We proudly congratulate Lutricia (Pat) Edwards and Rev. David L. Solomon, this year’s Wyandanch Plaza Association’s honorees.

WELCOME Thank you for supporting the efforts of the Wyandanch Plaza Association and understanding what it means to invest in people and a community on “the Rise.” A thriving creative sector is a powerful economic development asset which can be parlayed into other cultural and civic benefits. Exposing Long Island residents to beautiful, culturally significant arts programming and entertainment strengthens understanding, appreciation, and goodwill between people of different backgrounds. A significant number of people who travel through Wyandanch or who have heard of its ongoing community leader-led transformation are being exposed to all that Greater Wyandanch, Wyandanch Village, and Delano Stewart Plaza have to offer. The Wyandanch Plaza Association, Inc. was formed as a charitable corporation in 2016 under New York’s not-for-profit corporation law for the purpose of assisting revitalization efforts being conducted by both private and public organizations within the hamlet of Wyandanch, NY. WPA offers programs and events in conjunction with local partners, including arts & culture organizations and others, to encourage Long Island residents to visit Wyandanch Plaza for the purpose of catalyzing social and economic development through culture and the arts. WPA’s programs and events enhance the quality of life for residents and help support a strong positive community identity, a sense of place and of pride. WPA’s offerings supplement services provided by the Town of Babylon and Suffolk County. Thank you for your continued support on this journey,

Marie E. Saint-Cyr

Marie E. Saint-Cyr is an abstract painter whose area of budding expertise is experimenting with colors and focusing on how the subconscious impacts the process of creating art. Marie is keen on color relationships in her artwork and uses small brushstrokes and shapes to create a variety of shapes produced by her subconscious. The colors she uses are often vibrant and highly saturated. Experimentation in art and the process of creating her artwork pieces are two important aspects for Marie when it comes to producing art. Marie migrated to the United States from Haiti at the age of eight years old. She is in the last semester of her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the Fashion Institute of Technology and has had the opportunity to study at Lorenzo de’ Medici in Florence, Italy. She has also traveled extensively throughout Europe studying and observing art internationally. The business side of art is another great interest of Marie. This has encouraged her to seek out opportunities in the art management field, to gain more knowledge on the industry. As a result, Marie has been tasked with coordinating art projects such as: public art projects, art exhibitions and coordinating a gala fundraiser for an art non-profit. In addition to being an artist, Marie currently is a business developer at Artveer, an art marketing business.
