With customer relationships embedded in its DNA, ShieldCover continues to soar, o ering brokers and their clients out-of-the-box solutions for unconventional risks, and a dedicated team of underwriters as their advocates.
THE SHIELDCOVER team are driven by the ethos that broking partners and their clients are the key to everyone’s success. The team are committed to supporting brokers to support their clients. This promise to advocate in the best interest of clients is why ShieldCover places so much emphasis on providing fresh and innovative solutions, putting the company at the forefront of a complex industry.
ShieldCover has seen exceptional growth and earned a reputation among brokers as a trusted and reliable underwriting agency. The company’s goal is to always address brokers’ demands for personalised service and more underwriting solutions. It has become a specialist in liability and accident and sickness insurance for blue-collar workers, the hospitality industry, property owners and small retailers. Despite ShieldCover’s phenomenal development, its core purpose remains to provide uncontended support to broking partners and their clients all over Australia.
Client relationships are the heartbeat of ShieldCover, and that is why the team believe in going above and beyond ordinary customer service. They understand the struggles intermediaries experience daily, so integrating a seamless communication platform is one of the team’s top priorities. ShieldCover’s online quoting system has proven a hit with broking partners, allowing them to quote, bind cover, and make changes all within a single channel. Brokers and their clients are the company’s top priority and can rest assured that they are in experienced hands.
ShieldCover has an impressive, tight-knit group of expert underwriters willing to go the extra mile. Their experience in the industry is an invaluable asset to the company. In a red ocean, it’s important to be creative. ShieldCover believes in constant development and is always looking for ways to improve, adapt and interact with its broking partners. It’s no wonder ShieldCover is the go-to brand for brokers and their clients.
GREG RYNENBERG, CHIEF EXECUTIVE
GREG RYNENBERG is CEO and founder of ShieldCover. He embarked on a career in insurance some 40 years ago, and the experience he gained has led to the establishment of ShieldCover in 2006 and its development into the business it is today.
Being a seasoned broker himself, Rynenberg had a vision that he could build an underwriting agency that truly understood the relationship between brokers and their clients. This would be supported by a business model that would enhance that relationship. The ShieldCover mantra, “supporting you, to support them”, is built upon that goal and intention.
ShieldCover’s approach to this was tactical: to inform its broking partners about its clear and concise target market. With blue collar, hospitality, property owners and small retailers as the four core pillars of the ShieldCover appetite, the company has set a defi ned message without limiting the brand’s opportunities to tackle new risks.
Rynenberg believes you can only go so far sitting behind a computer algorithm that does not allow underwriters to fully understand the di culties intermediaries face on a day-to-day basis. Instead, human conversations help them serve clients better.
“We have created a team of dedicated underwriters who take immense pride in providing you with personalised service, from quoting and binding to making a claim,” says Rynenberg. “Our goal over the next fi ve years is to continue to focus on being a market leader in our target industries, and to go further in our already-deep relationships with our intermediary network, all while providing responsive, client-focused insurance.”
