Achieve Australia
Achieve Australia is proud to have received this achievement and acknowledgement at the Australian HR Awards. Following a leadership restructure, over the last 12 months it has implemented significant workplace change, with key HR achievements including a cultural reset and alignment, organisational redesign of its frontline service delivery team, and a leadership strategy to drive high performance.
The company responded rapidly to changing COVID-19 restrictions to ensure its vulnerable clients, many with profound and complex disabilities, were kept safe. Achieve Australia led the way for the sector with its COVID response, establishing new and innovative service models, detailed risk mitigation frameworks, and policies to mitigate risk and escalate should one of its staff or clients test positive for COVID. It campaigned to ensure clients and the people who support them were vaccinated as a matter of priority.
Achieve Australia’s organisational redesign focused management. They co-designed consistent leadership expectations, developing leadership and culture initiatives to enable their teams to manage uncertainty and positively impact performance. Their frontline services restructure launched a new service delivery model delivering clear and focused performance expectations and a less casualised workforce. This has driven a reduction in staff turnover, assisting with stability and better client support.
The company’s cultural reset began in 2020 and continues through 2021. It focuses on building an innovative and connected culture program to manage and develop an intentional culture. Achieve Australia utilised key culture change levers, including leadership, mindsets and behaviours, symbols, systems and structure to drive, track and monitor performance and engagement. Achieve Australia was named in the top 10 in the Government, Education and Not-for-Profit category of the 2021 Australian Financial Review BOSS Best Places to Work list for its workforce initiatives. Achieve Australia’s people, performance and culture executive, Lorraine Salloum, has been recognised by the World Employee Experience Institute as an Employee Engagement Hero.
