Mario Lopez Su carrera profesional se inició en 1985 cuando apareció como el hermano menor en la serie de comedia de ABC "Pablo". En el mismo año interpretó a un baterista y bailarín en "Kids Incorporated". En la vida real Mario es un baterista destacado y ha sido visto en muchas de sus actuaciones interpretando ese instrumento. En 1989 Mario López fue elegido para interpretar a A.C. Slater en la serie de televisión "Salvados por la campana", papel que interpretó durante 5 años. Su papel requería que fuera en extremo masculino, bailarín y atlético, ya que sería la base de un personaje rompe corazones. López mantiene una constante amistad con su co-estrella Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zack Morris en Salvados por la campana).
En 1991, López estuvo en American Gladiators, donde sobrevivió a tres competencias, ganando $20,000. Mario Manjarrez who performed at TVC's last promo expo showed us a different blend of his rhythms. This month we had a chance to sit down and talk with him about his creative process and his New Album 'Lyricly Boy' featuring Ricky!
D.J. MARIO “I could be watching a movie, and there might be a line said that may describe how I’m feeling in the moment, and I'm like Awesome! I gotta write it. So I open my laptop, get on my “pro-tools” and go from there.” As a singer-songwriter and solo artist, Mario acknowledges that the relationship he has with his manager has played a critical role in his incredible success. “It’s such a blessing to have someone who really, really knows you and understands you," explains Mario.
One might assume that Mario’s High success might have changed his life, but Mario feels he is the same. “I’ve collaborated with many artists, few feel like money, drugs, and females is what it’s all about. I personally enjoy music that comes from the heart, not a song written to a girl naming her a dog.” He elaborates on this by inviting us to listen to his music, adding “Stay tune for my upcoming album “Lyricly boy" featuring Ricky and Sauce The Boss.”

MUSIC CANCIONES NOMINADAS A LOS OSCAR 2013 La categoría de mejor canción original, desde luego, no es la que más llama la atención cuando cada año se conocen las nominaciones a los premios de la Academia de cine de los Estados Unidos. Pero si repasamos la nómina de artistas que han conseguido la estatuilla dorada desde 1934, cuando se entregó por primera vez, encontramos a crooners de la talla de Nat
King Cole, Frank Sinatra o Bing Crosby. Más recientemente, el premio ha llegado a las manos de músicos con estilos bien distintos: Eminem, Céline Dion, Madonna o Elton

I used to read Seventeen magazine back then, too. I remember finding this lip gloss tutorial among the pages and becoming completely obsessed with it. You will need: - Vaseline - Powdered eye shadow or blush - Small empty container - Small mixing utensil 1. Fill your container with Vaseline (petroleum jelly). 2. Sprinkle your favourite eyeshadow or blush on top. I used Everyday Minerals blush in DVR Saturday. 3. Mix it all together well. Clean up the edges. 4. Apply!

