On the outskirts of Engelberg, you can easily reach Fürenalp by cable car. Otherwise, the adventurous can climb up to the alp via the Fürenwand via ferrata. The mountain restaurant Fürenalp with its terrace offers a breathtaking view of the Engelberg mountain world.
Starting from here, you can embark on your hiking adventures, such as the crossing of the Surenen Pass or the famous Stäuber panoramic trail.

The starting point is the mountain station of the Fürenalpbahn. The hike leads over the 2.291-metre-high Surenen Pass into the main valley of the canton of Uri. The panoramic circular hiking trail “Brunnipfad” is a nature trail which leads over blooming alpine meadows and offers a unique view of the Titlis and the surrounding mountain peaks. Due to its different hiking variants, it is considered a family hiking trip.

A wonderful high-altitude hike from the Brunni area to the Bannalp area. The scenery: the mountain world with the Walenstöcke and a panoramic view as far as the Mittelland. Initially across meadows, the trail becomes more and more alpine and leads past the idyllic Bannalpsee. The return journey to Engelberg is by train from Wolfenschiessen.

RISTIS – GLOBI’S ALPINE PLAYGROUND
At Globi’s Alpine Playground, children can look forward to an area of 3,000 square metres of a small rope park with various climbing elements, a marmot slide, an alpine hut and many other adventures!
Globi’s White Water World is also part of the Alpine Playground and offers additional fun.

There are three barbecue areas in the playground, each with ten seats available. Sufficient wood is also provided.

Curving experiences for young and old are available on the 660-metrelong summer toboggan run right next to the Berglodge Restaurant Ristis and around Globi’s Alpine Playground.

The idyllic Härzli Lake in the Brunni area is a paradise for families and children. The small mountain lake is located at an altitude of 1,861 metres above sea level. The lake got its name from its shape, which is reminiscent of a heart. At the lake, you can enjoy the magnificent panorama of the mountains of Central Switzerland.

Walking barefoot not only stimulates the senses, but it is also good for your health.
The barefoot hiking trail leads from the Hüttismatt up to the Brunnihütte on an existing hiking trail.

KITZELPFAD
A special thrill awaits you on the Tickle Trail at Lake Härzli. The 220-metre-long barefoot Tickle Trail around the lake (1,860 m) is a unique mountain experience that offers lots of fun for young and old. Several barbecue areas are available here, as well as a restaurant.
Good to know:
The Tickle Trail is open from June to October (depending on snow conditions). This can be reached on foot or by chairlift.

Lake Trübsee is located at 1,764 metres above sea level on a high plateau above the Engelberg Valley between Engelberg and the Titlis or Joch Pass. The small mountain lake is a popular destination for hikers and families. It is reachable from Engelberg by cable car in about ten minutes. Kayaks and rowing boats are also available on the lake. During the warm months, swimming is also possible here.

The Four Lakes Hike is one of the most beautiful and well-known hikes in Engelberg. The walk not only connects four mountain lakes, but it also combines our two Kempinski destinations, Kempinski Palace Engelberg and Frutt Mountain Resort. ARRIVAL AND RETURN FROM MELCHSEE-FRUTT
Arrange a private limousine with the concierge team to take you from the Stöckalp valley station back to Engelberg.
Returning to Stöckalp, you can either take the gondola or ride your bike to the valley station. In summer, there is the possibility of driving cars on the mountain road between Melchsee-Frutt and Stöckalp at fixed times.
Alternatively, you can also take the bus and train back. Travel by gondola to the Stöckalp valley station. From here, a bus will take you to Sarnen or Kerns. From there, you can take the train back to Engelberg.

Visit the famous Titlis in Central Switzerland: At 3,020 metres above sea level, you will have a fantastic 360° panoramic view of breathtaking Alpine peaks and the surrounding glaciers. The Titlis offers year-round snow fun and numerous attractions.

Take the Titlis Express to Stand. From here, the “Rotair” gondola will take you from Stand to Titlis. The TITLIS Rotair is the world’s first rotating aerial tramway.
Awaiting you on the Titlis is the TITLIS Cliff Walk – Europe’s highest suspension bridge, the Ice Flyer chairlift; and the TITLIS Glacier Park.
Afterwards, you can enjoy the magnificent view in the Panorama Restaurant Titlis.

