The longest slope in the TITLIS ski area stretches over 12 kilometres and 2,000 metres in altitude. With 82 kilometres of pistes, the Engelberg-TITLIS ski area offers plenty of variety. Most of the pistes have guaranteed snow from December to April. At the top of the glacier, skiing is even possible from October to May. On the lower slopes around the Trübsee, Gerschnialp and Untertrübsee, easier runs tempt you.

A ride on the TITLIS Rotair – the world's first rotating aerial cable car –is included in the ski ticket. A free public ski bus takes you from the train station directly to the Titlis cable car.

BEGINNER AREAS: TITLIS

Untertrübsee ski lift - the ideal family winter fun

The ski lift right next to the Untertrübsee Restaurant offers you, your family and friends lots of fun. The funicular takes you from the Engelberg Valley station up to the Gerschni. Directly at the exit of the Gerschni mountain station, walk 20 metres to the right. From here, you ski directly to the Untertrübsee ski lift (please follow the signs). Daily from 9:00 to 16:00.

Gerschnialp

It's a little paradise at the foot of the Titlis: the Gerschnialp. The traditional funicular takes you to the small plateau at 1,300 metres above Engelberg. The conditions here are almost perfect for skiing beginners. The three ski lifts with easy slopes offer ideal conditions for families and beginners.

The Brunni is a hiking and skiing area above Engelberg that offers countless leisure activities in summer and winter, especially for families. It is situated on a sunny south-facing slope and offers a wonderful panoramic view.

BRUNNI-BAHNEN

The cable car, the three-seater chairlift and the Schonegg ski lift take you up to 2,040 metres above sea level. This side of the mountain is wonderfully suitable for families and children.

Highlights of the Brunni lifts: Yeti Park

Yeti Park is a children's adventure park located directly behind the Ristis mountain restaurant at the top station of the cable car. Two conveyor belts and a pony lift ensure easy and comfortable transport up the mountain. Yeti Park is 6,000 sq m in size and can be used independently.

Night skiing – Klostermatte

Every Friday from 18:00 to 21:00, you can also ski in the dark. Night skiing is free for season and annual pass holders. Day and multi-day passes are not valid. The family restaurant OX is open.

Klostermatte / Globis Winterland

Visit Globis Winterland and experience a unique winter landscape for children. The area is the ideal training ground for skiing, snowboarding or sledging. It is a flat skiing area, perfect for the first hours on skis or a snowboard.

Urne Haute Route - A breath of adventure wafts through the grandiose stages from hut to hut. Summit tours from Gemsstock to Lochberg, Sustenhorn (3,503 m), Uratstock and Grassen (2,946 m), followed by a dream descent to Engelberg. The impressive route through the Central Swiss Alps used to be one of the great Alpine crossings. It offers around 5,500 metres of ascent and descent and can be climbed in four to five days. Length: 45.2 km | Duration: 13:00 h | Metres in altitude: 5,273 m

Ruchstock – The Ruchstock is one of the most important ski mountains in the region. The massive, rocky summit structure is broken up by steep snow hollows that make the ascent to the promising summit plateau easier. The traverse of the mountain and the magnificent views are particularly impressive. Length: 9.6 km | Duration: 3:00 h | Metres in altitude: 1,289 m

Salistock – A little-used beginner's ski tour in Canton Nidwalden in the middle of the Central Swiss Alps. The Salistock (1,896 m) offers a beautiful view of Engelberg and the Engelberg Valley all the way to Lake Lucerne. On the beautiful slopes of the Lutersee, you will often find sensational powder snow. Length: 7.3 km | Duration: 2:00 h | Metres in altitude: 621 m

Titlis round tour – The alpine classic and probably one of the most attractive alpine "ski tours" in Engelberg. It offers long descents, short climbing passages, abseiling, an entertaining ascent and the final northfacing descent from Grassenbiwak to Engelberg. Brisen – The Brisen tour is considered one of the most popular touring destinations in the region with its magnificent panoramic views and descents. Length: 10.6 km | Duration 3:30 h | Metres in altitude: 1,247 hm

SLEDGING IN ENGELBERG

Sledging trails

Gerschnialp – Engelberg: Race down to Engelberg on the former bobsleigh run, which has now been "defused" and offers fun for the whole family as a toboggan run.

Brunni – Ristis: Sledging on the sunny slopes of Engelberg. The toboggan runs on Brunni offer the perfect view of the Titlis and leave nothing to be desired for sun lovers.

Fürenalp: 1,000 metres of descent are on offer. Surrounded by the white splendour of the mountain ranges, enjoy safe sledging fun on Fürenalp!

Night sledging: Every Friday and Saturday evening, Engelberg offers a special sledging experience: night sledging from Gerschnialp to Engelberg. 3,500 metres in length, 250 metres difference in altitude –that really sets the pace.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING IN ENGELBERG

In Engelberg you will find perfectly groomed cross-country trails. Take on the cross-country trails in the valley. The start and finish are at the Sporting Park, where there are also changing rooms with showers and a restaurant. Alternatively, the entrance to the valley trails is at the Brunni lifts. You can reach the cross-country skiing area on the Gerschnialp via the funicular railway, and it is best to use the TITLIS Xpress car park.

A pass is required to use the cross-country ski trail:

- Swiss cross-country ski pass, incl. night trail: CHF 160

- Engelberg season pass, incl. night trail: CHF 60

- Day pass, incl. night trail: CHF 10

- Night cross-country ski pass: CHF 5

SLIDE PARK AT THE TRÜBSEE

You can really let off steam in the slide park at the Berghotel Trübsee. You whizz down the slope on a rubber tyre. The covered conveyor belt takes you comfortably back to the top. The fun is free of charge.

Open daily from 9:00 to 17:00 hrs, depending on weather and snow conditions.

Until 2 April, additionally open every Saturday evening from 19:00 to 22:00.

TITLIS SNOWXPARK

Rent an electric snowmobile at the TITLIS SnowXpark on Trübsee and enjoy the driving fun on the circuits. The e-snowmobile driving fun is unique in Switzerland. The TITLIS SnowXpark is best compared to a go-kart track. The longest lap is about one kilometre long, and there are six e-Snowmobiles on the track at the same time. No CO2, no noise, no engine oil. You explore the Winter Wonderland in a small cable car, on snowshoes and if you wish on a short passenger ride on a snowmobile. The walk in the snow takes a good hour and only a few metres in altitude are covered. You will experience snow-covered mountain forests, observe tracks of wild animals and enjoy mulled wine along the way. If you are interested, your guide will give you an avalanche crash course.

By cable car and then 30 minutes on foot along a winter hiking trail, we head up into the mountains, where we make ourselves comfortable in the shelter of a snow hollow and enjoy a magnificent mountain view. Here, after an aperitif, you will enjoy a cheese fondue in the open air. If the weather is too nasty, you can go to the nearby mountain restaurant. You return by taking a short walk in the snow and by gondola.

BY HELICOPTER INTO WINTER WONDERLAND

You fly by helicopter from Engelberg to the entrance of a mountain valley and are then driven by snowmobile into the solitude. On snowshoes, you continue through snow-covered mountain landscapes. If you are interested, you will receive an avalanche crash course from your guide.

Engelberg culture dates back to the 12th century. The village is dominated by the monastery and the collegiate church. Here you will find the largest church organ in Switzerland, an impressive monastery library, the Valley Museum library, the Valley Museum, a show dairy and the manor house.