Our first stop was “Velada Muy Especial” hosted by Lynwood City Treasurer Edwin Hernandez and Mario Cardenas of Plaza Mexico with special guests: Lynwood City Mayor Sal Alatorre, DJ El Raton from 97.9 La Raza, and singer Victoria Ortiz “La Mala” who participated in serving dinner and handing out gifts to local families. Next, in what we plan to be a trend for 2013 and beyond, you found us at our first Promo Expo which took place on January 6th at La Huasteca Banquet Hall in Plaza Mexico. We had a huge turnout where families enjoyed a funfilled day of food, music, gifts and significant SAVINGS! Promo Expo “Los Reyes del Ahorro” was indeed a complete success. With the likes of DJ Mario playing his contagious Latin rhythms and up-and-coming singer Sasha Caceres treating us to her melodic renditions of Selena and Alicia Keys, while savoring the delicious offerings of La Huasteca Restaurant, we all left the event feeling joyous, pampered, and ready to take on the New Year! arship, we attended the Alumni College Fair at Firebaugh High School where students and their parents were offered free workshops on topics concerning college requirements and financial aid. Fight-on Falcons! Later in the month, we enjoyed food, music, and dance performances at “La Fiesta de San Sebastián de Apóstol” in Los Angeles. On the menu were traditional tacos, “atole”(cornflower drink) , “pan de fiesta” (sweet bread), and a copy of TVC Magazine. No one left the festival without their copy. Cheers L.A.! Finally, to nurture our cultural awareness and to promote the arts, we attended “Fragua Dimensional Latinoamericana” in Los Angeles, an art event hosted by a group called “Mujer de barro, Mujeres de hierro” headed by Maricruz Sibaja, a talented local Mexican artist dedicated to promoting the arts in one of our most underrepresented groups—middle-aged Hispanic women. Hearing their individual stories and learning about their art was truly inspirational. ¡Viva ”Mujer de barro, Mujeres de hierro”! Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar Diggs (James Franco) must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. The teaser trailer for Evil Dead and Spider-Man trilogy director Sam Raimi’s Oz the Great and Powerful (which Disney premiered at this year’s Comic-Con) overflows with vibrant colors, zany creatures, and picturesque 3D trickery, but it does little to counter a longtime assertion – namely, that the Mouse House’s semi-prequel to The Wizard of Oz is an attempt to replicate the success of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland by giving the same cinematic treatment to L. Frank Baum’s Oz literature (right down to the March release date). A full-length trailer for Raimi’s Oz the Great and Powerful is now online, offering a better look at the film’s unique rendition of that land
‘somewhere over the rainbow’ (as envisioned by Alice production designer Robert Stromberg) and the human cast which includes James Franco – playing the young ‘wizard’ Oscar Diggs – as well as Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams as the three witches wrestling to control the fate of Oz (Theodora, Evanora and Glinda, respectively). However, if the original Oz trailer left you with feelings of déjà vu dread, this new promo isn’t going to change your mind. The script from Mitchell Kapner (The Whole Nine Yards) and David Lindsay-
Abaire (Rise of the Guardians) now appears to lift elements directly from Alice in Wonderland’s playbook, right down to making its protagonist the ‘chosen one’ whose arrival has been prophesied to bring peace to the film’s fantastical setting. Moreover, the CGI characters which are shown here – timid flying monkey Finley (Zach Braff) and fragile China Girl (Joey King, The Dark Knight Rises) – also resemble the celebrity-voiced/digitally-rendered inhabitants of Burton’s Wonderland, in the sense that their personalities and vocals (so far) seem somewhat hit-or-miss.

Brin, 39, who ranks No. 20 on Forbes’ annual list of most powerful people, may have blended in on the downtownbound No. 3 train in his jeans and pullover were it not for his futuristic, high-tech glasses. A tech buff said he spotted Brin, who now heads up special projects for Google, riding the subway wearing a prototype of the much-buzzed about glasses from Google's Project Glass, which are promised to overlay digital information on the physical world. A new asteroid-mining company launched Tuesday with the goal of helping humanity expand across the solar system by tapping the vast riches of space rocks. The new firm, called Deep Space Industries, Inc., announced today (Jan. 22) that it plans to launch a fleet of prospecting spacecraft in 2015, then begin harvesting metals and water from near-Earth asteroids within a decade or so. Such work could make it possible to build and refuel spacecraft far above our planet's surface, thus helping our species get a foothold in the final frontier. "Using resources harvested in space is the only way to afford permanent space development," Deep Space CEO David Gump said in a statement. "More than 900 new asteroids that pass near Earth are discovered every year," Gump explained. "They can be like what the Iron Range of Minnesota was for the Detroit car industry last century — a key resource located near where it was needed.

To get a better perspective on this, have your partner stand on a chair and yell at you so you can experience what it feels like for your child. When Dr. Larsen’s husband, Greg, (who is over six feet tall) stood on a chair at a louder than normal volume, it terrified her. Dr. Larsen says that as a parent she wants to stay connected to her child. If she yells frequently, she will raise children that are anxious or soon learn to tune out what she says.

