The magnetic and talented Gina Rodriguez is finally getting the recognition she deserves.
“L.A.’S FILLY" GINA RODRIGUEZ - BY BRYAN BARBOSA With her breakout performance in “Filly Brown”—a feature film that is out in theaters this month— Gina Rodriguez is finally getting the recognition she deserves. With her compelling portrayal of Majo Tonorio--a would-be rap star growing up in L.A.'s Latino community, she’s now being compared to the likes of Michelle Rodriguez (“The Fast and the Furious”, “Resident Evil”, “Avatar”) with whom she shares no kinship, other than belonging to that unofficial, undeclared, and not yet established “Sisterhood of Great Latina Actresses”. After graciously accepting our exclusive TVC Magazine interview, her publicist informed me that it would have to be a telephone interview. Admittedly, I was a little disappointed at the thought of interviewing her over the phone, and not in person. When I first got word that we’d be granted the interview, there were visions of Gina and me in a framed picture adorning my office, but now that wouldn’t happen. You see, Gina’s schedule has changed as of late. It’s suddenly teeming with appointments, interviews, and engagements. I was given a mere fifteen minute window to peer into the latest chapter in her life. I was nervous… but more because of my difficulty following lists of prefabbed questions than anything else. But I was in luck! As soon as Gina came on the line and said “Hello”, ZAP!! I was infused with a sudden surge of energy and enthusiasm transmitted through her voice. Good for me it was a phone interview, lest I freeze like a hyperactive kid on Ritalin. The list was thrown aside. And somehow, I managed to put together a couple of fumbling sentences with inflections at the end
to resemble questions. It worked! I was off the hook. Obviously reveling in her newfound fame as the lead in the feature film “Filly Brown”, she makes no excuses about the excitement she feels with her latest accomplishments and how appreciative she is of the people that have helped her along the way. She is eager to give back; eager to motivate, not just Latinos, nor women, nor young people, but anyone with a passion and a dream. As she puts it, “I am living my dream. This is what I have been working for. My dreams just get bigger and bigger… I want to be an inspiration for others to reflect on their own life.” The whole project is a true tour de force. Just as Rodriguez’ character is looking to make it as a performer, so is Rodriguez herself, and so is the entire production of “Filly Brown”. It started as independent film that has gained momentum and support from the community it represents—first to third generation Latinos in America, and also, all ethnicities that can identify with the pursuit of the American dream, sometimes against all odds. But Gina takes it a step further. Not only do you get a person cognizant of her own role in life, but someone who truly wants to contribute back to society. “I have always enjoyed performing since a very young age. I felt a sense of strength in expressing myself outside of everyday life. I find myself at one with my God when I am performing. I have a platform as an actress that can speak to younger demographics and generations that don’t have as many role models in their community.” And, in a nutshell, that's the beauty of "L.A.'s Filly"-Gina Rodriguez.

PAUL TIRADO I wanted to be an actor, practically since I was born. I grew up watching movies directed by great directors such as Martin Scorsese, and Steven Spielberg. I’d always find myself motivated by actors like Jack Nicholson or Johnny Depp. It wasn’t long before I decided to get more serious about my acting career; you can only do so much in a backyard theater. So I packed my suitcases, and went to Los Angeles. In 2010, I got the chance to work on Hello Herman. The experience was very valuable to me. I learned from the other actors on the project, such as Norman Reedus and Rob Estes.

In the past three years, I have worked on eight feature films, making this the busiest time in my acting career. Some of the films I have worked on are: Thursday’s Speaker, The Jet Movie, 8 Reels Of Sewage and Slink. I also worked in short films like XR-91, and the web series Not by Choice, which is having great success. Currently, I’m busy with several new projects. Part of the acting career is not just on screen. I have also been invited to several red carpets, like Comic-Con and the Emmys. I really enjoy working in the entertainment industry as I have always loved to entertain people. I just can’t wait to see what else is waiting for me around the corner.
ALEC JACOB KING, the oldest of five, is the odd one out. He has two sets of twins for siblings. They are all originally from Colorado, but have moved to LA to follow their dreams. He and his next youngest sister, Becca, have formed a group called, This Boy, That Girl. They love to hang out and write music. Alec has been inspired by Drake, Lil Wayne, and Eminem. He feels like the recording studio is his second home, but wouldn’t have it any other way. BECCA KING is a musician in the same group as her older brother, Alec. She says she writes songs about experiences she has had. Her hard work has paid off, she has recently signed a publishing deal with Warner Chappell. Unlike
Alec, she has begun to branch out into acting as well as music. She is currently working on a movie called "Puzzled". In addition to singing, she has a passion for dancing, and would give anything to perform and share her dance and her music. Matt Ryan King is the third of the King kids. He is a musician and actor as well. Matt has been on several Disney shows and is also in the movie "Puzzled". Matt performs his music solo, but enjoys singing with his siblings. In addition to singing and acting, Matt has tried his hand as a stand- up comic. All three King kids are thankful for their parents' support. Without a supportive family, they know they would not be where they are now.

