nterested in the history of Kettering? Want to learn more about its origins and how it developed? Are you curious about how people were affected by the development of Kettering? Are you keen to undertake a local history project of your own, but not sure how to go about it? Whatever your local history interests are join us for our local history sessions led by local history expert Delia Thomas. Each session will explore a different time period from Kettering’s fascinating history.

Introduction; early settlement; Roman Kettering Wednesday 13th September, 7 pm
Saxon Kettering; the Domesday Book Wednesday 11th October, 7 pm
The manorial system; Rockingham Forest Wednesday 8th November, 7 pm
Town development in the Mediaeval and Tudor periods Wednesday 13th December, 7 pm
Pre-Reformation religion Wednesday 10th January, 7 pm
Post-Reformation religion Wednesday 14th February, 7 pm
C 18th-century expansion; enclosure, early 19th century poverty Wednesday 14th March, 7 pm
C 19th-century expansion; the development of a modern town Wednesday 11th April, 7 pm
Kettering in the 20th and 21st centuries: researching local history Wednesday 9th May, 7 pm All sessions are held at the Manor House Museum and last approximately 1 ½ hours. Refreshments available from 18.45 pm. Booking essential. Book onto 3 consecutive sessions for just £12.
