a Twin Cities warehouse was opened in 2009.