TITLIS CLIFF WALK
3,041 metres of altitude. A 500-metre precipice. 150 steps of heartpounding. That’s something visitors can expect on the TITLIS Cliff Walk, the spectacular suspension bridge high up on the summit. Crossing it requires nerves as strong as the wire ropes on which the bridge hangs.
Once at the summit, you pass through the glacial grotto via an underground tunnel to the viewing platform at the south-face window. The suspension bridge spans all the way from this point to the top station of the Ice Flyer glacier chairlift. The TITLIS Cliff Walk is only 1 metre wide and over 100 metres long. The view into the depths is definitely breathtaking.
As Europe’s highest suspension bridge, the TITLIS Cliff Walk even sets a record.
TIP 1: ROBINSON PLAYGROUND GROTZENWÄLDI
A short walk from the Brunni valley station leads you to the Robinson playground in the Engelberg district of Horbis. With its many activities around the small lake, it leaves hardly anything to be desired. The little ones become pirates and explorers on the island. You will find a slide, bridges and rafts. For refreshment before the next lake battle, several barbecue areas are available. Grill wood can be used for a fee.

TIP 3: SPORTING PARK
The Engelberg Sports Park offers a wide range of sports activities, whether for families or for the individual athlete, and there are facilities for everyone to enjoy all that the park has to offer. Curling, ice skating, ice hockey matches and fun courses are among the most popular group activities.
For tennis lovers, there are two indoor courts and, in summer, four outdoor courts with magnificent views of the Engelberg mountains. Indoor ice skating or on the natural ice rink in winter guarantees a lot of fun. For the upcoming climbing season, you can start your first climbing attempts at the 12-metre-high climbing wall or directly at the rock.

On this hike, you will experience a mixture of nostalgia, adventure, beautiful hiking trails and breathtaking views. The Buiräbähnli were cable cars for mountain farmers and were used to transport goods.
The complete multi-day hike takes 12.5 hours of pure running time and takes place off the beaten track. However, you can also enjoy parts of the Buiräbähnli Safari with your family.

The High Ropes Park in Engelberg offers unforgettable experiences and adventures for children and adults. It features six courses with different levels of difficulty on which you can push yourself to your limits. You will cross challenging balance bridges and suspension bridges and encounter action-packed Tyrolean slides.

Discover the beautiful Engelberg mountains by bike: The mountainbike school in Engelberg offers private and group courses for families and children to learn the new MTB techniques. The local bike guides teach different technical skills in a practical way, depending on the riding ability, the bike and the terrain conditions.

The World’s End Run is recommended for joggers who like to have an uphill on their route. The Valley Run is dedicated to advanced joggers. Starting directly in front of the hotel, head in the direction of Aa. From there, follow the signs to Vitaparcour, past the Hotel Bänklialp. Once back at the river, keep following it until you reach the valley station of the Fürenalp. You can either follow the river Aa or the road that passes the monastery.

At the Engelberg-Titlis Golf Club, the unique mountain panorama complements the golfing challenges to create a unique combination of sport and nature. The 18-hole golf course with well-placed streams, lakes and bunkers is suitable for golfers of all levels. Nevertheless, even for experienced players, neither the sport nor the game strategy is neglected.

Starting 15 April until 31 October, fishing with a patent is allowed in Lake Eugene, which is home to brown and rainbow trout. The closed season is only at night from 22:00 to 5:00.
New fish are released regularly (on different days of the week and as needed). During these days, fishing is not allowed after stocking. For more detailed information as well as scheduled dates, please contact our concierge team.

Six rental rowing boats are available at Lake Trübsee. Each boat can accommodate four people. Life jackets are available for all.
The boats are free to use. However, a contribution of CHF 10 per hour ensures their maintenance. The money can simply be deposited in the cash box at the jetty.

STANS
The village of Stans is the main village of the canton of Nidwalden and is situated between the mountains Stanserhorn and Buochserhorn and the western foothills of the Bürgenstock. The main sights are the 1,898-metrehigh Stanserhorn, reachable by the Stanserhorn railroad, the village square and the 17th-century Church of St. Peter and Paul of the monastery of St. Clare.