Elizabeth Small has developed her skill as an actress and is ready for greatness. As the youngest of four girls, she had a built-in audience at home to practice. She is a singer, dancer, and actress. Some of her credits include "Stolen", "The Santa Clause 3", and "We the Party". She not only takes her performing seriously, but she is a straight ‘A’ student as well. She is a dedicated hardworking teen, who believes that if you work hard enough at your goals, you will accomplish them.
TAI URBAN (SAG/AFTRA) is an athlete, actor, and professional celebrity photographer. After winning the gold and bronze medals in the Taekwondo Junior Olympics, he focused on acting. With over 42 imdb credits Tai has recently finished playing the lead in "Be With Me" and "Sins of the Father." He is a host for "Talent Watch", which shows interviews with celebrities and rising stars. He also finished filming a Chase commercial. He is currently working on a couple of other short films that will be announced in the coming months. He has also been nominated as the lead actor for awards ceremonies such as the "Young Actors Awards" and "G.O.D. Awards". As a celebrity photographer, he has been requested for many red carpet events. Some of these events include gifting suites, album release parties, NAACP Image Awards, and many charity events where images can be seen on press websites. PINK WITH GLITTER REVERSE FRENCH NAILS OF THE DAY. 1. Place a french manicure guide sticker upside bown onto your nails exposing the bottom 1/4 th of your nail. 2. Apply 2-3 coats of glitter polish to the bottom section of your nail. 3. Once it has completely dried, apply the sticker on top of the glitter. 4. Press down lightly on the edges of the sticker so it adheres to the nail. 5. Apply 2 coats of polish to your nails. 6. Remove stickers. I cut off a small piece as shown in the picture... it just fell better on my arm. Also cut your shirt up the side to open it up.

ENSALADA FRESCA DE LECHUGA CON GUACAMOLE INGREDIENTES: • 1 lechuga romana. • 2 zanahorias. • 3 gitomates. • 5 aguacates hass. • 1 limón • 1 cucharada de sal. • 1 cucharada de pimienta • 1 pimiento verde. • Queso manchego cantidad al gusto. • Jamón (de pavo de preferencia) cantidad al gusto.
PREPARACIÓN: • Corte la lechuga romana en tiras; estas serviran de base para el platillo. • Raye las zanahorias y el queso mancheco de tal manera que queden en forma de tiras. • Corte el jamón en pequeñas secciones. • Corte el gitomate y el pimiento verde en rodajas delgadas. • Agregue todos los ingredientes cortados y rayados uno sobre otro. • Preparación del guacamole: Agregue el aguacate en un bowl, luego aplastelos hasta conseguir la forma de una masa, por último corte y agregue el jugo de limón, y las cucharadas de sal y pimienta.

CBS HAS RENEWED "TWO AND A HALF MEN" FOR AN ELEVENTH SEASON, BUT THERE WILL BE SOME CHANGES. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network and Warner Bros. Television are currently working on a deal for Jones to recur in Season 11. Jones' character Jake has had a military storyline in Season 10, which limited the number of episodes he appeared in, but only slightly.
The Chuck Lorre-helmed hit sitcom has had its fair share of controversy -- first with original co-star Charlie Sheen's very public meltdown and subsequent firing, and then with Jones' rant -- but the ratings have remained consistently strong no matter where CBS schedules the show.
After Kutcher replaced Sheen in the ninth season -- a choice that was validated with continued strong ratings -- CBS closed another one-year deal with the three leading men in 2012 for Season 10, which saw the Monday night show move to a new night on Thursdays
for the first time ever. This past season also garnered Cryer his first Emmy win for the show in the Lead Actor in a Comedy Series category. (His only previous Emmy win was in the Supporting Actor category when Sheen was still his co-star.)

It can also be extremely challenging, confusing and gut-wrenching. This is especially true when children are involved. However, we are adults, and as adults we make choices. We must face our choices and live with the consequences. When it comes to divorce, our children are not the ones making the choices, and yet, must live with the cost, which more-times-than-not affects them for the rest of their life. Throughout the years, I have asked several divorcees, psychotherapists, child-experts and lawyers what is the best advice for couples with kids who are getting a divorce and here are the top three:
of them is bad and rotten. Besides, they love their parent and the last thing they want to hear you saying are really nasty things about someone they love. Stop using your kids as tools to get back at your ex. Your kids have feelings and these types of actions affect them for the rest of their life. If your ex is a good parent, then be happy about that and let him/her be a good parent. Being a good parent has nothing to do with being a good partner. Perhaps s/he was awful to you, but that has nothing to do with your child. Treat the relationship between your child and your ex as sacred.

Don’t bad mouth your exspouse to your kids You are hurt. You are angry. And you might even feel justified for feeling this way. For example, “she cheated on me” or “he took all my money” or “he was abusive." Understood. My suggestion is definitely to go and process this with a life-coach, spiritual advisor or to whomever you are drawn. But no matter how “horrible” you believe your ex is, never, ever, ever tell your kids how awful their parent is. Think about it: your children are half you and half your ex. On a psychological level, your kids will grow up believing that half
Make the transition as easy as possible for your kids A teacher of mine once pointed out that prior to divorce kids say, “this is my house." After divorce, kids say either “I am going to mom’s house” or “I am going to dad’s house." Suddenly, they no longer have a house of their own. The most ideal situation I have ever seen was that the kids never moved out of their home; mom and dad would move in and out when it was their turn. Naturally, most are unable to carry out this type of arrangement. The best family law attorney I know is

Biologists are looking for answers to explain why a huge number of baby sea lions are turning up starving and near death on Southern California's coastlines. The number of sick and dying sea lions admitted to rescue centers has topped 1,400 so far this year, said Sarah Wilkin, the marine mammal stranding coordinator for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. That number is five times the normal amount of sick baby sea lions for this time of year. Sea lions live on a diet of small fish like anchovies and sardines. Marine biologists are trying to understand what's happening inside the ocean to drive the sea lion pups onto the shore. Dave Koontz, SeaWorld’s director of communications, said that baby sea lions come inland in search of food when they can't find enough to eat in the ocean. There might be depleted levels of the type of fish that sea lions eat, or changing water temperatures or currants could be driving the small fish away into different areas. There may also be a disease that has wiped out the bait fish population.

In subsequent years, a High Skilled Jobs Demand Index will calculate the number of H-1B visas available, not to exceed 180,000, and which cannot increase or decrease by more than 10,000 per year.