Dr. Sarah Larsen, a mentor of mine, says that yelling at your child may be an effective way for you to vent your frustration, but most children see their parents as giants. Instead, Dr. Larsen says that when she feels she might begin yelling, she takes a time out in the bathroom to wash her hands or her face. She then comes back and tries to connect with her child and feels what they are experiencing. She shares with them what she needs to in order to stay connected to them in a loving way. Dr. Stephen Covey, author of The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, explains the dangers of parents losing their temper: “They become upset, guided by the emotions of the moment, spontaneously reacting to the immediate concern rather than the long-term growth and development of the child. They may yell or scream. They may overreact and punish out of bad temper. They tend to love their children conditionally, making them emotionally dependent or counterdependent and rebellious.” Remember, everything you do to your child today, will affect them in one way or another in the future. Dr. Larsen says that some other ways in which we disconnect from our children is demanding immediate compliance, nagging, lecturing, advising, shaming, belittling, imposing excessive guilt, physical punishment and coercion. She says that ending all forms of violence against

It is up to us to teach them how to appropriately communicate with us how they are feeling. Teach them, in a loving way, to use their words “I am upset” or “I am hurt”. The more you teach them as kids how to appropriately communicate their feelings, the more they will know how to appropriately communicate their feelings as adults. It is no coincidence that the parents that I admire the most are extremely loving parents who never yell, punish or hit their children. In turn, the children are extremely confident, happy, independent, well-behaved and extremely loving children. Dr. Sarah Larsen’s children, for example, are beyond extraordinary and have the sweetest souls. This goes to
why our teens do not talk to us, but how did we treat them as kids? Did they feel 100% safe with us? Or did we criticize and shame them? Let us be that loving force that guides our kids. As Dr. Covey says, “Be a light, not a judge. Be a model, not a critic. Be part of the solution, not part of the problem…Rebellion is a knot of the heart, not of the mind.” The best thing you can do for your kids is to work on yourself. Many parents carry a lot of personal anger and they take it out on their children. They claim that they hit their kids to teach them how to behave, when in reality it is simply to let out their frustration. If you find yourself screaming often or getting enraged by your children’s behavior ask yourself this question “is this truly about my kid, or could it be about something else?” Most people lead very stressful lives, but it’s time we stop punishing our children for it. Read books on personal development, attend a Spiritual seminar, get a massage, retreat into nature, get help. Our children need us to be stable, happy and healthy adults. news+ RICHARD BLANCO: LATINO MAKES HISTORY WITH INAUGURAL POEM At 44-years-old, Latino poet Richard Blanco made history at President Barack Obama’s second inauguration ceremony as the youngest, first Hispanic and first openly gay inaugural poet. Blanco addressed the president, Vice President Joe Biden and America with his inaugural poem “One Today.” His poem spoke to the mundane life and experiences Americans share, from the classroom where teachers write up equations on chalkboards to the grief the nation felt when 20 children’s lives were taken in the Sandy Hook massacre, “20 children are marked absent today,” he said. Blanco related to hard-working Americans like his mother who for 20 years worked the grocery store check out line. “My face, your face, millions of faces in mornings mirror,” a line from Blanco’s poem that addresses Americans plight as “one.” Richard Blanco was born in Spain to Cuban exiles. He emigrated to the United States as an infant with his family and settled in Miami, where he studied engineering at Florida International University. After working as a civil engineer, he returned to the university to study creative writing, pursuing an MFA in 1991.

IMMIGRATION REFORM 101: HOW WOULD SENATE PLAN ACTUALLY WORK? Last month a bipartisan group of eight senators unveiled a proposed overhaul of the US immigration system. The plan includes both increased border enforcement and an eventual path to citizenship for many of the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants already in the country. Yet some important details of the effort remain undefined. According to what we know now, how would the immigration overhaul work?

We’ll give you a strippeddown, “Immigration 101” version of the plan so you can follow debate on the issue in days and weeks ahead. First, the senatorial plan calls for devoting increased resources to what it calls “the basic governmental function of securing our borders." Specifically, it calls for increasing the use of drones and other electronic surveillance equipment, improving radio interoperability, and in general upping the number of agents at and between US border crossings. “The purpose is to substantially lower the number of successful illegal border crossings

while continuing to facilitate commerce," says the proposal. Second, the plan calls for completion of a system capable of tracking whether people who enter the US via temporary visas have left the country when their visa has expired.
